176: Legion Building

"Lord, the population count from the recently received Sub-plane has been finalized. There are a total of 533,750 people. In accordance with your wishes, they have been settled into various settlements."

Fornal reported the recent population settlement work to Rehn, holding a long report.

It was now June, and half a month had passed since the Sub-plane incident.

Through the efforts of Fornal and others over the past half month, the migrated population had been properly settled. Although most did not have houses to live in yet, people had stabilized in their new homes. All that remained was to build and improve various facilities step by step.

The engineering teams of the Red River Territory were very efficient. Although Rehn and the others no longer used spells to assist the construction teams, the number of mages assisting in engineering projects had not decreased, but rather increased.

Among the population migrated from the Sub-plane, there were many Professionals. Rehn gathered these Professionals together for unified allocation and deployment. Although the number of Spellcasters among them was very small, there were still some.

There were three Silver Rank Spellcasters and dozens of Spellcasters below Silver Rank. Alistair trained them in low-level spells that could assist in engineering construction, such as Mud to Stone, and then they were assigned to various construction sites to join the building teams.

Initially, these Spellcasters had quite a few complaints about doing such manual labor. Even though they were building homes for their own clansmen, they remained very dissatisfied.

They had once been high and mighty, respected by others, spending their days either enjoying life or delving into the mysteries of knowledge. Now, being made to work on construction sites, these Spellcasters found it impossible to accept such a massive transformation.

The Spellcasters felt they were wasting their limited lives on meaningless things; they preferred to spend their time researching spell knowledge.

They brought their thoughts to Rehn, to which Rehn was quite disdainful. In Rehn's eyes, even if these low-level Spellcasters spent their entire lives studying spell knowledge without eating or drinking, they wouldn't be able to research anything useful.

Rehn had Kapdo and Alistair, the two Gold Rank Archmages, step forward to give a few spell lectures to these low-level Spellcasters, which benefited them greatly.

Subsequently, Rehn promised these Spellcasters that as long as they followed his arrangements, he would regularly arrange for Gold Rank Archmages to lecture them, and he could also open the Red River Territory's library to them based on their contributions.

Under Rehn's diligent collection, the Red River Territory's library had reached a considerable scale. Especially after obtaining the collection of the Sub-plane's Holy Lord this time, the knowledge and classics Rehn possessed were no weaker than those of any Earldom with a long heritage.

On the other hand, Rehn told them that the Red River Territory did not support idle people. If these Spellcasters were unwilling to follow his arrangements, they would have to pay him an expensive life-saving fee.

Rehn couldn't save them for nothing. Once the money was paid in full, Rehn would leave them alone, and they could do whatever they wanted, as long as they didn't violate the laws of the Red River Territory.

These Spellcasters had come as refugees, and their savings were not much to begin with. Coupled with the large sum Rehn demanded, no one could pay the fee in full.

Under Rehn's pressure and inducements, these dozens of Spellcasters eventually obeyed Rehn's arrangements.

With their help, the construction progress of the various settlements in the Red River Territory was extremely fast.

As the newly recruited construction workers became more skilled and the Spellcasters' proficiency in engineering construction spells continued to improve, the speed of future construction would see a massive increase.

Rehn listened comfortably to Fornal's report. This trip to the Sub-plane had resulted in no losses, yet the gains were enormous.

A large population, massive amounts of various resources, an increase in his own strength, many high-level magic plants, precious knowledge heritage, and finally, over a dozen space stones and two complete law crystals—every single gain left Rehn extremely satisfied.

Regarding law crystals, Kapdo and Rehn each gained two complete law crystals, while Melissa and Alistair each gained one. Such treasures that could influence the Legendary level were priceless.

The resources plundered from the Sub-plane left Rehn stuffed all at once; half a month was not enough for him to fully digest everything.

"Do not stop the construction. The talents among those outsiders can be selected and appointed based on their abilities. After all, we have too few people; we still need them to help with management."

Rehn had no qualms about using the talents among these outsiders. As his strength continued to grow, his confidence also grew.

"News has come from Rage Bear Fortress that many extra-planar spatial passages have appeared in the Northern Border, including one connecting to the Chaos Demon Abyss. This has led to a large number of Chaos Demons and extra-planar creatures appearing in the Northern Border. The threat from these outsiders is not small."

Rehn spoke of the latest news he had just received, which the Salak Merchant Guild had brought during trade a few days ago. This was extremely bad news.

The spatial passages appearing in the Northern Border were completely different from the Plane Passage Rehn had discovered. The worlds behind these spatial passages were very stable, and many were powerful, with the beings emerging from them possessing significant strength.

If nothing else, the Chaos Demons coming from the Chaos Demon Abyss alone were enough to warrant the attention of the entire kingdom.

Rehn said fortunately, "Luckily, these spatial passages are very small, and the number and strength of the creatures passing through are not yet strong. Otherwise, the entire Northern Border would be in chaos again."

The Red River Territory was currently in a state of rapid development. Rehn only wanted to keep his head down, farm, and develop; he did not want the situation to become chaotic at all.

"You must also be prepared. Once there is a situation here in the Red River Valley, we won't be in a panic when dealing with it."

"I understand, Lord!" Fornal took Rehn's instructions to heart.

As soon as Fornal finished his report and left, Ross and several others walked in immediately afterward.

"How is the recruitment for each legion going?"

The population of the Red River Territory had more than doubled, so the army naturally had to expand. Especially after the threat of extra-planar creatures in the Northern Border, Rehn was even more concerned about the improvement of the army.

This military expansion was not like the previous small-scale ones; right from the start, Rehn prepared to form several legions.

Among them were three special legions: the Gale Claw Legion, the Storm Steel Feather Legion, and the Frostfang Legion.

Rehn had two newly mastered extraordinary classes, Gale Swordsman and Storm Archer, as well as two major Lair Creatures: the Frost White Wolf and the Steel Feather Great Eagle.

Thirteen peak Bronze Rank wind spirit sacred trees and one Silver Rank wind spirit sacred tree had already been planted in the Medicine Garden, growing robustly under Dora's care.

Rehn gave the batch of mature wind spirit fruit harvested in the Sub-plane to Kapdo for research, and at the same time, he also handed over the secret techniques of the two extraordinary classes to Kapdo.

Originally, the Wind Riding Tribe only crudely consumed the wind spirit fruit directly to develop wind-riding abilities and train the two extraordinary classes.

Rehn now had Kapdo, the Potion Master, develop potions from the wind spirit fruit. As long as there was progress in the potion research, the difficulty of training these two extraordinary classes would be reduced significantly. Coupled with the high-level Breathing Technique in Rehn's hands, the potential of the two extraordinary classes could be greatly increased.

A Gale Swordsman paired with a magic wolf mount became a Gale Wolf Rider, and a Storm Archer paired with a Steel Feather Great Eagle became a Storm Great Eagle Rider.

The Steel Feather Great Eagle lair was a gift brought by the Eagle Tribe when they sought refuge with Rehn. It was also the foundation of the Eagle Tribe; facing a crisis of extermination, they had offered this treasure to Rehn.

The Steel Feather Great Eagle was massive in size, with a wingspan of nearly ten meters. The feathers on its body looked like a suit of steel armor, hence the name Steel Feather Great Eagle. It was a rare flying mount.

The lair creature Frost White Wolf was significantly larger than the Wasteland Wolves and black wolves under Rehn's command and had a stronger carrying capacity. Rehn planned to use it as a mount for heavy cavalry and form the Frostfang Legion.

In the near future, these three special legions would be the core combat power of the Red River Territory.

Currently, the three legions were still in the preparation stage, representing Rehn's expectations. After several more months of digesting this harvest, the three special legions could begin formal formation.
