266: War spear

A magical barrier sealed off the entire Royal Capital, and it wasn't until three days later that the lockdown was finally lifted.

The moment the lockdown was lifted, countless pieces of news were instantly transmitted across the kingdom via magical communication.

Subsequently, spies from all directions flooded out of the Royal Capital, bringing more detailed intelligence back to their respective masters.

When the news from the Royal Capital reached various parts of the kingdom, the originally chaotic realm instantly quieted down. The Grand Dukes of the Four Borders and other high-ranking nobles all looked at the first-hand reports in shock.

"A large-scale riot broke out in the Royal Capital? Demon God Believers and Evil God Believers caused chaos together?"

"Prince Holden, who had disappeared for a while, has reappeared? And His Highness has already broken through to become a newly ascended Extreme Realm King? This new King displayed divine might in the capital, killing several Legendaries in a row and suppressing the riot?"

"More than ten Legendaries were killed during the three-day riot in the capital, and Prince Holden alone killed eight Legendary Experts?"

Under the impact of one explosive piece of news after another, the major nobles of the kingdom were somewhat unable to recover their senses.

As the spies from various houses returned over the following days with more detailed information, the entire noble circle of the kingdom fell silent.

The Northern Border, Stag Fortress.

Since the beginning of this year, Grand Duke of Stag Heisenberg's mood had not improved for a single moment.

First, some of his past actions were exposed, dealing a blow to his prestige in the Stag Territory, and a large number of traditional Stag Territory nobles no longer trusted him.

Then, the Countess of Violet, his half-sister who had been hiding in the northern border and acting relatively submissive, suddenly jumped out to publicly oppose his rule. Furthermore, all the nobles in the northern region had rallied behind the Violet Territory.

Once the nobles of the entire northern region leaned toward Lelia, the Stag Territory effectively became a divided state with the north and south in confrontation.

Such changes made Heisenberg extremely annoyed. He hated it when things spiraled out of his control. He was the Grand Duke of Stag, the master of the Stag Territory; the entire territory should be prostrate at his feet.

Heisenberg had originally assembled a large army, prepared to wipe out the Countess of Violet who opposed him in one fell swoop. He wanted to give the northern nobles a painful lesson, to let them know who the true master of this land was.

However, the Royal Family far away in the Golden Plains intervened. They sent an Inspection Team to investigate the incident where he allegedly persecuted and exterminated noble families. This turn of events disrupted Heisenberg's deployment.

Facing the Royal Inspection Team from afar, Heisenberg gave them the highest level of reception. Having traveled and adventured through the kingdom, he knew how terrifying the Royal Family was. Faced with their questioning, he could only strive to defend himself.

Later, rumors of the Golden King's death reached the Stag Territory. Heisenberg, who had been acting like a well-behaved child, began to have second thoughts, and his initial enthusiasm for the Royal Inspection Team waned.

"Is a Royal Family without the Golden King still the Golden Royal Family?"

Heisenberg couldn't help but think this to himself. At the same time, he secretly began to continue plotting his pressure campaign against the Violet Territory.

"I didn't expect it to end like this!"

Looking at the intelligence in his hand, Heisenberg murmured to himself.

"Let's temporarily postpone the combat plans for the north!"

"Also, prepare another gift and some supplies to be sent to the Royal Capital."

"Your Grace, the army has already finished assembling. Besides, the Inspection Team has already left. Do we still need to stop the combat plans?"

Thorn was somewhat unwilling. Everything was ready; to stop now would mean much of the preliminary preparation work would go to waste.

"Continuing the fight is definitely out of the question. Although the Inspection Team left, it was because something happened in the capital and they had to return. Now that the capital's issues are resolved, our affairs here are very likely to be brought up again."

"I should have personally seen the Inspection Team off before they left. The early preparations were good, but there was a problem with the final wrap-up. This is also my fault; I was careless."

Heisenberg regretted his neglect of the Inspection Team after hearing the rumors.

"Your Grace, you are a Grand Duke. You already gave them plenty of face. What more do you need to do?"

Thorn had a terrible impression of the Inspection Team. Every time he thought of those members who looked for trouble everywhere to make things difficult for them, he would get angry.

"I think we should give them a lesson."

"Give them a lesson? Don't say such things again. The Royal Family is not something we can afford to offend."

Before reaching the Legendary Realm, Heisenberg didn't fully understand how terrifying an Extreme Realm King was. Now that he had broken through to become a Legendary, he could sense the horror of an Extreme Realm King.

"Prince Holden broke through to the King Realm and killed so many Legendaries in the capital. Is such a powerhouse someone we can afford to offend?"

"The entire Northern Border might not even be able to find more than ten Legendary Experts! The Royal Capital dealt with so many Legendaries at once—and those are Legendaries!"

"A new King is born, and the battle in the capital has already proven his strength. The situation has been chaotic lately; if that Prince decides to use us as an example to warn others, it'll be trouble. Let's not cause any trouble for a while."

Thorn shut his mouth now. He wasn't stupid, just not as rational as Heisenberg.

"His Majesty the Golden King has not appeared yet, and it's unclear if he is alive or dead. But as long as Prince Holden is there, the dignity of the Royal Family cannot be violated."

"If His Majesty returns safe and sound, the Royal Family will have two Extreme Realm Kings."

"Two Kings!"

Thinking of this, Heisenberg felt a headache coming on. If the Royal Family had two Kings presiding over it, his future path would be very difficult. The road ahead was arduous!

"Thorn, go down and prepare."

"The war against the Violet Territory is temporarily halted, but the blockade and suppression against them don't need to stop. I want to starve them out!"

"Yes, Your Grace!"

After Thorn left, Heisenberg returned to his room. After closing the doors and windows tightly, he took out a spear from his spatial ring.

The design of the spear in his hand wasn't particularly outstanding; it didn't look much different from the spears held by ordinary soldiers, except for the material. The spear in Heisenberg's hand was made entirely of a black-red metallic material.

Stroking the cracks that covered the spear's body, Heisenberg's gaze gradually sharpened.

"War... more war is needed to repair the war spear!"

"What a pity that the Royal Family has produced another Extreme Realm King. It will be difficult to continue inciting wars in the future."

"But there must be war. The war spear must be repaired."

"War! War!"

The fighting spirit in Heisenberg's heart gradually grew intense, and the spear in his hand changed accordingly, emitting a faint blood-red light.

Holding the war spear, Heisenberg entered a state of cultivation. The fact that he could grow to the Legendary Realm was largely due to this inconspicuous spear in his hand.

Heisenberg had picked up the war spear from a ruined site during an adventure. Originally, he had only treated this seemingly broken spear as an ancient artifact, planning to sell it to a noble for some money.

But after Heisenberg led his adventuring party in a surprise attack against another rival party, the spear in his hand underwent a change.

Since then, Heisenberg had discovered the strange properties of the war spear and relied on it to rapidly increase his own strength.

By the time Heisenberg reached the position of Grand Duke of Stag, his ambition had expanded to its limit. Being a Grand Duke was not his endgame; he needed more war. He wanted to be the King of War.

"Endure for now. To have a grand war, one needs patient preparation."

"Even the Golden King cannot stop the footsteps of war!"
