136: Dragon Disaster Strikes

In the Red River Valley, countless Dragon-blooded Monsters and various magical beasts charged toward Baron Paris's territory.

Facing the overwhelming tide of magical beasts and Dragon-blooded Monsters, Paris slumped to the ground, paralyzed. His son and all the territorial guard forces were already scared witless.

With a guard force of only a few hundred men facing what looked like an endless army of alien races, they had already lost their will to fight.

Upon seeing the ferociously terrifying appearance of each magical beast and monster, many warriors even dropped their swords, clutching their heads and squatting on the ground in tremors, as if hoping everything they saw was just a hallucination.

As a veteran of the Border Defense Army, Baron Paris knew all too well how terrifying the enemies before him were. An army of this scale could even attempt to storm the Iron Wall Fortress.

A small territory like his, which didn't even have proper city walls, could not possibly withstand the enemy's assault.

As the monster army rapidly approached, Paris immediately stood up and pulled his son toward him.

“Go, I'll lead you in a breakout. The family cannot perish here.”

Knowing the territory couldn't be held, Paris immediately decided to take his son and break through the encirclement; he couldn't care about anything else now.

The monster army easily breached the defensive lines of Paris's territory, and a one-sided slaughter began.

All the Guard Army warriors were slaughtered to the last man, regardless of whether they resisted.

From several hundred meters away, Dragon Hawk watched the destruction of the human territory without a hint of interest; this territory was simply too weak.

Paris, who was attempting to break out, was spotted by a Wyvern Rider and subsequently died under the Wyvern's sharp maw. The entire breakout team vanished into the monster army in an instant, without causing even a ripple.

“Alright, eliminate their resistance. Pick out the old and weak and kill them all. Bring the remaining humans back; the Cult Leader has a use for them!”

After Dragon Hawk finished giving the orders, the monster armies began to move.

Within the magical beast legion, several magical wolves wandered around the perimeter for a bit before one of them quietly broke away from the group and headed south.

Before long, Renn received news of the fall of Paris's territory.

“It seems the monster army will reach the Red River Territory by tomorrow. Based on the current scale of the monster army entering the Red River Valley, there are at least tens of thousands.”

“While their numbers are significant, their strength isn't weak either. The average strength of the magical beasts and Dragon-blooded Monsters is basically at the Black Iron Rank. The defensive pressure will be immense.”

Renn wasn't surprised by Paris's downfall. That stubborn old man's refusal to abandon his territory meant he was destined to be buried in the wilderness. Renn could barely protect himself, let alone waste time trying to persuade him to head south.

Now, he was once again the only lord left in the Red River Valley.

“The territorial Guard Army, combined with Anatolis's offspring, possesses over a hundred Silver Rank combatants, nearly five hundred Bronze Rank combatants, and about two thousand Black Iron Rank combatants.”

“The remaining twenty thousand Militia have only trained for three days and are not fit for major use.”

Ross reported the strength of the territorial Guard Army truthfully.

“Currently, the city walls are sufficient for defense. Our Red River City's walls are high and thick; those below the Silver Rank cannot effectively damage or scale them, which can stall most of the low-level combatants in the alien army.”

“As for Silver Rank enemies, current intelligence suggests their numbers aren't very high. Even if they quickly scale the walls, they won't be able to break through the defensive line.”

“The key now is how many Gold Rank combatants the opponent has; that is still unknown.”

“And those flying magical beasts are also a problem.”

Anatolis interjected after hearing what Ross said.

“I sensed the aura of that Dragon-blooded Monster we encountered before. As for other Gold Rank auras, I haven't perceived them yet; they are likely hidden.”

Renn nodded.

“So, we know the dragon army has at least one expert at the Gold Peak.”

“As long as there aren't more than three Gold Peak experts, there won't be any danger.”

Anatolis's thought was that three-on-three was fine, but three-on-four would be a bit difficult. After all, he still had to protect the city; if it were a pure fight, he could handle two opponents of the same rank alone without an issue.

“How is the distribution of weapons and equipment for the Militia going?”

“Lord, the weapons and equipment you collected have all been distributed. Five thousand people are temporarily armed, but the remaining fifteen thousand still lack equipment.”

“However, the Forge Workshop is working overtime. We are striving to equip every militiaman with at least one weapon within half a month. As for armor, there's no way to provide it for now.”

Among the population Renn brought back, there were many craftsmen, especially from the Bright Moon Territory. There were quite a few blacksmiths, which replenished the Red River Territory's technical talent pool.

The Forge Workshop also gained many more blacksmiths, significantly increasing production.

However, Renn had expanded the Militia by twenty thousand all at once, which was a massive number. Even with the weapon stockpiles from three territories, the gap was still large.

“Have Howard and Walter speed up the progress. Let's get them equipped with weapons first.”

“Ross, do not stop the training of these Militia; they will be useful later. Pick out those who perform exceptionally well to form an elite Militia battalion and focus on training and arming them.”

“Yes!”

“Lord!”

The Red River Territory seized the last moments to prepare for war. Outside the Iron Wall Fortress in the Rage Bear Territory, a large monster legion swept through the villages and outposts on the fortress's periphery before finally arriving at the southern side of the Iron Wall Fortress.

After a hundred years of reinforcement and expansion, the Iron Wall Fortress had become a complex of fortress buildings, firmly guarding this pass in the Black Mountain Range.

Earl Sena was extremely shocked to see the Dragon-kin army suddenly appear outside the fortress. It was only after a reminder from the mage Alman that he realized the source of this army.

“The Dragon Worship Cult? Those dragons still dare to invade the kingdom?”

Sena truly hadn't expected the Dragon Worship Cult to be the invaders; he had initially thought the Black Tide had erupted.

“With dragon-blooded warriors appearing in such large numbers, what other force besides the Dragon Worship Cult and the vassals of those dragons could mobilize so many dragon-blooded warriors and dragon-blooded magical beasts?”

“Besides, of the forces that can emerge from the Black Forest, there are only those three. The Fairy Forest and the Secluded Valley have long been closed off to the outside world. That only leaves those dragons.”

“But what exactly is the meaning behind Dragon Peak's move this time?”

Alman was also somewhat confused; the Dragon Worship Cult had appeared too suddenly, without any warning whatsoever.

“Regardless of the reason, let's report to His Grace the Grand Duke and ask for reinforcements first.”

“To think that just after repelling the army of Fel Orcs from the north and before we could even catch our breath, we encounter an invasion by the Dragon Worship Cult. It really is one wave after another!”

Earl Sena immediately requested reinforcements from Rage Bear Fortress and then ordered all Border Defense Army troops in the Iron Wall Fortress to prepare for battle.

But just as Sena prepared for a bloody battle, the Dragon Worship Cult's army quickly headed south, not bothering to engage with Sena.

“Not good! They're going to ravage the heart of the territory.”

“Quickly send intelligence to Rage Bear Fortress so the Grand Duke can be prepared.”

Sena then mobilized some troops to intercept the Dragon Worship Cult's army heading south, but as soon as they left the fortress, they were attacked by flying magical beasts and Wyvern Riders. Suffering heavy losses, they were forced to retreat back into the Iron Wall Fortress.

In the end, Earl Sena could only watch helplessly as the massive monster legion headed south into the heart of the Rage Bear Territory.
