265: Battle of the Capital
"That bunch of trash from the Temple really is useless; they can't even deal with that barrier."
The core members of Primal Blood watched the Fel Orcs army relentlessly attacking the barrier in the distance, their eyes full of contempt.
"What can you expect from a bunch of brainless idiots?"
"Let them waste some energy first. In the end, it will still be up to us. We, Primal Blood, must bring back the Master's holy body."
"Guild Leader, if we successfully retrieve the holy body this time, can we advance further? The holy body inside this place is probably quite large, and the Primal Blood condensed from it should also be substantial."
"Don't worry. From what I know, the holy body stored beneath the seal guarded by that old fellow inside is much larger than any holy body we've obtained before."
"If we succeed this time, not only will all of us advance further, but we might even be able to add a few new members. Then, we can finally suppress that trash from the Temple."
The members of Primal Blood all smiled. Didn't they choose this path precisely for eternal life and immense power? Now that the opportunity was before them, they were naturally very eager.
On the other side of the battlefield, several Dragon Beasts hid in the shadows, observing secretly. As neighbors of the Verdant Holy Land, the Red Dragon Queen on Dragon Peak sensed the battle beginning here and immediately dispatched her subordinates to investigate.
The monstrous Blood Flame stirred up by the Fel Orcs was extremely troublesome even for the Dragon Clan. Olivia on Dragon Peak stared intently at the magical mirror relayed by her subordinates.
"Those lackeys of the Evil Gods again. Has the seal suppressed by that old fellow loosened once more?"
Olivia knew what her neighbor kept inside.
"Your Majesty, what should we do?"
"Us?"
"We do nothing!"
"Order all subordinates and kin to heighten their vigilance. If those Evil God lackeys dare to cross the border, kill them. If they don't cross, ignore them."
After issuing the command, Olivia turned off the magical mirror.
At this moment, Zelia walked over. She was somewhat worried about the actions of the Fel Orcs. The Evil Gods were common enemies to all life on the Noah Continent, and Zelia feared the Evil God Believers might cause some major disturbance.
"Olivia, are you really going to ignore those Fel Orcs? If those Fairies cannot hold them off and the Fel Orcs succeed, won't that cause huge problems?"
Olivia replied with a smile, "My dear Zelia, the possibility you mentioned simply does not exist. You have no idea how terrifying the old monster behind those Fairies is."
"That old fellow is an ancient monster who has lived since ancient times, someone who has seen the living Gods. How powerful he is cannot even be imagined."
"Those Fel Orcs think they can defeat him? Impossible. Never mind defeating him; if they don't have other means, they probably won't even be able to break through that barrier."
Olivia had personally experienced the powerful strength of Kavadoral before. In her eyes, all those Fel Orcs now were just a group of clowns with no chance of winning.
"Is that senior truly that strong?"
Zelia was still somewhat unconvinced; she had never met Kavadoral and did not know his true strength.
"Of course. Just rest assured. Unless an Evil God personally intervenes, nothing will happen. And if an Evil God truly does intervene, then it won't matter who goes."
Olivia was unconcerned; the Evil Gods were too distant. Even during the great war three thousand years ago that caused the collapse of the Tamriel Empire, the Extraterritorial Evil God had only manifested an avatar!
While Dragon Peak chose silence, the battle in the Black Mountain Range disturbed more than just Dragon Peak.
To the south, the Red River Territory also detected the anomaly immediately.
The Wolf Pack patrolling the territory and the Treant Clan were the first to discover the movement deep within the Black Mountain Range. Anatolis immediately entered the Black Mountain Range to scout personally. He witnessed the terrifying offensive of the Fel Orcs firsthand; the sky-covering Blood Flame was too conspicuous.
When Anatolis brought the news of the Fel Orcs back to the Red River Territory, Alista and the others, despite having been forewarned by Rein, were still shocked beyond measure.
Over a dozen Legendary Experts attacking in unison, accompanied by a considerable number of Extraordinary legions surrounding the Verdant Holy Land, made Alista and the others involuntarily worry about Rein.
“You don't need to worry too much. I observed the battle line for half a day and found that those Fel Orcs cannot break through the barrier protecting the Fairy Clan. Moreover, the Fairy Clan has quite a few powerful experts. Even if the barrier shatters, it won't be easy for the Fel Orcs to defeat the Fairy Clan.”
After recovering her senses, Alistair understood the key point.
“The Fel Orcs attacking so frantically indicates that things are progressing very smoothly for Rein. Now, we must guard the border well and prevent the Fel Orcs from targeting us.”
Under Alistair's command, patrols along the border of the Red River Territory became more frequent, and the territory was prepared for immediate combat. Although the chance of Fel Orcs marching south was slim, it was better to be safe than sorry; the Red River Territory could not afford any risks.
While the Red River Territory was actively preparing, a heavy snow quietly arrived, once again covering the entire Northern Territory in silver.
“It's snowing, time passes so quickly!”
“In the blink of an eye, winter is here again!”
Watching the heavy snow, Alistair couldn't help but sigh. Half a year had passed since Rein left the territory to head north.
The heavy snow could not dampen the heat of the chaotic situation. While battles raged deep within the Black Mountain Range, a long-planned great war was unfolding in the capital, Saint Stratos.
Abnormalities appeared simultaneously in the four districts—East, West, South, and North—of the capital. Chaos and bloody conflicts continuously erupted, and soon this storm began to sweep across the entire city.
The armies guarding the capital, such as the City Guard, Ordinance Knights, and the Golden Legion, although slightly delayed in their response, were gradually mobilized to suppress the riots.
However, the dispatch of the guard forces did not curb the chaos within the city; rather, it tended to expand the situation. More and more unknown forces emerged to attack various parts of the capital, and the strength of the Professionals among them was not much weaker than the Golden Legion.
Several spatial rifts leading directly to the Chaos Demon Abyss suddenly appeared throughout the city, and large numbers of Chaos Demons began to emerge in organized formations within the capital.
In the market of the East District, a tower of flesh and blood was erected, and the Power of Corruption began to spread outward.
Evil God Believers and Demon God Believers, who had been hiding in every corner of the capital, all revealed themselves and began causing destruction. As the situation continued to spiral into chaos, many malicious individuals also joined the fray.
Many of these rebellious factions were likely hostile to each other in secret, but at this moment, they tacitly chose to ignore one another, focusing instead on seizing resources within the capital to create greater chaos.
The Golden Palace, standing majestically at the center of the capital, remained calm and undisturbed. Even the rioters dared not violate it, voluntarily avoiding the Golden Palace.
With a heavy sound of opening doors, the previously closed main gates of the Golden Palace slowly opened. The Golden Lion Knights, clad entirely in gleaming gold, marched out in neat formation. Behind the Golden Lion Knights stood numerous elite legions, fully armed and ready.
And in the air above the Golden Palace, Holden, wearing the signature golden armor of the Golden Royal Family, looked down upon the entire capital.
He fixed his gaze on several corners of the capital where several Legendary existences were hidden. Although these Legends had not yet actively revealed themselves and were merely lurking silently in the shadows, they had been locked onto the moment they appeared in the capital.
“The rats hiding underground have finally crawled out of their holes!”
“This time, I will wipe out all of you rats in one sweep!”
Holden drew his longsword, and an aura instantly erupted centered on him. He then began his hunting spree.
“Domain!”
“Domain!”
“That is the Ultimate Domain. Is the Golden King still in the city?”
The moment the Domain erupted, all Legendary existences within the capital instantly sensed that terrifying power. Like mice seeing a cat, fear involuntarily surfaced in their hearts.
Several figures flew out from various corners of the capital, attempting to flee, but it was too late. The Mage Towers within the capital lit up simultaneously, and a shimmering magical barrier enveloped the entire city.
“Trying to run now?”
Holden’s longsword instantly cleaved a Legendary Demon, which had just crossed through a spatial rift, into two halves. Then, with a wave of his hand, he smoothed over and sealed the spatial rift before him.
“This is Saint Stratos, the capital of the Kingdom. It is not a place where you vermin rats can come and go as you please.”
“Stay here!”
