217: The screaming flower fairy
In early April, all things were reviving. The Red River Valley was the first to enter spring, with lush greenery everywhere.
After a winter of preparation, the work for the population migration was complete. At the beginning of April, the formal migration of the population from the Green Grass Plane began.
After a comprehensive census, Renn discovered that the population of the Green Grass Plane was even larger than Belmont had stated, reaching five hundred thousand people.
Of these five hundred thousand, Renn planned to leave one hundred thousand in the Green Grass Plane to tend the fields, while the remaining four hundred thousand would be moved to the Red River Valley over the course of the following month.
On the other side, the development of the Slime Plane was on track. The entire process from capture to production was smooth, and everyone in the Mage Tower was busy with production and cultivation.
Not just them; after winter passed, the entire Red River Territory became a hive of activity.
In addition to building houses for the four hundred thousand newly migrated people, Renn also planned to rebuild Blackstone City.
As a vital hub within the Blackstone Region, rebuilding Blackstone City was essential. Renn wanted to exert total control over this land, and rebuilding the city was only the first step.
Once the ice and snow had completely melted, the Red River Territory's caravans would head south to continue trading. Renn ordered them to purchase a batch of Slaves every time they returned north to bolster the territory's population.
These newly purchased Slaves would be sent to the Blackstone Region. Most would become miners or work in related professions, and the Blackstone Region would gradually regain its vitality.
Having arranged everything in the territory, Renn himself took Dora and began patrolling the Black Corridor region.
The Blackstone Region was an internal territory of the Rage Bear Territory. After nearly two hundred years of development by the Blackstone Family, it had relatively mature settlements. It only needed a steady increase in population and construction to restore its prosperity.
The Black Corridor was completely different. From the founding of the Kingdom of Asriel until now, no one had ever been active here. This area was a forbidden zone for humans and a paradise for Alien Tribes.
After receiving this fief, Renn had sent out the Wolf Pack to continuously hunt and drive away the Alien Tribes.
Anatolis's three Gold Rank scions led hundreds and thousands of magic wolves to repeatedly sweep through the Black Corridor, wiping out a large number of Alien Tribes.
However, there were still many Alien Tribes and other dangerous creatures remaining here.
A fireball exploded as Renn casually eliminated a skeleton camp. This was his first time encountering Undead Creatures.
"Even these kinds of creatures have appeared. It seems this Black Corridor is truly chaotic!"
"Renn, I hate these skeletons, I hate them so much!"
Dora looked at the scattered bone fragments with disgust; the aura of the undead made her extremely uncomfortable.
"I hate them too, but it's fine. Whenever we see them, we'll just wipe them all out."
Undead Creatures only appear in places with heavy death energy. The problem in the Black Corridor seemed more serious than Renn had anticipated.
"Wait until I wake up those big Treants; they'll smash all these nasty guys to pieces."
Dora waved her small hands and puffed out her cheeks, trying to look fierce.
Renn had brought Dora out specifically to use her Spirit Awakening talent to enlighten Treants.
Dora's Spirit Awakening talent could bring eligible ancient trees to life as a new form of existence—Treants. This talent was far more advanced than using nature spells to animate trees; it was equivalent to creating a new life.
Renn now possessed this talent as well, but it was much weaker than Dora's.
He could only use the Spirit Awakening Technique four or five times a day before being exhausted, whereas Dora currently seemed to have no limits at all.
Renn had already seen her use the Spirit Awakening Technique over a dozen times today.
"Let's go over there, Renn! There's an eligible big tree to awaken, let's go!"
After wandering for a while, Dora suddenly shouted and flew quickly toward a target. Renn followed closely and soon arrived in front of an ancient tree over a hundred meters tall.
Dora had already wrapped her small hands around the ancient tree. Natural energy flowed through its trunk, and a moment later, the tree began to vibrate. A blurry face appeared on the bark, and its branches began to move.
"Great... Mother!"
The newborn Treant haltingly uttered a few syllables, and Dora flew around it happily several times.
"Awakened another one! I'm so amazing!" Dora praised herself.
Upon becoming a Treant, this eligible ancient tree's strength directly reached the Silver Rank, which was quite impressive.
The minimum strength of any Treant awakened through the Spirit Awakening Technique was Bronze Rank, while the better ones would reach Silver Rank.
Dora told Renn that there were even eligible ancient trees that could reach Gold Rank immediately upon awakening, but she didn't yet have the ability to use the Spirit Awakening Technique on such high-level trees.
Even so, Renn felt that the Spirit Awakening Technique was incredibly powerful.
In just the five or six short days they had been out, he and Dora had used the Spirit Awakening Technique to create over a hundred Treants. Creating over a hundred Bronze Rank and nine Silver Rank combatants in just a few days was unheard of.
Dora spent a long time communicating with the Treant after awakening it before they finally left.
"All right, he will patrol nearby and clear out all those annoying guys!"
"Let's go, Renn!"
Dora had been very reluctant to leave home at first, but now she had become proactive. Clearing out disgusting things like the undead gave her great joy and motivation.
"Okay, let's continue!"
Renn intended to use the Treants and the Magic Wolf packs to form a defensive line in the Black Corridor, constantly clearing out threatening forces like the Alien Tribes.
The Black Corridor was not suitable for establishing settlements, and Renn had no plans to move immigrants here. Besides building a defensive line to clear out aliens, he would also send people to search for useful resources.
The Black Corridor had never been developed, so there were bound to be resources. Establishing collection points at resource sites would be sufficient.
Speaking of resources, in the few days he and Dora had been patrolling the Black Corridor, they had already collected many magic plants, which would enrich Dora's garden when they returned.
"Renn, there seems to be something special over there. Shall we go take a look?"
"Something special?"
Renn was intrigued by Dora's words and looked in the direction she pointed.
With Dora's reminder, Renn also felt as if something in that direction was attracting him.
"Come on, let's go see!"
A moment later, in the forest on the outskirts of the Black Mountain Range.
Dora perched on Renn's shoulder while Renn rode Reck. This strange combination descended from the sky, startling several peculiar little creatures nearby into a chorus of screams.
Ah! Ah! Ah!
"A terrifying Magic Wolf is going to eat us!"
The piercing screams made Dora cover her ears and shout.
"Everyone shut up!"
"So noisy!"
Dora's aura flared, and the surrounding Flower Fairies, who had been screaming, instantly fell silent.
"Are you Flower Fairies?"
Looking at the quieted little creatures, Dora discovered that they were indeed several Flower Fairies.
