151: Answer one by one

An existence just one step away from becoming a Legendary Potion Master; this title could not be described as anything but powerful.

That meant there was a Gold Peak Potion Master in Wren's territory. Such a figure could not be found elsewhere in the entire Rage Bear Territory or even the whole North!

The eyes of all the grizzly bear fief nobles in the hall looking at Wren changed; no one doubted Wren's faith in the Chaos Demon God anymore.

After hearing it from Grand Duke Karl himself, how could they still have any doubts?

Everyone's heart was filled with envy and desire. Many of them had been stuck at Silver Peak for many years. If they could also obtain a bottle of top-tier potion, could they also break through to the Gold Rank?

There was more than one smart person. They looked at each other and saw the thoughts in each other's hearts. Many were already eager to try. If the Grand Duke of the Raging Bear weren't still there, they would have rushed forward to surround Wren.

"I didn't expect Kapdo to still have stock. I thought he had exhausted all his savings long ago."

Karl was still a bit surprised, but in the end, he seemed to have figured it out.

"It seems he was heavily injured this time and felt completely hopeless. He gave you all the resources he had prepared for his granddaughter, wanting you to protect his precious granddaughter!"

"Right?"

Wren didn't expect Karl to think this way, but this played right into Wren's hands.

"It's much like what Your Highness thinks. Master Capdo is unable to leave now and plans to spend his retirement in Red River City."

The Gold Archmage Alman, standing beside Karl, spoke up at this time:

"Kapdo Ilix, that pitiful fellow. I didn't expect him to be destroyed by the power of an Evil God in the end. What an utter fool, not only ruining himself but also his family."

"Even more unexpected that his final resting place would be in the North."

Alman and Karl's words made the other nobles look complicated. They felt as if their plans had run into some issues.

"Alright, don't set your sights on him. That fellow carries an evil gods curse; it's hard enough for him to stay alive, let alone refine potions. His last stock has been exhausted by Wren, and there won't be anything left."

Karl warned Wren with a solemn tone:

"Wren, you must also be careful. Don't get too close to that old man. An evil gods curse is no joke. Although an Immortal Legend stepped in to seal it, accidents can happen in everything."

"I understand, Your Highness, I will be careful!"

"Now that we've finished with that, explain to me how you resisted the Dragon Legion's invasion, and what's the deal with your new city?"

Wren had long anticipated Karl would ask this question, and he gave the prepared explanation.

"Red River City was built by me, Master Capdo, and his granddaughter."

"Master Capdo detected that I have a bit of mage talent, so I became his apprentice and learned the Mud to Stone spell. His granddaughter is also a Bronze Rank mage."

"The three of us built Red River City bit by bit using the Mud to Stone spell. I was busy every day, but now I've mastered the Mud to Stone spell to perfection."

Wren vividly told Karl how he, Cecilia, and Kapdo built Red River City bit by bit.

Alman and several other mages nearby frowned as they listened. As traditional mages, they extremely detested this behavior of degrading the status of a mage.

However, they couldn't criticize Wren, Kapdo, or Cecilia.

"Alright, I didn't expect you to become a mage, how interesting."

The smile on Karl's face as he looked at Wren became playful.

"Your Highness, Lord Wren isn't really a mage. He's just a knight who knows the Mud to Stone spell. To be a mage, one must at least understand basic magical theory and various mage common knowledge. I don't think Lord Wren understands much."

Wren scratched his head.

"I don't have time to learn those things. Anyway, the Mud to Stone spell is really useful, and so is Mage Hand. It's so convenient for moving things; one person is worth a hundred skilled workers."

Hearing Wren compare mages to skilled workers, Mage Alman's anger began to rise.

"Alright, Wren, let's not talk about Red River City anymore. Tell me how you resisted the Dragon Legion."

Karl interrupted Wren, allowing Alman to breathe a sigh of relief. If Wren continued, he might not be able to hold back his anger.

"Resisting the Dragon Legion was entirely thanks to Senior Anatolis; otherwise, Red River City would have been breached by the Dragon Legion long ago."

"Anatolis?"

"Black Nightmare Anatolis, he's still alive?"

Karl was quite surprised. He was very familiar with this name; it was once Derrick's battle partner, an extremely powerful and bloodthirsty Magic Wolf.

"Yes, Senior Anatolis lives in the Black Mountain Range leading the Wolf Pack. When the Dragon Legion moved south, he came out of the Black Mountain Range and arrived in the Red River Territory to help me defend my territory."

Karl hurriedly asked: "Has he broken through to Legendary?"

Wren paused for a moment and answered: "No, Your Highness. Anatolis is only one step away from Legendary, but he has never been able to cross that hurdle."

Hearing what Wren said, Karl sighed in relief and said empathetically, "That hurdle is indeed not easy to cross!"

"For many years, countless geniuses have been stuck at this step without further progress. Anatolis was extremely talented back then, no less than Derrick, yet he also ended up stuck at this step."

"Anatolis said it wasn't easy for him to break through to Gold Peak, and at his age, he no longer thinks about breaking through."

Karl was a bit dazed, and only came to his senses after a moment.

"Yes, what can we expect at our age?"

"Anatolis is not much different from me in age. Magic wolves are not a long-lived species either; his life has reached its final stage."

"Yes, Your Highness!"

After Wren finished speaking about Anatolis, Karl was clearly moved and lost interest in other things.

"Wren, you have merit in defending the territory, and you even took the initiative to defeat a Dragon Legion. Yours is the only territory that defeated a Dragon Legion independently using only its own strength, recovering losses for Rage Bear Territory and performing a great service."

"Now your strength has broken through to the Gold Rank."

"The other four baronies in the Red River Valley were wiped out by the Dragon Legion again. Including the previous war with the Fel Orcs, the four baronies have been wiped out twice in a row. Both times, your Derrick Family has served the territory well."

"Therefore, I have decided to formally appoint you as the Viscount of Red River Valley. The entire Red River Valley will be your fief."

"Does anyone else have an objection?"

Karl looked around. Almost all the prominent figures of Rage Bear Territory were present this time, and they all remained silent.

If some of them had objections just now, they had none now.

Black Nightmare Anatolis—any family with a bit of history knows this name. Even if they didn't, everyone understood the powerful combat strength of a Gold Peak just one step from Legendary.

With such a powerful existence presiding over the territory, who would dare to have an objection?

Let alone Wren breaking through to Gold Rank; even if he hadn't, no one would have any objection.

Some were even secretly glad that Black Nightmare Anatolis was in his twilight years; otherwise, this appointment wouldn't just be for a Viscount—it's possible he could have been made an Count.

Many were extremely jealous in their hearts. Why wasn't such a powerful combat magic beast part of their own family?

"Alright, since everyone agrees, the investiture ceremony will be held here in three days!"

"I'll be staying here for a few more days. By holding the ceremony here, you won't have to return to Rage Bear Fortress for an investiture in the Thunder Hall. I see you're concerned about your territory and don't want to travel far."

"Thank you for your concern, Your Highness!"

Wren was overjoyed in his heart. Grand Duke Karl was practically his soulmate, thinking of everything for him.

The purpose of his audience this time was all achieved in this one conversation without any effort at all.
