10: Chapter 10 Re-entering the Trial, Researcher Cassius

...

Inside the training grounds, dull thuds of impact rang out.

"Boss, the angle of the Heart-Piercing Elbow needs to be a bit higher. This way won't work," Zhou Hui said as he began to demonstrate for Lin Fang. "Like this."

Bang—

Very good, a very deep impression. Lin Fang, lying on the ground, spoke through the pain, "Let's stop here for today. Come and give me a hand."

"Alright," Zhou Hui stepped forward to pull him up.

But just as he leaned down, Lin Fang's gaze sharpened. He spread two fingers and jabbed them toward Zhou Hui's brow without showing any mercy.

The attack was swift; in the blink of an eye, it was less than a centimeter from the big man's eyelid!

At that critical moment, Zhou Hui's head snapped back. The young man's fingers brushed past the tip of his nose. Zhou Hui caught Lin Fang's wrist with a backhand grip and gave it a vicious twist.

"Hiss—"

Lin Fang finally couldn't help but cry out in pain. As usual, he had been beaten for nearly a month—attack, defend, attack, defend... and his sneak attack had still failed.

Zhou Hui let go of him and laughed. "Boss, it's not time yet. I don't believe a word you say."

Internally, however, he let out a sigh of relief. Lin Fang had improved significantly since they first met. His daily demands on himself could only be described as self-torture.

Zhou Hui had never seen someone with such perseverance.

The first round of training ended.

After Zhou Hui left, Lin Fang washed up and returned to his second-floor bedroom. It had been 30 days since his last exploration. If it didn't work tonight, he didn't know when he'd be able to enter again.

But the result was good. Once midnight passed, the "Inaccessible" prompt on the Black Star's exploration interface disappeared.

"Xiao Hei, execute Command One."

[Xiao Hei received. I won't let anyone disturb the Boss.]

How will I die this time?

Lin Fang looked at the faint glow flickering on the Black Watch with anticipation. The next moment, his consciousness sank into darkness.

[Entering the Trial Plane.]

[Descent to the plane successful.]

[Spacetime Package Status: Idle.]

[Remaining plunder points: 0]

[Sole Objective: Search for supplies, evacuate safely.]

[Evacuation Countdown: 23:59:59]

Swish—

As Lin Fang's vision cleared, he instinctively rolled. Bullets punched holes into the nearby trees, and the flying wood chips stung his cheeks.

Ahead was a jungle.

Lin Fang scrambled forward a few meters on all fours before sprinting headlong. He realized this body was slightly smaller and thinner than the last one.

Lin Fang confirmed his suspicion. It seemed the body his consciousness inhabited was different for each exploration, and time continued to flow.

As for why he only realized it now, it was because he had died too quickly the first time.

The next goal: deal with the enemies behind him!

As Lin Fang dashed deeper into the jungle, he searched his person for anything useful.

Tissues, a toothbrush, and... the legendary condom?

Lin Fang was speechless. Just who had he possessed? But he had no choice but to charge forward, clutching the toothbrush that seemed to have at least some lethal potential.

The handle of this toothbrush had been sharpened.

"Hehe, little mouse, run faster."

Behind some sandbags not far away, a blonde woman in black leather laughed as she watched the frantic figure. Her American accent was exceptionally coquettish:

"The kitty is going hunting."

Rat-a-tat-tat—

After speaking, the blonde beauty raised an assault rifle, aimed at the figure darting through the woods, and fired a burst, but the target luckily managed to dodge them all.

Seeing this, Emily threw down her rifle, took a rocket launcher handed to her by a burly man in a suit, and fired.

Boom!

The shell exploded near the figure. The massive force of the impact sent the target flying, his fate unknown.

Although the recoil nearly knocked her over, Emily jumped for joy at the sight. "Wow! I hit him! This is so much fun!"

As she bounced, her chest heaved, and her hollowed-out bikini area was faintly visible, making the two men beside her feel their throats tighten.

"Miss Emily, we still need to go check," one of the men in suits reminded her.

"Then you guys go quickly. I'm going to start the next game," Emily said, looking at the messy jungle with disdain. A noble member of the Drake Family wouldn't put themselves in danger.

"Miss Emily, it is my honor to serve you." A Caucasian man with a high nose and deep-set eyes headed into the jungle with a pistol, while another stayed behind to guard the blonde beauty.

"That monkey has surely died at your hands, Miss Emily."

The remaining man in the suit tried his best to curry favor, getting down on all fours and arching his back to make it as flat as possible. "Miss Emily, would you like to rest for a moment?"

"Of course."

Emily giggled and slowly sat down on him.

...

This is the third time I've been blown up!

Intense pain washed over him. Hiding behind a tree and clutching his abdomen, Lin Fang's anger flared. He glared fiercely at the approaching figure.

Running isn't the answer. I have to kill him first.

Along with the pain, adrenaline was secreting in large quantities. All fear had vanished! Lin Fang crouched low, lying in wait.

"Shit!"

As the high-nosed Caucasian approached and saw no body at the blast site, he looked annoyed. How was this yellow-skinned monkey not dead? This would make Miss Emily angry.

"Researcher Cassius, where are you?"

The white man, Crit, approached slowly with his pistol, warily scanning his surroundings. Although this monkey wasn't much of a threat, it was better to be careful; he was no reckless fool.

He drew closer.

Crit used his foot to poke at the bushes. Mottled bloodstains had dyed the area red; the target was clearly severely injured.

Looking at the crooked trail of blood leading deeper in, an image of a mangled body crawling away came to mind. Crit marveled at the tenacity of life.

Oh, God, forgive me. I need to kill this poor researcher for Miss Emily. To make up for it, I'll only eat lettuce and broccoli for dinner tonight.

Crit laughed hideously, his thick leather shoes making a faint "rustle" as he stepped through the grass.

As he walked forward, the bloodstains became increasingly chaotic.

Crit stopped and smiled joyfully at the base of a tree ahead.

"Yellow mouse, I found you."
