59: Chapter 59 The Pinnacle of Biotechnology

...

[Plane Descent Successful]

"Kaplan! Shut it down, quickly!"

Just as Lin Fang opened his eyes, a terrified, sharp female voice pierced his ears from behind.

It was a pure white, sealed corridor with walls, floor, and ceiling made entirely of transparent, high-strength glass. Inside the glass, countless pale blue light tubes illuminated the corridor as bright as day.

On the floor lay several corpses that had been precisely sliced open by some kind of sharp weapon. The cut surfaces were charred black, emitting a faint smell of burnt flesh.

At the end of the glass corridor was a tightly shut metal door.

This intense sense of déjà vu made Lin Fang instinctively want to take Venom out of his warehouse. Surely, even if it were hacked into pieces by lasers, it would be fine... right?

But the command seemed to be blocked; Venom did not appear in his hand.

Is the priority not high enough?

Zzt—

At the end of the twenty-meter corridor, a horizontal laser had already appeared. In three seconds, it would turn into a grid and slice him into pieces of meat.

Lin Fang knew where he was.

The world of resident evil, the pinnacle of biotechnology!

In the corridor, this U.S.S. Security Forces squad leader, who was about to die a miserable death, flashed an exaggerated smile.

Amidst the cries of alarm behind him, at the very moment the grid laser was about to arrive, Lin Fang took a sudden, large step back. The laser grid flickered less than three centimeters from the tip of his nose, then vanished.

"It worked!" Only then did a voice come from behind.

The iron door opened.

"James, are you alright?"

Lin Fang turned back and saw two men and a woman. Most notable was the woman who had just spoken—Alice, the protagonist of the resident evil film series, with her agile build and short blonde hair.

To be honest, she was much more beautiful than the actress in reality.

Beside her were two others: one was Kaplan Chad, the U.S.S. squad's electronics expert, and the other was Spence Parks—the man who had shattered the T-Virus.

In that instant, Lin Fang reviewed the entire resident evil plotline, with the Umbrella Corporation as the mastermind, revolving around "Project Apocalypse" and "Project Alice."

Bang—

A bloody hole appeared in the middle of Spence's brow. His body fell straight back, hitting the ground with a heavy thud, eyes wide open, his face still etched with lingering shock.

"What are you doing!"

"Sir..."

The other two were stunned by this sudden turn of events. Alice clutched Spence's hand and cried out in pain; the hypnotic neurotoxin released by the Red Queen had left her with temporary amnesia.

In Alice's flickering memories, her relationship with Spence was unusual—they were likely a married couple.

"Kaplan, mission suspended. Alice, I'll explain to you later."

Lin Fang closed the iron door. Knowing the plot, he was very clear on how to maximize his benefits.

A world with established order is far more comfortable than surviving an apocalypse.

In the plot, this world's resistance to the T-Virus was too weak. Aside from dropping a nuclear bomb with a yield of about fifty thousand tons of TNT on Raccoon City, there was almost no resistance to be seen.

Perhaps the American Government was so thoroughly corrupted by the Umbrella Corporation that they did nothing, but what about that great Eastern power?

A reflection of his own country.

Based on his experience in the previous plane, worlds shared commonalities. The only time Venom had faced a true life-or-death crisis was in the Central Continent; you could never imagine how insidious their strikes could be.

They were even familiar with the "spatial ability" of Raiders—Lin Fang.

Regardless, Venom hadn't wanted to step foot in the Central Continent since then, even though it had the brains it loved to eat most.

"Let me tell you a story..."

After destroying the surveillance, Lin Fang spoke with a solemn expression to the suspicious Kaplan and Alice.

Lin Fang had no intention of being secretive or playing the riddler; proper assistance would be a crucial factor in saving the suffering people of this otherworldly realm.

The entire resident evil plotline wasn't complicated. Focusing on the key points, Lin Fang only took a few minutes to spoil everything for the two of them.

But the shock these few minutes gave Kaplan and Alice was beyond words.

"This is impossible! I don't believe a word you're saying; it's all lies," Alice, wearing a long red dress, slumped to the floor, covering her face in disbelief.

How could she be a clone? According to him, she was actually created by the Umbrella Corporation using Alicia's DNA and the T-Virus.

"Alice, think about it. Do you have any memories from before you were sixteen? That's because your current memories were implanted by Isaac."

Lin Fang continued to drive the point home, saying, "Having fused with a small amount of the T-Virus, you are more perfect than most people. This shouldn't be hard to understand."

"Sir, are you saying our squad was sent as sacrifices by the Umbrella Corporation, and we're all going to die in the Hive?"

Kaplan appeared much more composed and immediately realized a problem. "How do you know all this?"

"You can think of it as a revelation given to me by Jesus when I was just about to die."

When in doubt, ask Jesus.

Lin Fang's impression of Kaplan was that he was killed by a Licker on the train to the outside world just as he was about to escape.

...

"You're back earlier than expected. Where are the others?"

Dining Room B was filled with black cultivation tanks. Upon seeing the group emerge, the female soldier Raine stood up from the floor and spoke with confusion.

She and Jade were responsible for guarding the exit. Beside them, in handcuffs, was Matt Anderson, who had posed as a police officer to sneak into the Hive to find information about his sister. Aside from Spence, whom Lin Fang had killed, the main cast from the start of the story was all present.

"Sorry, there's no one else."

Kaplan's expression was heavy. If he had been more cautious, his other three teammates wouldn't have been killed by the Red Queen.

Hearing this, Raine stepped over and grabbed Kaplan's collar, saying angrily, "What the fuck are you talking about?!"

"Kaplan is right. Jade and the others were killed by the Red Queen," Lin Fang reached out to stop Raine's movements.

Fortunately, he had possessed the squad leader this time. Under the strict organizational discipline, the hot-tempered female soldier still patiently listened to what Lin Fang had to say.

Lin Fang spoke about how the entire Hive was infected with the T-Virus.

"Do you know why this place is called the Dining Room? Because this is where they are fed—one of the Umbrella Corporation's achievements."

Lin Fang stared unblinkingly at the Lickers inside the cultivation tanks. It was hard to imagine that these flesh-and-blood monsters could easily tear through steel; they were miracles of biological science.

Indeed, optimization is never as good as mutation—aside from being a bit ugly, everything else is fine.

"I don't believe there are any zombies here. How can dead people come back to life? Sir, you need to prove it."

Raine's gaze was fixed on him.
