243: Chapter 243 God Bless the World

"Howard, do you know where there are other Pokémon as powerful as Mewtwo?"

After having their fill of food and drink, the three great villains... no, the three well-known entrepreneurs stood on the terrace of Lime City's highest restaurant, overlooking the city's scenery.

Hearing Lin Fang's question, Howard, who was still excited about the hope of curing his legs, pondered for a moment before answering.

"Mr. Lin, Mewtwo is already the most powerful Pokémon known. As far as I know, there is nothing rarer on the market. If there really is, it would only be in the Pokémon kingdom, Osialia."

Osialia?

Lin Fang had heard this name more than once, so he followed up, "How much do you know about this Pokémon kingdom?"

"Very little," Howard shook his head. "The Earth Alliance prohibits any unofficial organization from entering Osialia. Even I have no way."

Hearing this, Lin Fang became interested in this mysterious place.

Even someone as high-ranking and from a top family as Howard had no information; it was hidden quite thoroughly.

"Is the Alliance so guarded about Osialia simply because it's a paradise for Pokémon where human presence is forbidden?"

Isaac, who was standing nearby, asked. After coming to this world, he had also learned about the general trends.

Howard gave a bitter smile: "Dr. Isaac, the official statement is indeed so, to protect the original nature and the purity of the Pokémon."

"It seems like just a cover. Commander, if you need it, I will immediately arrange for people to go and investigate," Isaac looked at Lin Fang, his eyes filled with excitement.

Lin Fang thought for a moment, "Let's first increase the company's power in this world. Do you have any suggestions?"

Two minutes later, the three reached an agreement. In the G-5 plane, besides medicine sales and Pokémon trade, Third-Party Technology would launch one more business in this world: armed services.

After all, military companies and the like existed in this world as well.

Once the decision was made, it was time to pick a 'lucky' country.

In the eyes of Lin Fang and Isaac, for the sake of convenience, they would definitely hijack the political power of the country where the company was located; they were well-versed in this process.

"Commander, what do you think of this country? The terrain and population are decent, and it's not too far from Osialia." Isaac pointed at the projected map.

Lin Fang looked over and found it was a country named Mavidais, with a land area of 200,000 square kilometers and a population of less than 9 million.

More importantly, this country was poor.

A large research base could also be established here.

"Let's go with this place then."

Lin Fang made the decision immediately. "Isaac, I'll leave the details to you. I'll have Number Two and Tanaka Taiichi cooperate with you..."

"Commander, I guarantee the mission will be completed. I'll have people set out right now."

Isaac's eyes lit up. According to the Commander, Number Two was an artificial intelligence much more powerful than the Red Queen; this was a good chance to see it for himself.

"Mr. Lin, I wish you every success," Howard bowed nearby in well-wishes, though the shock in his eyes was almost irrepressible. To decide the fate of a country so nonchalantly—just how unfathomably deep were the foundations of this organization?

Looking at it now, their arrival in this world was truly a mystery of whether it was a blessing or a curse. But regardless, he could no longer withdraw and could only help the villain in his evil deeds.

Howard shook his head and sighed, his voice barely audible.

"May God bless the world."

—

The next day, Republic of Mavidais, the capital, Kono City.

The air in this coastal city was perennially filled with the smell of sea brine and dilapidated industry. The Presidential Palace was an old building left over from a previous era. Inside, the current President in his fifties, Carlos Mendoza, was staring blankly at the national treasury report in front of him.

This country was too poor. Resources were controlled by a few major families, the prices of exported agricultural products and low-grade minerals were suppressed to extremely low levels by international giants, and the Alliance's aid was a drop in the bucket, coming with numerous political strings attached. He felt suffocated yet powerless to break free.

Even after a lifetime of hard work, he could not reverse the country's decline on his own. Realizing this, Carlos's expression was one of sorrow.

If only there were a miracle.

Suddenly, Carlos heard his secretary's knock on the door. "Mr. President, a representative from a corporation says they want to see you."

"Have them go to the reception room."

Carlos waved his hand. Cases of companies arriving were not uncommon, but they often just wanted to exploit the country's few remaining resources.

Yet Carlos still had to receive these people to avoid missing anything.

Wasn't it ridiculous? The President of a nation had actually become a receptionist. Carlos gave a bitter laugh and picked up the materials the secretary had left on the desk, which showed the name of the company arriving shortly and some simple data.

"Hmm? Third-Party Technology!"

Upon seeing the company name, Carlos stood up in shock. He frequently kept up with external news, and because of that, he had heard of this name.

This company had climbed into the world's top 100 in a short period and had also become the largest shareholder of Clifford Industries, which had caused a sensation for a time.

It was actually them who had come.

Carlos's heart skipped a beat, then immediately sank. After the shock came a deeper wariness.

World's top 100? Largest shareholder of Clifford Industries? Why would such a commercial giant take an interest in the barren soil of Mavidais? Their purpose was likely far more dangerous than those ordinary companies wanting to extract minerals.

"But... perhaps it's an opportunity."

Carlos took a few deep breaths and walked to the full-length mirror to quickly tidy his appearance.

A few minutes later, in Reception Room One—the only room in the Presidential Palace still presentable, with an old but clean carpet and some national historical memorabilia—Carlos met the visitor.

"Hello, Mr. President. I am William Birkin, the Director of the Biological R&D Department of Third-Party Technology. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Seeing Carlos enter, a middle-aged white man with a thick beard in the reception room immediately stood up to greet him.

"The place is a bit simple; please, have a seat."

Carlos was stunned. Why did those words sound wrong? Wasn't this his own territory? Why did the other party sound like the host?

And why was the visitor a Director of Biological R&D? Did he even understand investment?

Facing the President's confusion, William smiled and replied, "The company is a bit short-handed, and we don't have anyone specialized in this area for the moment, so I had to come personally."

William then handed over a document.

"Mr. President, this is our company's letter of intent. Please take a look and then sign your agreement."

The words were quite blunt. Carlos frowned as he flipped through this so-called letter of intent. After reading the first few pages, anger surged up from his heart.
