68: Chapter 68 Forced Landing

...

In the early morning, warm sunlight filtered through the leaves, spilling onto the vibrant grassland at the edge of the town. A cute little rabbit was leisurely enjoying this wonderful moment.

This was a rare, uninfected Eastern Cottontail.

A shadow fell over it.

"Wide field of view. This is a good spot,"

Lin Fang looked at the runway covering the entire stream and nodded in satisfaction. On the runway sat an airliner resembling a Boeing 787, with a range of about 15,000 kilometers—more than enough to reach the Eurasian continent.

But one problem lay before him: there was no pilot.

However, Lin Fang was best at solving problems. By yesterday afternoon, he had already achieved a five-star rating in *Microsoft Flight Simulator 2025*.

Takeoff, auto-cruise, landing.

It wasn't complicated.

"Buron, life is always full of adventures, don't you think?" At 35,000 feet, Captain Lin Fang, having set a straight-line cruise using the INS, said with some emotion:

"Just keep moving forward, and you'll always find a goal."

Co-pilot Buron's face was somewhat pale, his lips trembling as he said, "S-sir... the landing gear seemed to have been smashed during takeoff."

Lin Fang frowned. "You must be mistaken."

"Perhaps..." Looking at the red light on the console, the burly, bearded man silently crossed himself.

Perhaps Buron's prayers were effective.

The plane actually sailed safely for nearly ten hours. The outline of a continent was now faintly visible ahead.

Lin Fang chose to make an emergency landing on the sea, where safety was highest, because that's how he did it in the simulation game—a testament to his five-star-rated skills.

After some minor turbulence, the plane landed about 20 kilometers off the coast of the India.

On the inflatable slide, Clovia looked at the continental outline with tears of excitement. No matter what, she would never set foot on a plane again in her life.

The young man beside her was practically the incarnation of a demon.

Lin Fang was contemplating how to get to the coast when a horn sounded from his right. A medium-sized patrol ship quickly approached them.

It sent up sprays of seawater.

A man who appeared to be an officer stepped out and spoke sternly to the group, "Where are you from?"

The others didn't understand the words, but Lin Fang did.

"The Americas."

Hearing this perfectly enunciated Central Continent language, the officer on the patrol ship looked at this American youth with some surprise.

As it turned out, no country treated refugees particularly well, especially those of a different skin color. However, they were still taken ashore, where a soldier prepared to escort them to a survivor camp.

Once ashore,

Lin Fang also understood why the Central Continent's military from this timeline was here: they were reclaiming lost territory.

The bodies of infected creatures were piled into hill after hill along the roadside.

Clearly, the India had failed to intercept the T-Virus missiles. This highlighted the importance of air defense capabilities. The Himalayas had prevented the T-Virus from spreading further into the mainland.

Two airburst shells streaked past. Only after two bright flashes appeared in the distance did the sound of violent explosions reach their ears.

In the face of modern artillery fire, the infected creatures on the India were being harvested like wheat, row after row. Progress was extremely rapid, and the border line was continuously expanding.

This was destruction, but also New Life. Swift, rapid, and ruthless—this was the power of a nation. There was simply no room for mercy.

This insane line of artillery fire made Lin Fang feel a bit apprehensive.

May there be world peace.

Arriving at the entrance of the survivor camp and seeing the dirty, chaotic environment inside with only a few souls, Lin Fang lost any desire to enter.

"I need to see your commanding officer," Lin Fang said to the soldier behind him.

"You can speak Central Continent language?"

The young soldier, who had originally wanted to finish the escort mission quickly to go achieve merits, was instantly surprised.

Inside the temporary camp,

Wang Lei, with two bars and three stars on his shoulder, upon hearing a soldier report the discovery of an ability user, his first reaction was disbelief. However, he also understood that the soldiers under him wouldn't make baseless claims.

Thus, Lin Fang smoothly met the highest-ranking officer in this area.

"You're an ability user? Prove it to me."

Looking at this young foreigner with brown hair and blue eyes, Wang Lei said solemnly. He wanted to see just what this was all about.

The next instant, Wang Lei felt his seat disappear from under him. The harsh sunlight outside shone directly on his face.

"What the hell!"

——

And so, "Evan" and his family were sent overnight to the Academy of Sciences deep within the Central Continent. The former became their most precious experimental panda, well-fed and provided with everything he wanted. The Buron couple were also settled in a residential area outside the Academy of Sciences.

Lin Fang cooperated fully—blood draws when needed, experiments when required. He was actually quite curious about what they might discover.

Spatial Ability Research File:

Project Number: S-001 (Top Secret)

Research Subject: Evan Wilder (Suspected Spatial Ability User)

Research Location: Central Continent Fourth Biological Sciences Academy

Phase One: Basic Ability Assessment

Storage Space Parameters:

Volume Limit: Approximately 1 billion cubic meters

Mass Limit: No upper limit (Cannot be measured with existing conditions)

Storage Restriction: Cannot store organic living beings

Access Speed:

Storage: Instantaneous (Object must be in physical contact with his body)

Retrieval: Instantaneous (Can specify any coordinate within 3 meters)

Experiment One: Internal Space Detection

Stored a medium-sized detection device integrating functions like HD camera, temperature sensing, pressure detection, and signal transmission into the space. Retrieved after 1 hour.

Conclusion: Detection failed. All electromagnetic wave signals ceased immediately upon entering the space. No data changes in the detector after retrieval.

Experiment Two: Energy Change Experiment

Based on the failure of Experiment One, stored a 500g solid ice block with a surface temperature of -18°C and a 500g red-hot steel block with a surface temperature of 500°C into the space. Retrieved after 6 hours.

Conclusion: Thermodynamic processes completely halted, verifying absolute temporal stasis characteristics.

...

Summary: This is a powerful ability user. Strong abilities, stable personality, love peace (loves peace). Recommend national recruitment.

Of course, that last part of the summary was fabricated by Lin Fang himself. In reality, his space wasn't "stable"; accidental storage and loss of items occurred frequently.

Over the past month, with the increase in experiments, the Central Continent Academy of Sciences suffered heavy losses. Even the main academy building disappeared, which is why they moved to the Fourth Biological Sciences Academy.

"Dean Tang, I... I'm worried about damaging this instrument. Maybe we should just forget it."

In the laboratory, the young man looked worriedly at the machine before him, not daring to reach out.

This silver-white machine, he heard, was something they had worked overtime to build this month. It was extremely sensitive to spatial changes and of immense value.

Lin Fang was very concerned about potential mishaps.

"Don't worry, Evan. I know you're a good kid. It will definitely succeed this time,"

Tang Peiqiang, his hair completely silver, was very excited. If they made a discovery today, it would be a major breakthrough in humanity's exploration of space!

A few minutes later,

An ambulance, sirens wailing, rushed into the Fourth Biological Sciences Academy.
