158: Chapter 158 Giant God

The scene before him was bizarre and kaleidoscopic, the interior of the Wormhole blooming like layers of petals; in the blink of an eye, Lin Fang had arrived beneath the Wormhole.

The mecha displayed an external underwater pressure of 3.3 MPa, approximately 34 times Earth's atmospheric pressure.

The water quality here was distinctly different from Earth's; at the very least, Earth's oceans wouldn't be a strange shade of purple.

That wasn't the point. The point was that Lin Fang had already seen "Precursors" walking out of the buildings below. They weren't large individually, standing about 2.4 meters tall, and looked somewhat like oversized mantis shrimp standing upright.

Lin Fang thought for a moment. Were the so-called Precursors just a group of crustaceans living underwater? At this moment, the two small, black, beady eyes on their heads were staring at the mecha that had descended from the sky, their slender antennae swaying slightly in the water.

Forget it, whatever you have to say, tell it to my muzzles.

The armor on the mechanical arms of the Starbreaker opened, and two "Wavebreaker" heavy underwater missiles trailed bubbles as they shot straight toward the Precursors' location.

The group of mantis shrimp clearly panicked, scattering in all directions like a startled school of shrimp.

The missiles accurately slammed into the area where they had previously gathered.

"Boom—!"

A dull, massive roar propagated underwater, carrying more impact than it would in the air. A massive cavitation bubble formed instantly at the center of the explosion, only to be immediately filled by the surrounding seawater.

Wherever the shockwave passed, the fleeing Precursors were struck as if by an invisible giant hammer. Their carapaces were defenseless against such violent force, and fragments of shell mixed with some kind of blue biological fluid diffused into the purple seawater.

With just one strike, this group of Precursors suffered heavy casualties.

Just as Lin Fang was about to fire another round, he saw the Precursors who had survived the missile explosion perform a completely unexpected action.

They didn't continue to flee, nor did they attack.

Instead, they knelt down in unison. They slowly retracted their sickle-shaped forelimbs, crossing them over their chests as if performing a salute.

The two following mechas, "Polaris Guard" and "Tango Wolf," arrived to see this exact scene.

These so-called Precursors began to mutter to themselves collectively. The mecha captured a segment of dull acoustic signals, but Lin Fang couldn't hear them clearly. While water is an excellent conductor of sound, it is also a natural distortion field; just like two people talking face-to-face underwater, the sound you hear is blurred and deformed.

After listening carefully a few times, Lin Fang finally understood what they were saying.

Tsk, these mantis shrimp actually know how to speak American English.

Their words were roughly: "Great... being who drives the Kaiju... please... listen to our humble voices..."

Emm...

How did they surrender without even a fight?

Lin Fang became interested. The Starbreaker's massive body stepped heavily in front of them, and the two mechas that arrived later did the same.

Among the Precursors, one slightly larger individual who looked like a leader stood up and pointed a forelimb toward the rear, seemingly signaling for them to follow.

"Land..."

Land? Hearing this blurred word, Lin Fang frowned as he looked at the 20-odd Precursors below, inwardly doubting their words.

Surrender? Leading the way? Or a trap?

It's safer if they're dead. The doubt only swirled in his mind for a moment before Lin Fang decided to kill them.

The massacre began.

The humility and anticipation in the eyes of these kneeling Precursors didn't even have time to transform before they were completely pulverized under the concentrated fire of humanity's top combat weapons.

Until the very end, not a single monster appeared to stop them.

Afterward, Lin Fang controlled the mecha to search the vicinity for a while but found nothing of value, not even the nests that produced the monsters.

Did I kill the wrong ones?

Looking at the floating corpses of the Precursors, Lin Fang silently apologized, hoping they could forgive him.

Next, he had no choice but to explore in the direction the leader had pointed.

The three mechas took heavy steps, crushing glowing fungal clumps and strange, twisted coral on the seabed as they advanced toward the direction indicated by the "leader."

Along the way, Lin Fang saw more low-lying buildings constructed from a combination of biological secretions and minerals. The style was distorted, possessing none of the aesthetic sense of humanity.

The further they went, the more the terrain gradually rose.

Gradually, Lin Fang felt the light in the water ahead brighten; it seemed they were no longer far from the surface.

It was just as Lin Fang thought.

Two minutes later, the head of the "Starbreaker" mecha emerged from the water. The first thing Lin Fang saw were two strange celestial bodies overlapping each other in the sky.

The dark red light they emitted bathed the land, dyeing everything in an ominous hue. Was this the "sun" of this world?

While Lin Fang was thinking, the mecha had already stepped onto land. Beneath its feet was some kind of blue fungal carpet, which, combined with the vast purple ocean behind them, made the entire world look somewhat bizarre.

The atmospheric composition was similar to Earth's, except the sulfur dioxide content was far higher, and the air was filled with some kind of spores.

Perhaps Lin Fang could survive here with his physique and Force Field, but for ordinary humans, this place was undoubtedly lethal.

Suddenly,

Raleigh, the pilot of the Polaris Guard responsible for reconnaissance, said urgently, "Sir, nine o'clock! A swarm of monsters!"

Lin Fang looked over. Over a hundred monsters of various forms were surging toward them!

They were massive, all at least Category 3 or higher monsters.

Rumble—

The scene of these monsters surging forward was terrifying. Except for Lin Fang, everyone else gasped.

Just as the three mechas were preparing to face the impact, the monster swarm that had been surging like a tide stopped dozens of meters away from them. These monsters were not disorganized; they were roughly arranged by size and type, remaining strangely still.

Lin Fang probably knew the reason why.

Standing atop the heads of these monsters—including a giant beast comparable to "Poison Woman"—were several figures. They were the Precursors that Lin Fang thought looked like mantis shrimp.

It turned out the Precursors were actually amphibious creatures.

After the monsters stopped, the giant beast in the center slowly walked toward the three mechas. Lin Fang also saw the Precursor on its head; its carapace had unique golden spiral patterns, and it was twice the size of the others, nearly six meters tall.

This oversized golden mantis shrimp spoke in American English that Lin Fang could understand, its tone respectful.

"Kaiju Pilot, please reveal yourself."

Kaiju? Do the Precursors call these mechas Kaiju?

While Lin Fang was wondering, the Precursor leader made a gesture. The beast swarm in the rear stirred slightly, and a smaller monster quickly ran over. In its mouth, it carried a large portrait on some kind of smooth biological material. Although the color palette was uniform, the subject was still clearly visible.

When Lin Fang saw the contents of the portrait, even with his composure, he couldn't help but be stunned.

What was on the portrait wasn't some abstract totem or unknown creature at all.

It was none other than... Venom!

...

Owe two chapters, will make them up today. Will start pushing the real-world company factions later.

Happy National Day!
