324: Chapter 324 Radon

Two days ago, when Sean discovered his body was occupied by an unknown existence, his heart was filled with extreme fear.

Sean had even planned to report this incredible matter to the Company, but before he could act, he saw the threat left by that demon. This demon claimed that if Sean dared to reveal this matter, he would go after Sean's younger brother.

This was exactly what Sean feared most.

At the same time, this demon also said that as long as he cooperated, Sean would receive great benefits.

Thinking of this, Sean's gaze fell once again on the silver star on his shoulder.

Major... This was the status Sean had previously dreamed of, the resources and authority that came with it—everything Sean, as a corporal, hadn't even dared to dream of.

Sean swallowed hard, feeling somewhat nervous.

This was a crisis, but it was also a massive opportunity falling from the sky, perhaps a chance for him to escape the fate of a low-level soldier?

The next morning, Lin Fang's Company assembled; clearly, they were going into battle. This movement drew the attention of many people in the base.

Lin Fang's gaze swept across the ranks as he displayed the authority of a Company commander: "Attention! Our objective for this mission is the volcano on Mara Island, Mexico. We depart and board in ten minutes. Remember, obey orders, maintain strict discipline. We shall defend the glory of Jushen Company!"

"For Jushen Company!" the soldiers shouted in unison.

Many people now felt that this new Company commander was much more passionate than the previous old-fashioned one.

A moment later, over a dozen large transport planes emblazoned with the Jushen Company logo rose from the ground and headed toward the target. Since it was a small-scale combat operation, it wasn't as spectacular as the situation on Skull Island; there wasn't even a single battleship overhead.

But if the situation became difficult, Lin Fang also had the authority to call for support.

The transport planes were not slow. After a two-hour flight, the combat unit arrived in the airspace over Mexican territory.

And once that country's government saw who the newcomers were, they didn't dare do anything to the helicopters; they simply couldn't afford to offend this Company.

Arriving at the Mara Island crater, the transport planes slowly landed five kilometers away from the volcanic cone. The massive rotors kicked up dust, blowing dry grass and gravel everywhere.

Lin Fang was the first to jump out of the cabin. A clear sensation of heat came from beneath his feet; the volcano was obviously in an active phase, and the air was thick with the smell of sulfur.

"I wonder if Rodan is inside..." he thought silently while looking at the crater, ordering his men to begin setting up defensive measures—which were also a trap. For a monster that could fly like Rodan, it wouldn't work without some specific methods.

After finishing these, a transport plane flew over the crater, and a high-explosive bomb with a power equivalent to 1,000 kilograms of TNT was dropped.

Boom—

A violent explosion rang out, shaking the ground. Under the impact of the bomb, this active volcano finally couldn't take it anymore and began to erupt!

Crimson lava, like a dragon breaking free from its shackles, surged out from the blasted fissure. Carrying temperatures of thousands of degrees, it traced glowing arcs across the sky, turning the surroundings into a sea of fire upon landing.

Just then, a screech came from deep within the crater. The sound did not belong to any known creature, carrying the majesty and fury of an ancient Titan.

Rodan! This monster sleeping deep within the volcano had finally awakened under the dual stimulation of the explosion and eruption.

There really was a monster in this volcano!

Komack and the others looked at Lin Fang, inevitably surprised by his command. By now, the trip had already been worthwhile; even if they didn't capture the monster, reporting this situation would be a credit to them.

"Sir, preliminary assessment indicates this is an A-rank monster with high danger," a soldier reported.

Lin Fang nodded slightly. "Get ready, it's found us!"

Rodan's body was perched on the crater, its fiery red eyes scanning the surroundings, searching for whoever had disturbed its slumber.

Before long, it spotted the fleeing transport planes and the humans below.

Rodan was enraged. It let out another screech, filled with the anger of being disturbed. With a flap of its wings, its massive body took to the air, weaving through the thick black volcanic ash.

Wherever the dark red figure passed, lava and gravel were swept aside by the wind from its wings, showing incredible destructive power.

But Komack and the others' firepower was faster than the monster. Before Rodan could get close, it was hit by the concentrated fire of various energy weapons.

And it wasn't just energy weapons; Lin Fang's Company also had a type of Armor-Piercing Thermal Explosive Round specifically developed by Jushen Company to target large biological units.

Upon hitting the target, this ammunition would first attempt to penetrate the outer armor with an extremely hard alloy core. Then, the high-energy chemicals inside would react violently, producing an instantaneous high-temperature explosion of thousands of degrees at the point of impact and releasing a powerful shockwave to target the biological tissue beneath the shell.

Even though Rodan was a massive monster with a wingspan of over 220 meters, it couldn't help but let out wails under the strike of these weapons.

This was one of the downsides of being large—it was very easy to hit.
