210: Chapter 210 Petrification

"Alimu, if you want to leave this place and return to your warm dormitory, you'd better listen to us."

Outside the isolation room, Yodelion spoke in an unfriendly tone, "Otherwise, you can just die here."

After speaking, Yodelion turned off the microphone in front of him and activated a stimulation program. Instantly, Alimu's pig-like screams echoed within the isolation room; the pain pierced straight to the bone.

This was a Neural Pulse Device developed by the company. Once implanted in the body, it could precisely stimulate the pain nerves, and the pain level could be adjusted freely.

Yodelion watched coldly, then turned to Lin Fang and said respectfully, "Boss, I heard you are from the Central Continent. No wonder it is known as a land of etiquette; you were still too polite to him just now. A test subject should have the awareness of a test subject."

Lin Fang, who had ordered the human experimentation to begin: ...

Lin Fang sighed and said, "That is why I need your help, Professor Yodelion. This world has become inexplicably dangerous, and I need to find out why."

Yodelion said solemnly, "Please don't say that, Boss. I have already sworn loyalty to you and to the company. This is my duty."

"Boss, you should just call me by my name from now on. You can call me Leon."

"How could I do that?"

"It's only right, it's only right. It would be my honor..."

During their conversation, Alimu, who had endured half a minute of torture, finally stopped screaming. After another two minutes, the pain gradually subsided, and he became much more compliant.

Yodelion turned the microphone back on and said, "Alimu, my patience is limited. If you still refuse to cooperate, you will experience that sensation again."

"No! No! No! I'll cooperate. I'll do whatever you want me to do."

Alimu curled up on the ground, his face pale.

"Very good," Yodelion nodded with satisfaction and continued, "Now stand up and walk into that black hole behind you."

"I..." Alimu looked behind him, hesitating.

"Ten seconds left."

"I'm going! I'm going in now!" Seeing that Yodelion was about to press the button on the desk and showed no mercy, Alimu could only walk toward the opening with tears streaming down his face.

As Alimu's figure disappeared into the opening, his situation on Andi Star appeared on the surveillance screen. The naked man was thus exposed to the air.

Alimu stepped on the slimy Creep, looking around in terror. What on earth was this place?

The unease in his heart made Alimu want to flee immediately, but before he could even turn around, Yodelion's devilish voice rang out again:

"Alimu, can you hear me? If you can, nod your head."

Alimu nodded.

"Walk forward fifty steps, or stop when I tell you to."

Alimu stepped forward tremblingly, his bare feet sinking into the slimy Creep. Every step brought a nauseating sensation. He stared intently at his feet, terrified that these blue living things would suddenly swallow him whole.

He only stopped after completing fifty steps.

Yodelion continued, "Alimu, you've done well. Now, you just need to stay here for half an hour and you can come back."

"Half an hour?!" Alimu couldn't stand staying in this place for even a minute and wanted to leave immediately.

Pain swept through the man's entire body once again.

"Aaaargh—!" Alimu couldn't take it and rolled around on the ground in pain. "Spare me! Spare me!"

This punishment lasted for a full minute. Alimu collapsed on the ground, gasping for air like a fish out of water, tears mixing with sweat as they fell.

"It seems you still haven't fully understood your current situation," Yodelion's cold voice rang out from the speaker. "The next time you violate an order, the duration of the pain will be extended to three minutes. You can see for yourself if you can endure it."

Alimu didn't even have the strength to answer at this point and could only nod weakly.

"Now, I'm going to ask you a few questions. If you answer truthfully, you can come back early."

Yodelion continued, "Do you feel anything unusual? For example, the smell in the air, sounds... or anything else that makes you feel uncomfortable?"

Hearing that he could return early, hope ignited in the man's eyes, so he forced himself to focus and sense his surroundings.

"I feel very nauseous, I want to vomit."

Yodelion hurriedly pressed, "What's the cause?"

"It's... it's the ground here!"

Alimu's voice suddenly erupted in terror. He subconsciously used his hands to push off the ground, trying to get away, but the ubiquitous slimy sensation made him even more nauseated. "These blue things are so disgusting. They feel alive, like they're sucking on my skin."

Alimu didn't know how to describe these things, nor did he know the word 'fungus'.

"Describe it more specifically."

"I don't know! I need to leave here right now!" Alimu screamed. He felt an indescribable chill approaching him.

"Alimu, listen to me. There's actually no danger here. You just need to stay for three more minutes..."

Yodelion tried to keep him calm and promised many benefits, but Alimu's sanity had already snapped.

"You're lying to me! It's coming! It's coming!" Alimu ran toward the exit like a madman.

Left with no choice, Yodelion had to turn the stimulation program installed in his body to maximum power, which was enough to paralyze his limbs and render them temporarily useless.

Alimu suddenly collapsed to the ground. Combined, the two factors caused a massive wave of fear to overwhelm him.

Suddenly, Alimu stopped struggling. His pupils turned gray, and he murmured, "It feels so good, hehe, it feels so good..."

Yodelion and Lin Fang watched the surveillance screen in astonishment. Alimu's exposed skin was losing its color at a rate visible to the naked eye. Even more hair-raising was that he seemed completely oblivious to it, appearing to be entranced instead.

A touch of grayish-white began to cover his body, as if some kind of transformation was occurring in his cellular structure.

A few minutes later, a lifelike human stone sculpture appeared on the Creep, maintaining a slumped sitting position with that eerie smile frozen on its face.

Watching him transform into a stone sculpture right before their eyes, everyone in the laboratory couldn't help but cry out in alarm, as if they had seen a ghost. How was this possible?!

How could a perfectly healthy living person turn into stone?

This defied all logic.

But facts were facts, and that couldn't be changed. Lin Fang and Yodelion glanced at each other, both seeing the gravity of the situation in the other's eyes.

Lin Fang, however, was thinking more deeply. He had clearly sent Clone Soldiers into Andi Star before, and they had even stayed there for three hours. Why were they fine?
