18: Chapter 18 Villa Renovation, Going Abroad!

...

By noon, a group of people carrying briefcases arrived at the villa. After repeated discussions, a villa renovation plan was placed before Lin Fang.

The middle-aged man leading them smiled so widely his face almost resembled a flower. 'Mr. Lin, this is the final plan then. We'll start work immediately.'

They were from a well-known security company.

No wonder the magpies were chirping this morning—a nearly ten-million-yuan deal had arrived.

And the client clearly wasn't short on money. Just for wall reinforcement, they opted for expensive alloy high-strength structural steel, and the security equipment was also the most advanced in the industry.

They could have a good New Year.

It's just...

The middle-aged man hesitated slightly. 'Mr. Lin, are you sure you want to integrate all these security facilities into an intelligent system?'

This was a request made earlier by the young man.

'Is that not possible?' Lin Fang countered.

'Of course not,'

the middle-aged man said with a wry smile. 'Mr. Lin, to be honest, our company's intelligent algorithms and technical services are top-tier in the industry. Integrating them isn't difficult, but there are still limitations. If vulnerabilities are found by someone with ill intent, the entire security system could be paralyzed.'

'I'd recommend keeping them separate,' the middle-aged man offered his advice.

Lin Fang, however, signed his name on the contract.

'Thank you for the reminder, Manager Pang, but let's proceed as I said.'

He only needed hardware support; Xiao Hei would completely overhaul all the algorithms.

With it in place, no one could hack in.

Seeing his insistence, Pang Feilong naturally didn't press further. He stood up politely with a smile and shook hands with Lin Fang.

'Mr. Lin, since you've decided, we will certainly do our utmost to build it well.'

'Thank you for your trouble.'

Only after the group had left did Zhou Hui, standing beside Lin Fang, belatedly realize something.

'Boss, is the world ending?'

'The world is not ending.'

Lin Fang glanced at him. 'Let's go. Time to find a new place to stay.'

——

In the waiting hall of Coastal Sea Airport,

Zhou Hui stared blankly at the blue Philippine passport in his hand. So the new place to stay involved going abroad? What puzzled him was, when had he ever applied for a Philippine passport? And the plane tickets?!

'Is this for real?'

'Didn't they just check it?' Lin Fang smiled. With Xiao Hei's formidable network penetration capabilities, these things were easily accomplished.

They could even forge a completely new fake identity.

The two smoothly boarded the plane and then passed through Philippine immigration inspection without any issues. This eerily powerful method made Zhou Hui look at his boss with newfound respect.

'Boss, why are we coming to this place?'

'To practice shooting,'

Lin Fang stated succinctly. He had decided to use the villa renovation period to come to the Philippines and 'unlock' his marksmanship skills. It wasn't that he couldn't practice domestically, but it was far less convenient than in gun-permissive foreign countries.

Thus, the Philippines, being close to the Central Continent, became the top choice. He didn't aim for great proficiency, just enough to not hit the butt when aiming for the head.

Filipinos primarily practiced Catholicism, with skin tones tending towards brown. Lin Fang arrived in their capital, Manila.

Lin Fang observed the city. To be honest, its prosperity was far inferior to Coastal Sea. Internet rumors were unreliable.

'At least the air is decent.'

Lin Fang sniffed the air and concluded.

He soon retracted that statement. On the way to the club, he witnessed an abrupt transition from prosperity to decline.

Behind the prosperity lay five to six million people living in poverty. As soon as garbage trucks from the city center finished dumping, crowds in ragged clothes swarmed in, searching for edible or usable treasures in the trash piles.

Even half a leftover fried chicken, taken back and processed a bit, could still serve as a 'delicious' meal.

'And a place like this dares to pick fights?'

Zhou Hui commented on the scene outside, occasionally snickering. Relations between the two countries hadn't been friendly lately.

'Ahem—' Lin Fang coughed, reminding him to be mindful. The driver's already dark face had now turned purple.

The driver, Rolando, looked at the impolite, burly man in the passenger seat, furious but not daring to speak out. Those muscles looked like trouble.

Moreover, the destination of these two Central Continent men was no ordinary place.

'Boss, what's the big deal? He speaks English, definitely doesn't understand Chinese,' Zhou Hui patted the driver's shoulder beside him and said loudly, 'Buddy, do you understand Chinese?'

'I... I don't understand.'

'Boss, see? I told you he doesn't understand Chinese.' Zhou Hui grinned widely at Lin Fang.

Lin Fang: ...

After about ten minutes, Lin Fang arrived at his destination: GK Shooting Club.

The spacious, well-decorated off-white building stood out prominently in this slum area, even cordoned off with two security barriers.

'Mr. Lin?'

As soon as they got out of the car, a tall, exotically beautiful woman in professional attire greeted them.

'That's me.' Lin Fang handed her his passport.

After verifying the information, the professional woman's smile grew even brighter. This was a big client who had purchased the $188,888 package.

'Thank you for choosing GK, Mr. Lin. We have the most professional instructors, the best facilities, and service. Please come in. Your resting room and dinner are already prepared.'

The professional woman led the two into the club. By now, dusk was settling in.

At the dining table,

a glossy, golden-brown roast suckling pig resembled a meticulously crafted work of art. The air carried a faint, enticing aroma. Lin Fang was sampling this Philippine national treasure of a dish.

It tasted excellent, but after a few more bites, it became somewhat cloying. Most of the pig later ended up in the burly man's stomach beside him.

...

After the meal, a clear-eyed, pretty waitress in a white dress led Lin Fang to a luxuriously decorated room.

'Mr. Lin, this is your room. I wish you a pleasant rest.'

'Are you from the Central Continent?'

Lin Fang looked at this waitress whose Chinese was very standard and whose features clearly showed Central Continent characteristics.

'Yes, Mr. Lin. Is there anything else you need me to handle?' the waitress replied frankly.

'No, that's all...'

After a simple wash-up, Lin Fang went to the window to admire the Philippine night view. The scene was quite interesting: on one side, the dazzling neon lights of the prosperous commercial district; on the other, the faint glow from simple light bulbs.

And his location happened to be right between the two.
