147: Chapter 147 The Man in Black

What does it feel like to have nearly ten million tons of soil smash into your face? The 'Abyssal Python,' the fastest Category IV serpentine Kaiju, could certainly attest to it.

In its line of sight, its parasitized kin had leaped high after climbing a skyscraper; the next second, the sky above it suddenly went dark.

A torrent of earth and stone that blotted out the sun suddenly appeared in the previously empty sky, collapsing like an inverted mountain range and accelerating downward under the force of gravity.

The 'Abyssal Python' had just raised its hundred-meter-long head when it saw the entire sky covered in soil. Its simple nervous system didn't even have time to react before ten million tons of earth came crashing down.

Rumble!!!

The earth shook violently as if a magnitude ten earthquake had occurred. Dust billowed into the sky as this section of the city ruins rose above the surface once more.

The terrain had been altered.

At the very top, Venom excitedly slapped the ground with his bladed tail, sending rocks flying. "Fang, I almost got buried in there!"

"Next, it's my turn."

The Abyssal Python was as dead as could be. After Venom placed Lin Fang on an intact rooftop, he turned and sprinted forward, his massive frame displaying startling agility.

He leaped down from the towering ruins and lunged toward the three uneasy Kaiju.

The sight left people speechless.

Immediately, the four monsters clashed. Venom began fighting one against three without losing ground, but the Category V Kaiju 'Broodmother' suddenly let out a piercing shriek. A bloody fissure appeared on its abdomen, and countless miniature monsters the size of hounds swarmed out like a tide!

These creatures were pitch black, covered in smooth carapaces, and made skin-crawling clicking sounds as they moved.

Their speed was staggering. The sharp bone claws at the ends of their limbs allowed them to bounce and maneuver through the ruins. In the blink of an eye, they climbed onto Venom's body and tried to burrow inside. Venom began howling in pain from the bites and started to retreat.

Seeing things take a turn for the worse, the humans dispatched several fighter squadrons to coordinate the battle.

Cannon fire, roars—

For a moment, the scene was chaotic. Sitting at the highest point, Lin Fang watched with great interest, his eyes barely blinking. If he weren't already wealthy, he would have wanted to film this scene and take it back to release. The movie would be called 'Pacific Rim 3: Legend of the Venom Kaiju.'

Such a realistic scene would definitely be a massive hit.

The battle lasted for a long time, eventually ending in Venom's victory. Faced with Venom's formidable regenerative abilities, the three Kaiju suffered a tearful defeat.

"Keep birthing! Go on, keep birthing!" Venom roared while tearing away, directly ripping out the Broodmother's reproductive system by the roots!

Venom only stopped once the Broodmother was at death's door. In its final fading vision, it saw a human boy slowly walking toward it.

[Successfully evacuated from the Pacific Rim Dimension. Obtained resources: Kaiju 'Broodmother']

[Pacific Rim Dimension weight increased. Current weight: 68%]

Inside the Black Watch Base, Lin Fang reappeared on the platform and pondered the newly increased weight. It seemed this trip's harvest was decent.

Because the weight wasn't at maximum, the Spacetime Package could only bring out one individual. Thus, Venom remained in the Pacific Rim Dimension to help various nations clear out the remaining Kaiju. In return, the nations had to hand over their technical data.

And they had to hand it over first. Although most of the data would be redundant, it was better than nothing.

"Black Star, sell."

[Please confirm the transaction. Selling the Kaiju 'Broodmother' will grant 3,288 plunder points.]

"Confirm."

Lin Fang looked at his plunder points, which had jumped to the very auspicious number of 7,044. By his estimation, this should be enough to spend.

Rarely, Lin Fang showed a look of anticipation.

It wasn't that this monster was worth so much on its own, but rather that Lin Fang had stuffed the technical data given to him by the Central Continent into its mouth to bring back. The most valuable parts were undoubtedly the Jaeger manufacturing and neural bridge technologies, and their helicopter technology wasn't bad either.

Emm...

Using only two helicopters to pull a multi-thousand-ton Jaeger—who could say that wasn't black technology?

Returning to his laboratory, Lin Fang casually said, "Little Black, play the movie 'Men in Black.'"

[Boss, there are four Men in Black movies. Which one would you like to watch?]

"All of them." Lin Fang brewed himself a cup of coffee, preparing to enjoy the series.

Soon, the first movie began to play.

The plot of this Spielberg-produced film wasn't complex. Due to constant warfare in outer space, a large number of aliens came to Earth for refuge. The American Immigration Bureau specifically established the top-secret Division 6, the "Men in Black" organization, responsible for monitoring and managing extraterrestrial life on Earth to protect the planet's safety.

Lin Fang didn't actually care about the story; what he cared about was the high technology featured within, as it happened to contain what he needed.

At triple speed, Lin Fang quickly finished the series. The screen paused on the neuralyzer held by Agent H.

It was made entirely of an unknown silver metal and shaped like a large cigar.

Speaking of which, aside from the Black Star refusing to let him become a 'loan superhero,' this was the first time Lin Fang wanted to exchange for technology from a movie with the Black Star.

The benefits of a neuralyzer for the company went without saying. it could solve most subsequent troubles arising from exposed operations—efficient, discreet, and without the need for silencing witnesses. This perfectly fit Lin Fang's current needs; the company was a positive image, not a villainous organization that slaughtered everyone wherever they went.

Lin Fang pointed at the screen and said, "Black Star, purchase a neuralyzer like the one in there."

If he wasn't specific, he really feared the Black Star might act out and give him some strange gadget.

[Please confirm the transaction. It will cost 2,000 plunder points.]

"Cancel."

Since it was within an acceptable range, Lin Fang was definitely going to squeeze as much as possible out of the Black Star. He continued, "I want two."

[Please confirm the transaction. It will cost 2,000 plunder points.]

"100 units."

"20,000 units."

Lin Fang tested for nearly half an hour before finally finding the purchase limit: 10 neuralyzers and their manufacturing technical data. Any more and the Black Star would raise the price.

[Transaction successful.]

Lin Fang, who thought they would appear out of thin air, didn't see the neuralyzers in front of him. After some searching, he found they had appeared in the warehouse; a new icon for a silver box had appeared there.

So that's how the transaction worked—similar to plundering.

Next were the weapons. Lin Fang was extremely envious of the energy weapons featured in Men in Black.

Even if the clone soldiers had top-tier qualities, the gap in weaponry was still difficult to bridge. Modern warfare had long since moved beyond the realm of human-led dominance; it was often a contest of whose firepower was more ferocious.
