96: Chapter 96 Don't they have any sense of public morality late at night?

Whoosh—

With a sound that ripped through the air, a middle-aged man in a security uniform felt a sharp pain in his neck, let out a muffled groan, and fell to the ground with wide, staring eyes.

He didn't even have time to pick up his communicator.

"Nice shot, Rafus. Hitting the target from this distance."

"Heh, R4 high-efficiency tranquilizer dart. The latest from Telinject. Takes down an elephant in five seconds flat."

After surveying the area with his night-vision goggles, Lesser said in a low voice, "Alright, Terren, you take care of the two in that room."

"Be careful!"

"Don't worry, Captain. It's a piece of cake," said the man named Terren as he changed into a security uniform, pulled his cap low, and strode straight toward the target.

Zeus watched the scene with great interest.

Inside the monitoring room, the two men looked at their companion who had suddenly appeared at the door with surprise. One of them said:

"Daniu, slacking off again? You can't do that. The higher-ups said things have been restless lately."

"Something came up suddenly. My Lord has sent me to show you mercy."

The Chinese words carried a thick British accent. Just as the two men were starting to feel alarmed, they saw the newcomer dart forward, leap into the air, and strike with hands and feet. A fierce assault instantly loomed large in their vision!

—

"Captain, we can get in through the ventilation duct above."

A lean man agilely climbed down from the top of the R&D building. The smooth wall surface seemed to offer him no resistance at all.

Some time later.

Inside the building, seeing the green light on the decoder illuminate, even Lesser's steady heart couldn't help but stir. In his view, this company's security was already quite formidable. If not for his team's extensive experience and the help of a top-tier hacker, anyone else would have had to retreat in defeat.

The reward for this mission was exceptionally generous.

At that moment, Zeus, who was browsing files, spoke with an excited smile, as if he had discovered a new toy. "Hmm? The Star Hub system... Not bad, quite interesting."

Taking out a portable USB drive, Zeus plugged it in and began typing rapidly.

After about ten minutes, the young white man's forehead was beaded with cold sweat.

Especially under the watchful eyes of the others nearby...

Damn it, not a single vulnerability? It seems this system is impenetrable. How is that possible? A perfect system like this cannot exist in the world.

Lesser checked the time and felt a pang of unease. "Expert Zeus, we need to withdraw in five minutes."

They hadn't found any physical documents. Their only hope now rested on Zeus.

"Give me a little more time,"

Zeus said coldly. The calm in his eyes had completely vanished, replaced by a stubborn, almost frenzied refusal to admit defeat. He had been famous since his youth and hadn't tasted failure in a long time.

This was a disgrace.

In this situation, the opponent was like a beautiful woman stripped naked, yet he couldn't find a way in.

There must be a vulnerability. There has to be one.

Maybe it's lower down.

Time ticked by. Just as Zeus was about to despair, he finally found a deeply hidden vulnerability.

Found you!

Overjoyed, Zeus typed on the keyboard and successfully entered the server's interior.

Seeing this, Captain Lesser also let out a sigh of relief, though he couldn't help feeling a sense of lingering fear. This company's network defense was truly terrifying.

They had still underestimated this company.

"Withdraw!" Seeing the mission accomplished, Lesser waved his hand. These elite aces from the Orion Security Company quickly evacuated the massive technology park.

In the end,

Terren even blew a kiss toward the surveillance camera at the entrance—his signature move after completing a mission.

"Goodbye, my darling."

—

Eclipse Bar.

If given another chance, Lia swore she would never set foot on the Central Continent again in this lifetime. Tonight's ordeal was nothing short of a nightmare.

Absurd and bizarre!

Watching her teammates on the screen laughing and chatting, even Captain Lesser's face was full of smiles. Yet, Lia felt no joy in her heart, only endless sorrow.

This was merely a performance for others to enjoy.

They were like monkeys putting on a show, chattering and cheering with great effort, unaware that their exit depended solely on the whim of the one behind the curtain.

Across from her, Lin Fang suddenly yawned.

Lia's heart sank. She understood. The devil had lost interest in the performance. It was time to exit. The show... was coming to an end.

—

"Expert Zeus, we owe tonight's success to you,"

Inside an ordinary Mitsubishi van on the ring road, Terren flattered the young man beside him. "I, Terren, have never admired anyone in my life. Expert Zeus, you're the first!"

Ahem.

Lesser, who was driving, coughed. The scar running across his face seemed to writhe under the van's interior light.

"Of course, Captain, you're the second,"

Terren quickly amended, changing his tone.

The atmosphere in the van grew cheerful. Even Lesser couldn't help but crack a slight smile. He was about to say something when his eyes suddenly caught sight of a dark figure appearing in the middle of the road.

The figure stood out starkly on the empty road. The RPG launcher on his shoulder gleamed coldly under the streetlights. Lesser's pupils contracted sharply, and his fingers instinctively jerked the steering wheel.

"Watch out, RPG!!"

Boom—!!!

The rocket streaked forward with an orange-red tail flame, striking the front of the van with precision. The massive shockwave flipped the entire vehicle over. The Mitsubishi van tumbled twice in the air before crashing heavily onto the roadside greenbelt.

In an apartment,

the noise woke a young man who had just begun to doze off. Hearing the commotion, he threw off his blanket and started cursing loudly. "Looking to die? Who's setting off fireworks so late at night with no sense of public decency!"

"I'll come out and beat you up if I have to!"

Only when he angrily opened the window and saw the distant flames did the young man's eyes widen in shock. Trembling, he pulled out his phone.

"Hello, 110? There's a war going on here. Are you going to do something about it..."

—

Lesser spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, his eyes nearly bursting with rage as he stared at the burning wreckage of the van. Faced with this sudden ambush, only he and the highly skilled Terren had managed to jump out in time. The other two teammates and the highly valued Expert Zeus had perished in the explosion.

Who had attacked them?

Swift, powerful footsteps approached from the distance. Lesser saw the newcomer—a powerfully built man in a suit with Asian features. In the firelight, his eyes held not a shred of warmth, looking at the two of them as if they were already dead.

Suddenly, Terren, who had been gasping on the ground, sprang up like a leopard. The instant he reached the suited man, he leaped upward, using his own momentum and weight to wrap his legs like iron pincers around the other's neck!

This move was one of the most lethal in hand-to-hand combat. Its key lay in the user's flexibility and coordination. A master could even throw an opponent three or four meters away, inflicting dual trauma from the impact and the throat lock!

A fierce look crossed Terren's face. He had used this move to crush the Adam's apples of over a hundred people. This time would be no exception.

However, the next second, the suited man raised his left arm to block with even greater speed. His right hand formed a claw that gripped Terren's ankle, then swung him like a sandbag and smashed him heavily onto the ground.

*Crack!*

The crisp sound of a spine snapping was especially distinct even amidst the crackling of the flames.
