66: Chapter 66 Preparing to Set Off for Middle-earth
...
If there was anything more infuriating to a father than his son not recognizing him, it was probably his son pointing a gun at him. Blown Wilder believed that the young man before him wasn't the somewhat cowardly Evan; he had never seen such a sharp expression on Evan's face.
A demon had possessed Evan's body.
But after he produced a medical kit out of thin air, Blom felt that this matter wasn't so unacceptable; after all, it was a life-saving favor.
"Sir, you saved my life. I won't forget your kindness," Blom said gratefully, sitting in the tank's cabin.
Lin Fang nodded slightly. To save him, he had consumed two of his icons.
On the way back, the number of Infected blocking the road had visibly decreased by more than half. Clearly, the Infected in this small town had been nearly wiped out, but it was no longer fit for survival.
The entire Western Hemisphere was the same.
"1... 2... 3, all here."
After picking up these three obedient survivors, Lin Fang decided to return. As for whether there were others, it was none of his business.
By then, the first light of dawn was breaking. Lucianna stood by the third-floor window; she hadn't closed her eyes all night, staring at the street and silently reciting prayers.
The roar of the engine broke the silence of dawn. Lucianna's fingertips tightly gripped the windowsill. When that blood-stained tank crushed through the debris and slowly drove into the street, she almost held her breath.
"Do you need me to invite you down?"
After the tank hatch opened, Lin Fang looked at the three people still on top and asked in confusion.
"No, no, no, we're coming down now."
The three survivors lying on top of the tank scrambled down tremblingly. Their faces were pale and covered in blood; no one knew what they had experienced last night.
It was something so terrifying that even Satan would find it horrifying.
When Lucianna stepped out of the room and saw her husband being helped out of the tank cabin, she couldn't help but cover her mouth. No matter who "Evan" was, it didn't matter now.
"I'm fine." After getting down, Blom hugged her while dragging his injured leg, his face full of relief.
——
After the shaken group gathered for breakfast, their expressions gradually stabilized.
Claudia looked at the young man resting on the sofa and secretly clenched her fist. By now, the blood on her had been washed away, and her youthful face combined with her graceful figure gave her confidence once again.
After adjusting her breathing, Claudia walked over with a bright smile. "Sir, thank you so much."
"Thank me for what?"
Hearing this, Lin Fang opened his eyes and spoke gently.
Seeing Lin Fang's eyes, Claudia couldn't help but tremble. Last night, he had used this same tone to say "get out of the way" before driving the tank over that person. He was truly cold-blooded and heartless.
"Thank you... for protecting me."
Claudia tried her best to control her voice, speaking in an admiring tone, "If you need me to do anything... I can do anything."
"I'd be very happy to."
Hearing this,
Lin Fang's eyes lit up, and he looked at her approvingly. "There is indeed something I need your help with."
After Lucianna led Claudia to get a hose and a high-pressure nozzle from the warehouse, she patted her shoulder encouragingly.
"You are a girl who knows how to show gratitude."
That's not actually what I was thinking...
Claudia looked at the tank covered in tissue fragments, then at the nozzle in her hand, and once again showed an expression of despair.
"In about a week, I will take you all away from here first,"
In the room, Lin Fang said to Lucianna and the bandaged Blom, "Leaving the Western Hemisphere for the East, most likely heading to the Central Continent."
At least finding a stable place for these two would make it easier for him to explore.
"Sir..."
The Wilders naturally had no objections. Having witnessed his miraculous power, the two didn't ask how Lin Fang would travel to the distant Central Continent; they just kept thanking him.
The day passed quickly,
But it wasn't until evening that Claudia and the other two finished cleaning the tank parked in the yard, ensuring it no longer emitted a repulsive smell.
Seeing Lin Fang come out, Claudia hurriedly stepped forward and said joyfully, "Sir, we've cleaned the tank."
She didn't take all the credit for herself; that would be very unwise.
"Good job,"
Lin Fang said casually, walking over to put away the ZXK173-300 Main Battle Tank. There was nothing else nearby worth taking.

"It's what I should—"
Claudia was about to speak when she saw this scene, her mouth agape, unable to say the rest of her words.
She stared blankly as Lin Fang walked back into the room.
——
"Sir, what would you like for dinner?"
Evan heard Lucianna's voice just as he opened his eyes.
"Mother, what did you call me? Where is this? Didn't I need to save Father?"
"Oh no!"
Before Lucianna could react, Evan rushed out and said loudly, "Don't stop me! If I don't go find him, I'll regret it for the rest of my life!"
*Clack—*
After Evan opened the door, he saw an unexpected person sitting in a chair, happily wiping a black rifle.
"Father, why are you here?!"
"Sir..." Blom realized as he looked at his son's dazed expression; his silly son was back.
Ten-odd minutes later,
Evan clutched his head in terror, speaking to the two as if he couldn't believe it: "Are you saying another person occupied my body, killed all the zombies in town, and even saved you?!"
In his opinion, this was something even more terrifying than the T-Virus.
"Evan, you must remember, your body no longer belongs only to you. Be careful to rest," Lucianna said in a solemn tone.
Blom's tone wasn't as kind: "Don't let others see anything wrong. Also, don't masturbate!"
"Did you hear me?"
"I understand..." Seeing that neither of them intended to speak up for him, Evan couldn't help but feel aggrieved and chilled to the bone.
Why did no one ask for his opinion?

In the villa, Lin Fang put the tank back into the warehouse. Looking at the hundreds of icons in the warehouse, he was in high spirits. The feeling of being a collector was indeed good, but it was far from enough; he was still a long way from a scene that contained everything.
Furthermore,
Lin Fang clenched his fist and sighed with emotion. His own body was still more pleasant. That body where his hand would get sore after firing a few shots was truly unbearable for even a day. Perhaps there were other additions to dimension-crossing; otherwise, one would surely go insane.
It's time to continue training my new ability.
