347: Chapter 347 Ghidorah

The meeting was rather dull, mostly consisting of the same old reports from the commanders of each brigade about troop strength, equipment losses, and logistical supplies—dry and lengthy data.

Listening to it made Lin Fang drowsy. Back at the company, with help from Xiao Hei, Xu Anqing, and others, he never had to deal with such matters; he usually only needed the final results.

As for the equipment he had been quietly misappropriating on the side, Kaiju Company had vast resources and didn't mind such minor losses.

As Lin Fang was pondering what to take with him when evacuating today, General McLaren on the stage suddenly raised his hand, signaling the logistics officer who was reporting to stop. The venue instantly fell silent, and everyone realized the real topic of discussion had arrived.

"Everyone..."

McLaren said solemnly, "Company headquarters has ordered us to capture a Kaiju with a danger level of S alive within a week. The purpose of gathering everyone here today is to hear your opinions. Anyone with information about the monster or a feasible plan can speak freely."

Upon hearing this, the attendees exchanged glances. A danger level of S—they had never encountered such a Kaiju before. The giant ape they hunted on Skull Island back then was only a B-level.

Involuntarily, everyone's gaze turned toward the center of the venue, to the position of the First Division, where a brigade commander named Sean had recently become a hotshot in Argus Base.

Including General McLaren on the stage, "Brigadier General Sean, can you find information on an S-level Kaiju?"

Lin Fang suddenly understood—this was the reason he had been specifically summoned. At the same time, he began to ponder: if Kong, that handsome fellow, was only B-level, then in the movie's plot, only three could be considered S-level.

If he remembered correctly, one was deep within the ice layers of the Antarctic.

——

Two days later, a massive fleet of fighter jets headed toward the Antarctic. Since Lin Fang had proposed the lead, this operation was assigned to the entire First Heavy Assault Division.

The mission objective was to capture the S-level Kaiju codenamed Ghidorah, hibernating beneath the ice. If successful, the entire division would receive significant commendation.

"Sean, how did you know about the whereabouts of these Kaiju?"

On the fighter jet speeding through the stratosphere, Division Commander Hawk looked somewhat puzzled at the young man beside him.

Lin Fang smiled and replied, "Sir, I've just read a wide variety of books and happened to come across some records."

Hawk nodded, dismissing this as nonsense.

"Sir, Ghidorah won't be easy to deal with. I think we should request fleet support for assistance."

Lin Fang suggested. In the movie, it was nearly invincible; if not for Godzilla's last-minute power-up, the outcome would have been uncertain.

Hawk glanced at him and said, "Brigadier General Sean, no need to say more. I'll assess the situation as it comes."

Lin Fang understood his meaning perfectly well. He smiled and said nothing further.

For this mission, Lin Fang believed that without deploying the fleet, the division's strength alone wouldn't be enough to handle Ghidorah. In the movie, this three-headed dragon could control lightning, tear through armor, and ignore tank artillery. Although Kaiju Company's weapons were more advanced, it was still a risky gamble.

Unless it remained in deep slumber.

——

The aerial carrier fleet and Goshawk-X series fighters deployed by the Argus Legion were fast, quickly arriving over the Antarctic and beginning to deploy ground troops.

Thud—

A dull thud echoed as several craters were punched into the glacier. A crab-like transforming tank landed heavily, followed by others descending like dumplings into boiling water, all carrying out military deployments with remarkable discipline.

Simultaneously, a portion of the team began exploring beneath the ice layers, attempting to locate the slumbering giant beast.

It must be said, these people were incredibly efficient. After a day and night of exploration, they successfully detected anomalous signals at a 300-meter-deep ice fault in the heart of the northern region of the Antarctic.

Beneath the ice, the monster's body gleamed with dark golden scales. Its three massive, ferocious heads were terrifying; even through the thick ice, the ancient Titan's oppressive aura made the reconnaissance team that discovered it gasp for breath.

"Report, target located! Repeat, target located! Coordinates: 76° North, 150° East, 300 meters beneath the ice. Target remains in hibernation!" The voice of the reconnaissance company commander came through the communicator, energizing Hawk and the others in the temporary base.

Moments later, images of Ghidorah were transmitted back.

Lin Fang's pupils contracted. This Kaiju was more imposing than he remembered, easily over 200 meters tall.

Hawk and several senior officers also looked grave. Compared to this monster, their previous encounters seemed trivial.

"This is definitely S-level!" an officer stated with certainty.

"Correct. Now we need to figure out how to capture this beast..."

Before Lin Fang could interject, they quickly devised an action plan: drill through the ice, inject two tons of high-efficiency sedative into its body, then blast open the ice to excavate the giant creature.

Once the order was given,

the entire division sprang into action. Half an hour later, a report came in: "Report, ice layer breached! Injection channel ready!"

"Proceed with injection," Hawk said.

Several soldiers pushed a high-pressure injection chamber along the channel toward Ghidorah, driving the injection tube deep into the gaps between its scales. Two tons of high-efficiency sedative slowly flowed into the monster's body. Throughout the process, Ghidorah remained in deep slumber, showing no signs of awakening.

Seeing this, Hawk and the senior officers breathed a sigh of relief. This sedative was specially developed by the company for such Kaiju—a single milligram could knock out an elephant. With two tons administered, this S-level Ghidorah would surely be unconscious for days, giving them ample time to complete the mission.

After all personnel inside the ice layer had evacuated, directional explosives planted around the perimeter were detonated simultaneously.

Boom—!

An earth-shattering explosion reverberated across the Antarctic ice field. The 300-meter-thick ice shattered like glass, massive ice pillars collapsing thunderously. Ghidorah's 200-meter-tall colossal form was fully exposed to the biting cold wind.

Its three ferocious heads still had their vertical pupils tightly shut, and its enormous wings were folded behind it. It appeared to remain in a deep coma, completely undisturbed by the violent explosion.

The soldiers began to cheer, preparing for the transport operation.

A confident smile spread across Division Commander Hawk's face. He picked up the communicator to report their success to General McLaren but noticed Sean beside him holding military binoculars, frowning deeply. As if uncertain, Sean aimed them again at Ghidorah for a closer look.

"Sean, have you noticed something?"

Hawk asked. The successful completion of this company-assigned mission owed much to the other. Although usually a bit unreliable, Hawk now viewed him quite favorably.

"Sigh—"

Lin Fang lowered the binoculars, wearing a thoroughly exasperated expression as he spoke to Hawk.

"Sir, I'm quite certain... I saw it smile."
