197: Chapter 197 United Nations Trade Commission

The Nuclear Fusion reactor was placed at the very bottom of the base. Passing through isolation doors and taking a high-speed elevator deep into the rock core, when the final alloy gate, several meters thick, slid open silently, the sight before them was enough to make any witness hold their breath.

Below was a massive ring-shaped device with an even more complex structure at its base, spanning a full hundred meters in diameter. On the outside of the ring's main body, countless superconducting coils were densely wound, these cables shimmering with a faint light in the ultra-low temperature environment.

A group of people in protective suits were busy working in front of it.

Yan Wei-geng was a nuclear physicist he had picked up from the PDA Organization back then. Lin Fang had only met him once when he handed over the project, and hadn't checked in since.

It seemed this man's ability was quite formidable; the progress was much faster than Lin Fang had imagined.

Seeing Lin Fang approach, a person hurried over to greet him. The nameplate on his chest displayed his name and identity: Liu Yaowen, Assistant Researcher.

Lin Fang didn't recognize him; he was likely a talent recruited by the company from somewhere.

Liu Yaowen ran up to Lin Fang and spoke with a hint of nervousness, "Boss, Chief Engineer Yan is busy, so he sent me to receive you."

Lin Fang said as he walked, "No need for such trouble. Is everything going smoothly?"

"Smoothly!" Speaking of this, Liu Yaowen's voice grew excited. "There's a high probability the first experiment will be a success. When that happens, the first stable Nuclear Fusion device in human history will have come from our company!"

"Then I shall wait and see."

Lin Fang didn't go over to disturb the scientists; instead, he went to the observation deck, where the view was even more direct.

On the other side, Yan Wei-geng had also reached the most critical moment. Beneath his protective suit, he had lost quite a bit of weight, but his eyes were brighter than ever before. Since joining, the research environment and resource support here far exceeded the upper limits of what he could have imagined at the PDA.

Not to mention the vast sea of technological data; Yan Wei-geng was deeply obsessed. He dared to say that this place was the future of humanity, the foundation for mankind to head into interstellar space!

It was impossible to make him leave now. Even if the sky fell, Yan Wei-geng would stay here.

"Fuel injection complete," an assistant reported to Yan Wei-geng at that moment. Yan Wei-geng nodded, and after communicating with another person in charge of the same level, he decided to begin the first experiment.

Yan Wei-geng took a deep breath and ordered, "Let's begin."

The assistant beside him immediately entered several complex commands into the console, saying as he typed, "Magnetic confinement system activated, laser igniter preheating, ten, nine, eight..."

The entire ring-shaped device began to emit a humming sound. The external superconducting coils seemed to be awakened, lighting up layer by layer.

Everyone was so nervous they forgot to breathe.

"Three, two, one! Ignition!!"

A massive roar continuously echoed from the reactor device. A faint light began to glow inside the device as countless high-energy particles accelerated their rotation under the magnetic confinement.

"Ignition successful," the assistant beside Yan Wei-geng said nervously, but his hands didn't dare be the slightest bit sloppy. "Temperature curve is normal, temperature has exceeded thirty million degrees Celsius!"

"Plasma morphology is stable, magnetic confinement efficiency has reached 99.6%!"

Inside the control room, everyone's eyes were focused on the rapidly climbing curve on the main screen.

"Sixty million degrees! Breaking through the first critical point!"

"The temperature has successfully broken through one hundred million degrees Celsius! The Q-value has risen to 120, and the ultra-high vacuum chamber remains stable. We have set a historical record!"

"Continue, don't stop," Yan Wei-geng said calmly.

"Three hundred million degrees Celsius!"

"Five hundred million degrees Celsius!"

"..."

"Reactor stable, one billion degrees Celsius!"

"We did it!" The assistant could no longer hold back a cheer upon seeing the final result. This cheer was like lighting a fuse, and the entire control room instantly boiled with excitement.

Lin Fang, on the observation deck, also began to applaud. Although this scene was incomparable to the heavy fusion engines he had seen in the wandering earth world, these people were the foundation of his company. The sea of stars would have to rely on them.

Speaking of which, it had been a long time since he visited the wandering earth world. He wondered how things were over there?

While Lin Fang was thinking, Yan Wei-geng had already led the group to him. Lin Fang naturally didn't hold back on his praise, then gave them a few days off so they could rest for a while at the island's entertainment city.

He added that they were the future of the company, and that even greater challenges awaited them in the future, and so on...

Emm...

Lin Fang felt he was getting more and more used to this kind of corporate rhetoric.

——

Time moved to the next morning. A plane landed at the only airport on Ruang Island, which was also a luxury airport built by Third-Party Technology at a cost of nearly two billion US dollars.

The cabin door opened, and members of the delegation from the United Nations Trade Commission began to walk down the stairs.

There were about fifty people of various skin tones.

Seeing the sight here, many showed looks of surprise. A man in the group said in shock, "The change is too great. Last time I came to this country, this place was just a patch of reefs."

Jackson Reed, the Secretary of Commerce of the American Country, had a flickering gaze as he said, "Everyone, don't forget our purpose. This company has already threatened global economic security; we must conduct a deep investigation into it."

"Secretary Jackson's words are premature," a refined middle-aged man said. "Third-Party Technology is a legally registered enterprise in the Central Continent and has made outstanding contributions to global technological progress. Defining a company that has made such contributions to human healthcare without any concrete evidence does not comply with international trade standards."

"Heh, look at this island and that skyscraper. Can they not prove this company's ambition?" Jackson pointed mockingly at the white spire in the distance ahead.

The refined middle-aged man's expression remained unchanged. "If I had the money, I would build one that high too."

Others listening to the clash between these two wisely remained silent. Although they were all members of the Commission, the gap in status and weight was clearly visible at this moment.

But what they were thinking in their hearts was unknown.

"..."

Coming outside the airport, a motorcade was already waiting. Greeting the UN delegation were Minister Abdul of the Molo Country Investment Department and Xu Anqing, CEO of Third-Party Technology.

Standing by the car, Minister Abdul stepped forward to greet them with a warm smile, opening his arms to the delegation: "Welcome everyone to Ruang Island! I am Abdul, Minister of Investment for Molo Country. At Mr. Lin's request, I have come with CEO Xu to receive you all."

What a grand display.

At this moment, Abdul was actually quite panicked. How was he worthy of meeting these people?

Xu Anqing, wearing a well-tailored deep blue business suit and skirt, spoke in a clear and pleasant voice:

"Delegates, thank you for your hard work on the journey. I am Xu Anqing, CEO of Third-Party Technology. Due to an important R&D project, Chairman Lin is temporarily unable to greet you in person and has specially entrusted me and Minister Abdul to handle your reception."
