81: Chapter 81 Amir's Wish

...

He seemed to hear the rustling of his father quietly preparing fishing gear.

Amir blinked his sore eyes. His twelve-year-old body ached from yesterday's labor, but he knew he couldn't lie in bed, otherwise, even the simplest lunch might be uncertain.

"Father, I'm up," Amir said in a low voice, not wanting to wake his still-feverish mother and two sleeping sisters, who were huddled on a bed on the other side of the room.

His father turned his head, his dark face deeply wrinkled like cracks in a dried riverbed. "The wind is strong today, so the harvest might not be good. Just take good care of the home."

After speaking, the man picked up his fishing net, mended countless times, and walked out of the room.

Amir nodded, quickly put on his old T-shirt that was too short, exposing his wrists, and walked barefoot to the small water tank outside the house, scooping up a handful of water to splash on his face.

The morning wind blew from the Indo-Pacific Ocean, carrying saltiness and dampness. Amir, with his good eyesight, saw his father rowing away in a wooden boat. After returning inside and seeing that his mother and sisters hadn't woken up, Amir decided to go treasure hunting at the market first. He lived in a village twenty kilometers from Mudou, a village with a beautiful name: Coconut Wind Village.

Coconut Wind Village's "market" was in a small alley. Amir sniffed the various smells inside: rotting vegetables, dried fish, spices, and sweat.

The twelve-year-old boy moved nimbly through the crowd, his bright eyes searching for treasures others had discarded or overlooked.

Suddenly,

Amir's heart pounded violently. He saw a 50 franc coin, right under the vendor's basket.

"How much is this?"

Amir squatted down, pointing at the wilted greens in the basket, trying to keep his voice steady, while one hand subtly reached towards the coin.

The moment Amir's finger touched the coin, someone behind him suddenly grabbed his collar, pulling him backward involuntarily.

"Look! Mr. President is stealing!"

Two boys, dressed in equally worn clothes, one choking Amir while shouting, the other trying to pry open Amir's tightly clenched fist.

"Sa... Sali, let go of me,"

Amir said to his former good brother. He was struggling to breathe. He didn't understand why Sali had turned against him over a box of milk, when they had clearly agreed that whoever found it, it was theirs.

"Let go, or I'll strangle you."

The boy Sali said fiercely, then loudly shouted to the surroundings what Amir had told him.

"I, Amir bin Hassan, will one day become the President of Molo... Listen! This thief said he wants to be president!"

Joyful laughter echoed through the alley, easing people's early morning fatigue.

What about the rest of the story?

Amir shed tears in a semi-conscious state. His 50 franc coin was stolen, his father never returned from the sea that day, and his mother and two sisters died in a plague... Coconut Wind Village disappeared after that.

In this terrible land.

...

Hiss––

Amir woke up to find himself slumped over a table in the cafeteria. He touched the back of his neck; there seemed to be a wound there.

He recalled that last night, after he agreed to take on the company's task, the weapons expert opposite him smiled, his eyes like black holes, and then everything went black, and he lost all his senses.

That weapons expert was terrifying. Amir couldn't help but shiver.

The East truly is a mysterious country.

Moreover, the company plans to support him to become the new President of Molo Country? Amir thought this was impossible. The company currently had trouble even overthrowing the Ruang Island government, and with their poor weapons, rashly launching a coup would put the company in a desperate situation.

At that point, they would only be able to retreat into the mountains like those second-rate rebels. Logically, the cold and rational Executive Stern wouldn't be so reckless. Everything was too strange.

After a moment, Amir's numb legs finally regained sensation.

Passing by the window,

The massive shadow outside the window made Amir turn his head. What was that?

After pushing open the window, blinding sunlight and the smell of diesel instantly rushed into Amir's nostrils. When he saw the situation outside, the middle-aged man's breathing stopped, and his eyes widened almost to the point of popping out.

What did he see? A line of 5 heavy tanks parked on the open ground in front of the cafeteria.

These were models Amir had never seen before; larger, more ferocious.

Was he still dreaming? Amir rubbed his eyes, and when he realized the cannon barrels facing him were not an illusion, he opened his mouth, unsure what to say, his mind blank.

These were heavy weapons never seen here before. One tank alone could fight from the south to the north of Ruang Island.

Not only that, Amir looked into the distance. The normally vast outdoor training ground was piled with various weapons and equipment, and Amir saw more than one missile launcher.

This was equipment that could arm an entire legion. The intense visual impact made Amir dizzy.

This was a miracle that even Allah could not achieve.

After a long while,

Amir, trembling, went downstairs. He wanted to go outside and touch these pieces of equipment with his own hands. And with such a huge development, where was his company's executive?

––

Little did he know,

The busy "weapons expert" Lin Fang also didn't want to take out so much, but he had no choice. The warehouse had so much

After a night of hard work completing the Hades Chip implants, he, Duke, and two others were now making breakfast for the 200 Clones employees in front of them, as it was their first meal, and Clones also needed to eat.

Amidst the aroma of breakfast,

What Amir saw when he came downstairs was this terrifying scene: his company's CEO and two other high-ranking officials were busy in the kitchen, wearing aprons.

And five queues of soldiers, uniformly dressed, stood neatly outside the window, not making a sound. Hearing Amir's movement downstairs, they all simultaneously looked towards the stairwell.

Even their expressions were identical.

"What... what is happening now!"

Amir fainted, and the most terrifying thought arose in his mind: aliens were disguised as humans invading Earth.

He had become a traitor to Earth!

...

The difference was, Amir woke up quickly this time. Looking at the steamed buns in front of him, and then at the 200 new company employees eating in an orderly fashion, a complex emotion suddenly arose in Amir's heart.

Since this young man arrived, he felt like an ant swept up by a torrent. Everything before his eyes far exceeded his understanding and control, and he could only follow it forward.

"They are all members of Delta, just like you. You don't need to overthink it."

Lin Fang took a bite of the steamed bun he had made, and looked at the future president, saying calmly, "What you need to think about is how to govern a country. Wasn't it your childhood dream to become president and make the people happier?"

"Mr. bin Hassan, you are very lucky. The company is going to help you realize that wish."
