360: Chapter 360 Ava

"I'll just do my best. If we can't win, there's nothing I can do about it."

Facing Ains' request, Lin Fang shook his head and said that according to him, the Polyphemus civilization level had clearly moved beyond the Level 1 civilization stage, reaching at least Level 2 or even Level 3.

Such a civilization can shuttle between planetary systems at will. Relying on the foundation of Third-Party Technology, one cannot hope to challenge these civilizations.

The Space-Based Weapons that intimidate various nations in reality might just be large fireworks in their eyes.

Facing them, Lin Fang didn't have much to offer: Xiao Hei was one, various viruses were another, that eerie face meme was one, plus hundreds of millions of combat units...

But if the gap is too large, the relationship between quantity and war between civilizations of different levels becomes irrelevant. For instance, a modern army driving an ICBM vehicle against a million-strong army from the Qing Dynasty; the terrifying million-strong ancient army wouldn't even have a chance to see the enemy.

Just like in the Three-Body Problem written by Da Liu, when the Singer Civilization throws a Dual-vector Foil, what's left to struggle for?

According to Ains, even the attack methods and racial characteristics of the Polyphemus civilization are currently unknown.

As for why Lin Fang would agree to this request, it was simply a highly profitable deal. If successful, Lin Fang could obtain the Jushen Group or even devour the Polyphemus civilization.

If it failed, Lin Fang would do his best to protect himself.

But that was a last resort; Lin Fang felt he still had some integrity.

Just as these thoughts flashed through Lin Fang's mind, Ains, hearing his words, fell silent for a moment and extended his hand to Lin Fang. "There is always a way out. No matter what, Jushen Company will do its best. We have no other choice; humanity must fight with its back to the wall!"

Lin Fang shook hands with him; the cooperation was established.

Ains immediately appointed Lin Fang as the new Chief Executive of Jushen Company, the second-in-command after Ains himself.

Next, Ains revealed to Lin Fang that Jushen Company currently had a total of 3 billion employees, 2.5 billion of whom were for combat, mostly on Pandora Planet, along with some current deployments.

Ains answered all the questions Lin Fang raised without reservation.

Lin Fang couldn't help but feel surprised by this trust.

"There's no time left,"

Ains shook his head and smiled, looking at Lin Fang with a sincere gaze. "Some people can be judged as trustworthy at a glance. I can see that Your Excellency Lin Fang is such a person."

These words were very pleasing to Lin Fang.

That's right, I am exactly that kind of person.

After a brief discussion, the two decided to take the Argus Expeditionary Fleet back to Pandora Planet in an hour to prepare for the three-month war.

A group of high-level officials from Argus Base were waiting outside the door. General McLaren and several division commanders like Hawk were also there. They were worried about accidents, especially after seeing the unidentified liquid creature on Lin Fang.

So when the office door opened and they saw Lin Fang and Ains walking out chatting and laughing, they were all surprised. Especially when they heard that Lin Fang was now the Chief Executive of Jushen Company, their eyes widened in disbelief.

What happened?

Suddenly thinking of something, Lin Fang patted Hawk's shoulder next to him and said expectantly, "Lieutenant General Hawk, don't be so surprised. You still have a lot to learn."

Hawk: ...

An hour later, the 2.3-kilometer diameter flagship of the Argus Expeditionary Fleet slowly detached from its ground berth and headed toward space. By this time, Lin Fang and Ains had already boarded this massive starship.

As the two walked through the corridor, accompanied by the lonely deep space of the universe, Ains introduced the Warp Engine to Lin Fang. Technology alone wasn't enough for this engine; it also required energy and materials. The Warp Engine's energy source was Antimatter, and the core material was a superconducting ore called Unobtanium, which came from Pandora Planet.

"Our discovery of Pandora Planet was no accident. It was also a coordinate provided by the Polyphemus civilization. They seem eager for us to develop."

Ains revealed another inside story to Lin Fang. "Forty years ago, we experimented with substitute materials and barely reached Pandora. Only after collecting this superconducting ore did Jushen Company truly begin to develop."

"Unobtanium is the true cornerstone of interstellar travel. Without it, curvature cannot be stabilized. Even the shortest jump could tear the entire ship into particles in spatial turbulence. It can be said that all of Jushen Company's interstellar fleets today are built upon this ore from Pandora."

Lin Fang nodded. From the sound of it, this was indeed a rare resource.

He had just looked over the information Ains had given him.

Warp Engine technology, simply put, can be imagined as the universe being an elastic bedsheet. Traditional propulsion engines are like crawling hard on the bedsheet; no matter how fast you go, you're limited by physical rules and can hardly exceed the speed of light.

A Warp Engine, however, uses powerful energy to compress and fold the space in front of the ship while stretching the space behind it, allowing the space itself to carry the ship across distances measured in light-years. This is interstellar jumping in the truest sense.

Lin Fang asked casually, "Can I dig up a bit?"

Ains clearly hadn't expected Lin Fang to suddenly make this request and laughed in spite of himself.

"Of course,"

Ains nodded without hesitation. "Forget about digging up a bit; you have full mining rights to the entire Unobtanium vein on Pandora from now on. Use as much as you want. After all, if we don't win this war, these things will be useless anyway."

Then, Ains sighed.

"Back then, to obtain the ore veins on Pandora Planet, we slaughtered an indigenous race called the Na'vi to the last person."

The young man paused in his tracks.

Seeing this, Ains was somewhat surprised. "Could it be that you've heard of this race?"

"No,"

Lin Fang twitched the corner of his mouth, mourning for the Avatars he hadn't even met yet. He hadn't even caught a few to keep as pets yet.

Ains glanced at him and continued, "The Na'vi were indigenous to Pandora—blue-skinned, three meters tall. In their beliefs, the Unobtanium vein was the skeleton of their goddess, Eywa, the lifeblood of the entire planet, and could not be touched."

"We sent envoys and showed plenty of sincerity, but they still refused. Conflict between Jushen Company and them was inevitable. We paid a price to annihilate them, and finally, we discovered a shocking fact..."

"The Eywa they worshiped was actually Polyphemus."

By this time, Ains and Lin Fang had reached the front of the main control room. Several Jushen Company soldiers immediately saluted them upon seeing them.
