13: Chapter 13 What do you want to do? Battle

...

"Go find them! Go find them now!"

A terrifying roar erupted from the office on the third basement floor. A moment later, several well-equipped armed personnel trotted out of the Research Institute.

"Three more came out. It seems the identity of that female victim is really not simple." In a crevice between distant rocks, Lin Fang stared intently at these buildings through binoculars.

These buildings had a U-shaped design and were elegantly decorated, completely out of place with the surrounding war-torn style. This was the Research Institute; he had been watching it for nearly half a day.

Theoretically, their security force was at its weakest now, but even so, he couldn't fight his way in by himself.

His own flesh wouldn't even be enough for them to share.

Lin Fang pulled back the binoculars and pondered. With so many people out searching, those three corpses wouldn't stay hidden for long.

Time to risk it. The fastest way to enter the tiger's den was to show up at the door himself.

Lin Fang jumped onto the main road with his hands high in the air and walked toward the gate of the Research Institute step by step.

...

"Mr. Mite, there's news of Miss Emily!"

Just as Mitte Wester was frowning in his office, his female assistant hurriedly knocked on the door.

"You found Miss Emily?" Mite was overjoyed.

"No, only a cell phone."

"Oh NO, my God!"

—

In an empty room,

Lin Fang had been stripped down to just his underwear. A minute ago, he hadn't even had those; he had been searched inside and out.

The exposed wounds made the armed men on site instinctively tighten their legs, showing looks of pity. But this admirable Asian man now looked as calm as ever, sitting quietly in the chair and waiting.

Before long,

A semi-bald white man in a suit and leather shoes walked into the room. "Cassius, I remember you."

Mite spoke with a gentle expression, "When you were arrested by the security department back then, I even pleaded for mercy on your behalf. Otherwise, you wouldn't have lived until now."

Lin Fang glanced at him and then lowered his head, not answering, remaining silent.

After a while,

"Cassius, what do you need? Where is Miss Emily?!" Mite could no longer keep his composure; the longer it took, the more dangerous it became for Emily. The prey wasn't dead, but the hunters had disappeared instead. This terrible situation made Mite lose his calm, and he even began to fear the worst.

But what he couldn't understand was why he would take the initiative to show up.

"Don't worry, Miss Emily is still alive. She's just asleep."

"I also know where she is."

Just as Mite was getting impatient and preparing to take measures, Lin Fang spoke. Due to prolonged dehydration, his voice was dry and unpleasant.

But to Mite's ears, these words were like heavenly music. He stood up so quickly he knocked over his chair.

"Cassius, as long as you tell me where Miss Emily is, I will grant you whatever you want—money and freedom are both possible!"

Hearing this, Lin Fang appeared to be deep in thought.

After a few more minutes, under Mite's almost pleading gaze, the Asian youth finally stated his demand: "I need a set of pharmaceutical data worth over 50 million US dollars."

You, a yellow-skinned monkey, think you can handle that?

This was Mite's first reaction upon hearing the request, but he immediately replied impatiently, "No problem, I can give it to you right now."

A flicker of mockery flashed in Mite's eyes; even if it was given to him, he wouldn't be able to take it away. Things belonging to Drake would ultimately only belong to Drake.

"Wait."

Just as Mite turned around, Lin Fang spoke up, "Mr. Mite, I don't want paper documents. To ensure I'm not being cheated, I want to watch you retrieve it from the terminal with my own eyes."

Lin Fang stated his goal. He was gambling—gambling on when the bodies would be discovered, and gambling on whether this person in charge would agree.

To prevent leaks, a large Research Institute like this definitely used its own local area network. Who cared about that single piece of data? He wanted to take the entire server of this Research Institute away!

Like a reflex,

Mitte Wester's eyes instantly turned sharp upon hearing this, staring at the Asian youth like a fierce cougar. "What do you want to do? That's impossible!"

This fierce expression once made Lin Fang think that the shooting would start in the next second.

Just then, the female assistant walked over.

"..."

"Yes, yes, Mr. Augu, we have already found a clue."

A moment later, Mite put down his phone in fear and trepidation. The caller was the leader of the Drake Family, whose single word could make a person tremble incessantly.

Today truly was the worst day ever; nothing could be worse than this.

Taking a deep breath, Mite calmed down. His shrewd and sharp eyes could see through everything in the world, including this Asian youth who was wearing nothing but a pair of underpants.

After a cold snort,

Amidst the sound of Lin Fang's heartbeat, the former said this with a grim face.

"Follow me!"

Before entering the first basement floor, the number of people watching Lin Fang changed from six to four.

Entering the second basement floor, it changed from four to two.

Entering the third basement floor, they were disarmed.

Entering the fourth basement floor, after passing through a four-layer access control system consisting of fingerprints, iris, facial recognition, and password combinations, the group of four finally arrived at the door of the innermost server room.

Lin Fang looked at the seamless alloy door, curious about how this last door would be opened.

Under his gaze, Mite pressed the doorbell next to it.

Ding-dong~

Click, click, click—a faint mechanical sound came from inside, and the door opened. This last door was actually opened manually!

Lin Fang was shocked. Who could have imagined this? But this primitive method was relatively the most secure; even the most formidable expert would be left staring helplessly upon arriving here.

Lin Fang's mind became active. The problem was the person inside—was it a maintenance worker or someone else?

The airlock released, and a plain-looking white man appeared. He didn't speak, but after giving them a cold glance, he stepped aside, appearing incredibly mysterious.

Lin Fang felt immense pressure from him.

Unexpectedly, the space inside this room of about a hundred square meters was quite spacious and bright. An all-in-one server, six meters long and 40U high, sat on an iron rack in the center.

The cooling fans hummed, and countless cable interfaces flickered with various colored lights.

It wasn't too big; he wondered if he could carry it away.

"What do you want to do?"

The white man from before suddenly blocked Lin Fang and spoke coldly.

The group paused, and the atmosphere froze.

This person is too sharp! Lin Fang's heart skipped a beat. His lips had only moved slightly, yet this man had noticed.

A super agent? A master of micro-expression analysis? This wasn't someone he could fool.

The more one says, the more one loses.

Therefore, silence was Lin Fang's response.

"Alright, hurry up, Fallon," Mite spoke. At this moment, the blue-glowing terminal computer was right in front of them.

"Fine, Sir."

After a fierce stare,

The eagle-like eyes of the white man named Fallon moved away from the Asian youth who was only wearing underpants.

The moment he turned around, a flash of brown appeared in Lin Fang's hand—it was an FNX45 pistol with the safety already off.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Without a single word or any warning, three bullets flew toward Fallon's back.

Lin Fang used his fastest hand speed: one shot to the back of the head, and two shots to the back of the chest.

Within this distance of less than a meter, Fallon had just begun to dodge when the bullets pierced his body, and he collapsed, coughing up blood.

Kill the most difficult one first.

With a clear objective, Lin Fang performed a tactical roll and emptied the magazine toward the two people behind him. The gunshots echoed through the space.

Mite, who was still standing, was stunned by this scene. How did this gun appear?

In an instant, three people were dead.

"Sir, are you there? We found Miss Emily's body in a ditch. She's dead!" Suddenly, the female assistant's scream came through the earpiece.

What?! Mite slumped to the ground uncontrollably.

"Mr. Mite, what's happening down there? I think I heard gunshots..."

Just as Mite was about to speak, a hand removed his earpiece. A calm voice sounded like thunder to the assistant because it was in the purest Central Continent language.

"Don't worry, everything is safe here."
