113: Chapter 113 The Cost of Breach of Contract

The morning sun shone through the blinds of the Presidential Palace in Roni. Amir bin Hassan, wearing a white cotton robe, finished his morning prayer facing Mecca. He was accustomed to starting his work for the day only after praying.

This morning was the weekly routine meeting, a rule Amir had established after taking office. The previous President hadn't been this diligent.

After finishing a simple breakfast, when Amir stepped into the conference room, about twenty people were already waiting inside. They were several ministers from the Molo Government and other important officials.

Amir's gaze swept over every face present: "As-Salamu Alaykum (May peace be upon you)."

"Wa Alaykum As-Salam (And may peace be upon you too), President." Everyone responded in unison.

"Where is Minister Abdul?" Amir asked.

Someone immediately replied: "Minister Abdul went out to receive that company from the Central Continent; it is said that there are results."

"Very good!"

Amir's face lit up with joy. He had been looking forward to this company, which was wealthier than his own country, for a long time. This could be the key opportunity to change Molo Country.

"As long as it is not excessive, we will cooperate with whatever they want. Contact Minister Abdul; I want to meet with them as well."

"Very well, President."

Next came some reporting content, mainly regarding the construction of several wharves and how to raise money to open another school.

Being poor has its own way of living. Amir was working hard to make life better for the people of this country. Without coup wars, energy must be focused on economic construction.

"President, I have one more thing," just as the meeting was about to end, a young man from Molo Country sitting in the corner stood up, his dark brown face wearing a determined expression.

"Qasim, go ahead," Amir said, feeling a bit of a headache as he looked at this young official.

Qasim said with a firm gaze: "President, I insist that our country's national defense security cannot be entirely handed over to a military company!"

This sensitive issue was raised again, and everyone in the conference room looked at each other.

Since the unification of Molo Country, apart from basic public security, the entire armed forces of Molo had been disbanded and disarmed. National defense security had been outsourced to a military company named Delta, and the headquarters of this company was on Yote Island.

Amir's face instantly became serious. He put down the documents in his hand and crossed his fingers on the table: "Qasim, this issue has been discussed many times. They can protect Molo well; even France can do nothing about them."

"But President, handing over national defense to a private military company is even more dangerous in my opinion!" Qasim said excitedly. "These companies are only loyal to money and could bite us back at any time. This happened in Madagascar last year."

Amir asked: "Then what is your idea?"

"We can completely retrofit existing fishing boats into patrol boats and train local militia. Although the equipment is simple, at least they are our own people!"

Sigh—Amir sighed inwardly. He looked at the others in the conference room who were silent, and then at this young official with an excited expression. Amir actually quite appreciated him.

But himself...

"Qasim, how do you think the people of Molo are living now?"

The young man answered truthfully: "Much better than before."

Amir nodded: "Yes, now the people can eat their fill, schools are running steadily, children don't have to be woken up by gunfire and shells in the middle of the night, and companies are coming to our country to invest. Life will get better and better. Isn't this what we expected?"

"Why change it?"

Qasim's lips pressed into a straight line, and his dark brown cheeks flushed red: "But relying on outsiders is not a long-term solution after all. It's like handing over the keys to our home to Bandits for safekeeping!"

Seeing that he would not give up, Amir simply spoke directly: "Then do you know the price of our breach of contract?"

Qasim was stunned: "The price of breach of contract?"

Amir's face gradually turned cold: "Everything mentioned above will disappear. Their muzzles will be aimed at this land, and they will speak in this room in their own way!"

"Do you know that!!"

Qasim's face turned pale. The belief in his heart was collapsing, and he said woodenly: "Aren't we the employers?"

So this was the truth. This military company had always been holding the entire Molo Country hostage, just like managing a farm, raising his own country like chicks.

Collapsing back into his chair, dejected, the light in Qasim's eyes gradually extinguished. What could he use to resist this evil company?

"President, Minister Abdul and the delegation from Third-Party Technology are already waiting in the reception room," the attendant whispered a reminder.

"Please ask our guests to wait a moment; I will be there immediately."

Amir smiled, patted Qasim on the shoulder, and left the room. The others left as well.

The room was soon left with only Qasim.

Wait! The light in the eyes of the sorrowful Molo youth rekindled. A bold idea flashed through his mind. Since they couldn't directly confront Delta Company, why not use one force to counter another?

This idea was like a cluster of Fire, crackling and igniting in the depths of Qasim's almost extinguished eyes.

That's right, that's it.

This hundred-billion-level enterprise coming to Molo to invest must have strength that cannot be underestimated. More importantly, they were outsiders and had nothing to do with Delta Company.

Wealth can do many things; it might not be impossible to resist Delta Company.

Thinking of this, Qasim rushed out urgently. He had to save his country!

——

Inside the reception room, Minister Abdul was warmly greeting the group from Third-Party Technology. Seeing Amir come in, he immediately stood up: "President, the two people beside me are Ms. Xu Anqing, the CEO of Third-Party Technology Company, and Mr. Li Chengjian, a senior leader!"

"And... this Mr. Zhou." Minister Abdul hesitated for a moment.

"Hello,"

Amir's face was full of smiles, and he shook hands with everyone.

After everyone was seated, Amir looked expectant: "Ms. Xu, Mr. Li, I heard that your company has decided to set up a branch in our Molo Country. This is really exciting news. Where would you like to open it? The Molo Government will definitely cooperate with you fully."

Xu Anqing nodded slightly and responded calmly: "Yes, President. After a week of investigation, we believe that Ruang Island is very suitable for our needs."

"Oh? Where on Ruang?"

"The entire island."

After Xu Anqing finished speaking, Amir's smile instantly froze on his face. After confirming again, Amir finally understood the young woman's intention.

She actually wanted nearly one-third of his country's land.
