129: Chapter 129 Breach of Contract (Part Two)
"Your Excellency, what do you mean by this?"
Winston frowned. He was clearly a cute child, but his smile looked unscrupulous no matter how one looked at it.
This look of contempt was unsettling.
Winston had long been accustomed to the awe of others; never had he been scrutinized with such a contemptuous gaze by a being who appeared to be a young child.
The disdain in that smile was like a physical needle, piercing through the mask he struggled to maintain.
"You have made a wrong decision."
"The previous World was too friendly and even appointed me as a Minister, making me almost forget my own identity."
Lin Fang said coldly: "I am giving you two choices now: hand over all the data of this Base to me intact, along with the energy supplies and maintenance equipment for the Eureka Striker."
"If I have to do it myself, I will send you and the people of this Base to meet God together."
These milky, childish words carried immense lethality.
Winston's expression changed slightly upon hearing this. He could naturally tell that Lin Fang was not joking; if the data were not handed over obediently, he and everyone in the entire Base would likely be wiped out together.
If anyone else had said this, Winston would have dismissed it as childish babble. But at this moment, facing Lin Fang's temperatureless eyes and recalling the bizarre abilities the other party had previously displayed, this being who appeared to be a young child might actually have the capability to do as he said.
Winston took a deep breath, trying to suppress the trepidation in his heart: "Your Excellency, you are declaring war on the entire Pacific Rim joint military defense force."
"And so what?"
Lin Fang sneered, "I have weapons that can destroy a Planet, viruses that can exterminate surface life, and troops that can traverse time and space. What do you have? A few hunks of iron?"
"Officer, you don't naively think I came empty-handed, do you?"
Winston's confidence was completely drained in that instant. He opened his mouth, trying to say something to defend his dignity.
Winston suddenly felt that what he said made a lot of sense...
The United Government's calculations, technical secrecy, and political maneuvering seemed incredibly ridiculous and insignificant at this moment. They were still smug about a tampered set of technical data, unaware that the other party had long mastered the power to easily destroy them.
The so-called declaration of war, in the other party's eyes, was perhaps as ridiculous as an ant waving its antennae at a giant elephant.
"Your Excellency, please... please give me some time."
After saying this, Winston walked away with hurried steps, while the boy, who had made a Base Commander flee in disarray with just a few sentences, continued to eat his breakfast unhurriedly.
Winston returned to the communication hall.
A few minutes later, several split screens appeared one after another. The main representatives of the United Government, including Chairman Madison Nipe and the elderly man with the slicked-back hair from before, became clear one by one. Their faces still carried a hint of displeasure and confusion at being disturbed.
One of them spoke up: "General Winston, is it that merchant?"
The new Commander nodded, then played the footage from the conference room just now.
When they saw Lin Fang see through their tricks in an instant, the representatives on the screen all turned pale with anger. Someone reprimanded Winston for not even being able to act, saying that appointing him as Commander was a huge mistake.
But when they saw the rest, all the accusations and dissatisfaction on the screen stopped abruptly, and the words of the representative who was still reprimanding Winston got stuck in his throat.
After a long while, the elderly man with the slicked-back hair said hesitantly.
"He might be bluffing. Who could possess such powerful technology?"
