261: Chapter 261 T103 Tyrant
The next day, a video filled with brutality spread rapidly until it shocked the entire Pokémon World.
The entire video lasted a full half-hour.
At the start of the footage, the protagonist was clearly inside a helicopter. To the viewers' surprise, the protagonist's figure was exceptionally tall. The camera angle was fixed on the upper wall of the cabin, and only a steady, rhythmic sound of heavy breathing could be heard.
It sounded like the breathing of a beast, making people feel uneasy.
After about ten seconds in this oppressive environment, the cabin door opened. The protagonist lowered its body and leaned out. At this moment, the audience caught a glimpse of part of its body; it wore a black leather coat, and its thighs were exceptionally muscular.
Just as the audience was stunned by this inhuman physique, the protagonist jumped from the helicopter without hesitation.
It was so fast that the audience didn't have time to react. The screen was instantly filled with the sensation of weightlessness from a rapid descent and the sound of whistling wind, as the ground zoomed in rapidly.
Boom—
The protagonist's massive feet slammed into the ground, creating a deep crater. Cracks spread out like a spiderweb.
Yet his massive body remained steady as a rock, without even a noticeable bend of the knees for cushioning. It was as if the impact, which would have shattered a normal person's bones, was just an ordinary landing to him.
The camera barely even shook.
The viewers also saw the surrounding environment: a smoke-filled plaza. Based on the flags, it appeared to be the administrative center of some country.
The corpses scattered across the field indicated that a war was taking place here.
However, when the protagonist—a tower-like, inhuman presence clad in a black leather coat—fully emerged from the dust and smoke, the atmosphere of the entire battlefield shifted instantly.
A few humans standing nearby were the first to see this monster that had descended from the sky. Their expressions quickly shifted from initial alertness to sheer horror.
Thud! Thud!
Two more heavy thuds, almost identical to the protagonist's landing, erupted one after another nearby.
The viewers watching the video finally saw what had landed. They didn't look like the same species as humans at all; at the very least, humans aren't nearly four meters tall. These looked like giants.
"What is this? Some kind of humanoid Pokémon?"
The Resistance in the plaza turned pale with horror. The pressure radiating from these three creatures made them instantly restless.
Just then, an emotionless broadcast rang out from the helicopter high above:
"This is the Third-Party Technology Company Armed Intervention Force. In accordance with the 'Emergency Employment Status Security Agreement' signed with the legitimate government of the North Tas Federal Republic, we are now formally taking over the security affairs of this area."
The synthesized electronic voice echoed clearly over the smoke-filled plaza through the powerful loudspeakers on the helicopter, drowning out all the noise and chaos.
"Repeat: Third-Party Technology Company has now taken over the security affairs of this area."
"The following is a one-time warning: All unauthorized armed personnel, please lay down your weapons immediately and order your Pokémon to stand down. Any continued possession of weapons or actions showing hostile intent will be regarded as a hostile act, and our side will take necessary measures to eliminate you."
"Warning effective for thirty seconds. The countdown begins now."
"29,"
"28,"
"..."
As the voice faded, an eerie silence fell over the plaza. The rebels looked at each other, then toward their leader.
The leader's face turned ashen. He clenched his fists. "Third-Party Technology? Where did they come from? That pig Herman actually..."
He had come this far; how could he possibly give up now!
With that thought, the leader stepped forward and shouted, "Don't be afraid, everyone! No matter what they are, there are only three of them. We have thousands of people and our Pokémon partners!"
"Don't forget why we are standing here! It's to overthrow that tyrant Herman, so our families and children can have a better life! Now, the final obstacle is right before us. We cannot retreat!"
These inflammatory words had some effect. Many rebels regained their resolve and gripped their weapons tightly.
"Right! The leader is right!"
"Let's fight them!"
"For freedom..."
No one knew who fired the first shot, but like a spark falling into boiling oil, it instantly ignited the air of the battlefield.
"Rat-tat-tat-tat—!!"
"Roar—!!!"
Gunfire and explosions followed as the rebels frantically poured all their firepower toward the three stationary, black giant figures.
Viewers from all over the world watching the video felt the oppressive sensation of a first-person perspective for the first time. Many screamed in fear.
Facing this sudden attack, the three Tyrants reacted almost simultaneously. Their massive bodies proved incredibly agile as they dodged most of the attacks while lunging toward the Resistance.
Perhaps "lunging" wasn't the right word; they were more like three heavy tanks with their brakes suddenly released, charging into the crowd with terrifying explosive power.
Several people in front who couldn't dodge in time were instantly sent flying. Even those holding composite riot shields were helpless.
A single punch from a Tyrant caused a shield to cave in instantly, sending both the person and the shield flying into a pile of stones over ten meters away. With a crushed chest, the person clearly wouldn't survive.
Under the charge of these three humanoid monsters, the Resistance of thousands actually began to show signs of collapse.
The rebel leader's eyes nearly burst with rage. Where on earth did that pig Herman hire such reinforcements? Countless bullets hit them but seemed like nothing; they were truly terrifying.
"This can't go on!" the rebel leader roared as he climbed onto a high platform.
"Brave warriors, we cannot retreat! Not even a single step! We have no way out. If we don't win today, that greedy and brutal President Herman will execute us all, including our families."
"Think of your families!"
"It's either him or us!!"
As the leader spoke passionately, he was horrified to find that the three humanoid monsters had all turned their attention toward him and were running his way. It felt as if the very earth were trembling.
The middle-aged man was scared out of his wits.
"Stop them! Quickly, stop them!" the rebel leader screamed, his voice cracking as he scrambled and jumped down from the platform.
The three Tyrants were like wolves among sheep, and for a moment, the battlefield became incredibly tragic.
At that moment, several rocket launcher operators seized a brief moment when one Tyrant slowed down. After the rocket hit, flames and thick smoke instantly swallowed most of the Tyrant's body.
"Great, it's a hit!"
The rebel leader, who was hiding and dodging, looked delighted. Finally, they could kill one; things would be much better after that.
But his joy lasted only a few seconds before the blasted-over Tyrant let out an abnormal roar for the first time.
The black leather coat that originally covered its entire body had shattered.
