301: Chapter 301 Joining the Underworld

Lansem had once considered doing as that organization said, cooperating with them and inviting Lin Fang to the U.S., but he eventually abandoned that idea.

After careful deliberation, Lansem chose to report the situation—no, he chose to trust the company—so, upon seeing Lin Fang, he laid out his entire ordeal.

"BOSS, today, a secret organization called "New Life" targeted you and set a trap to coerce me..."

Lansem tried his best to remain calm as he poured out everything that had happened during the day, from being abducted after leaving the company, to his conversation with Qiao Tianyou, and finally being stripped of his clothes and having his daughter's safety threatened.

Finally, Lansem added with trepidation: "I pretended to agree to them, but I never had any intention of betraying the company. BOSS, please save my daughter..."

After he finished speaking, the young man opposite him didn't move; he only stared at Lansem with a sharp gaze that seemed to pierce through the human heart, making the latter's skin crawl.

In the room, Lin Fang rested his chin on one hand and chuckled, "Lansem, you made the right choice. I will handle this matter, and your daughter will return to your side very soon."

Upon hearing Lin Fang's promise, the heavy stone in Lansem's heart seemed to be lifted instantly, though he still gasped for breath a few times.

These words gave Lansem a sense of security.

"Th-thank you, BOSS," Lansem said, his voice filled with emotion. "I don't know what to say. That "New Life" organization, along with Qiao Tianyou—they seem very well-prepared, and I also noted that he mentioned many people are supporting him..."

"No matter. They are all just a bunch of ignorant Jokers. Nothing else? I'm hanging up," Lin Fang said, and the projection went dark.

Lansem sat in his chair, feeling a bit lost, praying that everything would go smoothly.

Just then, the projection suddenly lit up again, the blue light illuminating Lansem's astonished face.

[Lansem Duval, you have obtained the qualifications to join the Inner World. Please read the agreement. You may choose "Yes" or "YES".]

Star Hub's emotionless, electronic voice echoed clearly in the silent study, every word distinct.

What, the Inner World?

Lansem's expression was one of shock. Could the company really have another unknown organization? From his position, he had already noticed some anomalies,

such as expert teams that appeared and disappeared suddenly, or supplies that could not be explained... many clues indicated that his company was not as simple as it seemed.

Lansem began to read the agreement, and gradually, he became astonished. This was an agreement that any country would identify as belonging to a terrorist organization.

The content of the agreement stated that upon signing, one would automatically become an employee of Third-Party Technology's "Inner World" and would owe lifelong loyalty to the company, with no option to withdraw—not even after death.

He had no other choice, so Lansem decisively agreed.

[Joining successful. Your initial clearance is B3.]

After saying this, the Star Hub system fell silent.

That was it? What kind of clearance was B3? And how did it differ from his current A5 clearance?

Lansem looked around blankly.

Suddenly thinking of something, Lansem used his projection device to open his work desktop. In the company's backend, he was shocked to find an entrance marked for exclusive Inner World employees—something that had never existed before.

Lansem clicked on it. The first thing that appeared was the Inner World Employee Code. Having discovered a new World, Lansem was very patient and read it carefully.

As he read, Lansem's expression gradually turned to horror. The content within subtly revealed a fact: the Inner World was an organization ten thousand times larger than the company's surface World, and it even involved other Worlds.

After finishing the code, Lansem began to browse the information on the Inner World.

With B3 clearance, Lansem could already see quite a lot of content.

The content made Lansem's breathing increasingly rapid, and cold sweat had already soaked the shirt on his back.

My God, he hadn't just joined a simple secret organization within the company; he had stepped into a behemoth capable of rewriting human destiny, one that even stood above multiple Worlds.

If he had chosen to betray the company just now, what would his fate have been? Thinking of this, Lansem's heart pounded with fear.

[Inner World Announcement]: The G7 Plane War is won!

[Inner World Announcement]: Notification regarding rewards for the Mars Plan team.

[Inner World Announcement]: New breakthrough in the Titan development plan; the company's occupied territory has reached 50 million square kilometers.

[Inner World Announcement]: Recruitment notice for the N11-1 project lead.

[Inner World Announcement]: Huge news! The Black Watch Base's Eighth Canteen has new items...

...

While Lansem was feeling fortunate about his choice, over at the Civilization Science City, Little Black was giving a brief report to Lin Fang.

[Boss, I have locked onto all members of the "New Life" organization. We can proceed with the arrests.]

Lin Fang shook his head slightly. "These are all insignificant people. We don't need to rush to close the net. I'd rather take this opportunity to drag out all the supporters behind this organization."

Looking at the profiles of these "New Life" members on the projection, Lin Fang pondered.

Actually, some time ago, Little Black had calculated that there would be an operation targeting Lin Fang. Although these people had avoided the internet, they could not escape big data screening.

Simply put, Little Black would calculate potential threats to Lin Fang based on various variables occurring in the World.

Doing this was not difficult. As long as one collected the information, personality, behavioral patterns, and past resumes of every person in the World, and then incorporated the movements of these people and their interactions with surrounding events into the calculation, one could predict what might happen in the future.

Predicting the future might be an exaggeration—Little Black couldn't do that yet—but calculating whether there were actions targeting Lin Fang was not difficult to achieve.

This level of early warning treatment was something only Lin Fang and his old father were entitled to.

The "New Life" organization had shut down surveillance in several blocks of Houston City under the guise of maintenance to facilitate the coercion of Lansem, but what they didn't know was that this action itself became a variable.

When Lansem didn't appear on time, the Quantum Information Satellite above the U.S. region had already descended to a low orbit, pointing directly at these people's faces.

How could the real Earth be without such good things as Quantum Information Satellites? Two groups, totaling twenty-six, had long since been launched and deployed above the Earth.

This ensured that the entire Earth was under Little Black's real-time surveillance.
