50: Chapter 50 The Greatest Terrorist in History
One month later, Location: Florida.
The morning sunlight gently bathed the wooden tables and chairs. Sienna Ross was eating breakfast at an outdoor table outside a cafe. Her shoulder-length dark brown curly hair glimmered with a faint copper sheen in the sunlight. This cafe, called Blacksmith, was a hidden gem Sienna had recently discovered, and it was close to her workplace.
Sienna loved the breakfast this shop offered: a pancake made from banana batter with caramel, crushed walnuts, and powdered sugar. It was sweet and delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Plus a cup of fresh juice... Apart from those hateful factories making the air even murkier, this was a truly delightful morning.
Such a beautiful day shouldn't be spent working, Sienna thought happily after taking a bite of her pancake.
Bang! A loud noise suddenly came from the distance, giving Sienna a huge fright. She immediately looked puzzled; she didn't remember the Brandy Aerospace Center having any launch missions today.
This was exactly where Sienna worked; she was a recorder at the Aerospace Center.
Bang! When the loud noise occurred again, Sienna realized this wasn't a Rocket launch—it was the sound of an explosion!
Thick smoke rose in the distance, and the surrounding crowd began to exclaim in alarm.
Sienna was the same; she hurriedly finished her last sip of juice and stood on her chair to look into the distance. When she discovered that the direction of the rising smoke was exactly where the Brandy Aerospace Center was, her lips trembled uncontrollably.
"No, this is impossible..."
The Brandy Aerospace Center was one of the most important national Bases in the U.S.; how could such a shocking explosion happen?
What on earth happened?!
Gunshots rang out, accompanied by other sounds. It seemed as if something was rushing this way. A black dot appeared at the edge of Sienna's vision, moving at an extremely high speed.
Staying here was obviously very foolish. Sienna hurriedly fled in the other direction along with the crowd, but at the last moment, she managed to see what that black dot was.
It was a monster that would scare her awake even if she saw it in her dreams!
Heh heh heh heh heh— Several Apache attack helicopters tore through the sky.
"Command, this is Alpha-6. Target confirmed, moving northwest, speed approximately 130 miles per hour... Damn it, I saw what it looks like. The Raiders is not human! It is a humanoid black monster!"
"Fire at will, fire!"
"Target hit, target hit!"
"It's playing dead!" "It's playing dead!"
"Command, the target has submerged into the sea. Repeat, the target has submerged into the sea!"
"..."
I don't know how much time passed, but seeing no one around, a black shadow crawled onto the riverbank.
Lin Fang took off his wet clothes, intending to take a brand-new set from the "warehouse" to change into. He was almost bloated from soaking in the water. All he did was rob an Aerospace Center; was it really necessary to deploy sea, land, and air forces and chase him from morning until night?
[Evacuation Time: 06:03:55]
Six hours left; he needed to find a safe place to stay as soon as possible.
At this moment, Venom's ferocious head popped out from Lin Fang's shoulder and roared: "I want to tear them apart and eat their brains!"
Lin Fang was accustomed to its post-facto tough talk and calmly put on his clothes: "Did I ever stop you from eating them?"
On the run, the loudmouthed Venom was almost turned into a sieve by 30mm autocannons and Hellfire missiles; only its powerful healing ability saved it.
And it was fast at scrambling away.
"It's because Orson's body is too weak," Venom continued to complain.
Arriving at a nearby town, Lin Fang prepared to find a hotel to stay in for a while. A young white man was sitting at the front desk watching the news.
"Dear viewers, Global News reporting for you. I am currently on the east coast of Florida. Do you see the crater behind me? This was originally the site of the largest Aerospace Center in the U.S."
"This morning, the You-Know-Who codenamed Raiders struck again. This is the third high-tech Base that the Raiders has stolen this month, following the 'Wangbo R&D Center' and the 'Bode Biological Research Institute.' U.S. aerospace development will be set back by more than 10 years."
"We have no way to stop this. This 'Raiders' with mysterious powers is destroying the U.S. He is the greatest international—no! The greatest Terrorists in history!"
"Who can stop him!"
"..."
The young white man at the front desk looked at the news with a worried expression, clasped his hands, and prayed earnestly: "May God bless the U.S."
"I believe He will."
The sudden voice startled the young man. Only then did he see an old man standing in front of him, though he didn't know when he had arrived.
The young white man hurriedly stood up: "Sir, I'm sorry. How can I help you?"
"A room."
[Evacuation from Venom Dimension successful. Obtained Supplies: Brandy Aerospace Center main body]
[Venom Dimension weight increased. Current weight: 98%]
It seems that one more exploration will reach one hundred percent. Lin Fang pondered for a moment. Relying on the power of Venom, plus the unreasonable containment properties of the Spacetime Package, this month's exploration could be said to be going smoothly.
It has been verified that the Spacetime Package can freely contain "individuals" within a 1000m × 1000m × 1000m range; it cannot handle anything larger.
If he had known about this ability beforehand back at the Farallon Islands, he wouldn't have died even once, but he would have missed out on the Metabolix Capsules.
This time, the commotion was too big. The U.S. authorities in that dimension were desperate; they were willing to open fire even in the city center to take him down.
Putting himself in their shoes, Lin Fang expressed that he could understand. If Bandits came to his home to rob things, he would definitely beat the crap out of them.
[Black Star at your service]
[Please confirm the transaction. Selling the Aerospace Center will earn 648 plunder points]
This price was beyond Lin Fang's expectations. He had thought it would be the same as the other two Bases this month, both in the 328 bracket.
Not bad. It seems U.S. aerospace still has some strength.
1, 6, 12, 38, 98, 198, 328, 648, 1288... This was the price list Lin Fang had summarized after dozens of transactions with Black Star. No matter what supplies he brought out, it only ever offered these 9 prices. The only time it reached 1288 was when he sold the "Fused Symbiote: Riot." As for what higher prices there might be, it was still unknown.
Lin Fang chose to sell. A modern Aerospace Center was indeed very tempting, but its volume was too massive; manifesting it into reality was impossible.
Looking at the Black Watch on his left hand: [Remaining plunder points: 2566]
This number made Lin Fang's eyes burn with heat. What could be more attractive than power? That would be even greater power!
"Black Star, consume 1566 plunder points to optimize my genes."
[Please confirm the transaction. 1566 plunder points will be consumed]
"Confirm."
Instantly, pain shot through his hand. Lin Fang clenched his fist, preparing to welcome the pain.
But unexpectedly, the pain in his wrist this time was much milder than the last. Lin Fang could even endure it while remaining conscious, with only a thin layer of sweat breaking out on his body.
A few minutes later, the pain faded.
Lin Fang loosened his palm; he felt that he was a little different now.
