122: Chapter 122 Martian Crisis

Boom, boom, boom—

Early in the morning, on Great Molo Island, Wamacha Rashid was awakened by a loud rumbling sound. However, there was no look of annoyance on the boy's face; instead, he showed a joyful expression, jumped off his bed, and ran outside.

A thin boy was waiting for him outside:

"Hurry up, Wamacha! I heard an even bigger ship arrived today!"

"Yeah, it's making such a loud noise."

Wamacha said in amazement. The two of them quickly ran toward the seaside together. They weren't the only ones; other children from different places were also running toward the pier.

The children lined up against the corrugated iron railing.

Wamacha focused his gaze on the giant ship approaching on the sea horizon; it was like a moving mountain of steel.

He had never seen such a large ship. Strange white letters were printed on the grey-blue hull, and the towering sides even blocked out the rising sun.

"C-H-I-N..." The girl beside him muttered the letters on the ship, the light in her eyes growing brighter: "Wow! I heard people say they build houses incredibly fast!"

"Who knows how much this ship costs?"

"I bet it costs at least a hundred million Molo Francs."

Listening to their discussion, Wamacha looked at several other large ships that had come from afar. This was a grand sight never before seen in Molo Country; dozens, even hundreds of ships surrounded the island opposite them, and the rumbling sounds from the island could be heard even here.

When news broke that Third-Party Technology had leased Ruang Island and was looking for construction contractors, construction companies worldwide went wild. Companies from Central Continent and Switzerland couldn't find the person in charge, so they rowed small rubber boats to Ruang Island overnight to seek cooperation.

After a fierce battle, Third-Party Technology signed agreements with several world-renowned construction groups.

Third-Party Technology contracted the "Ruang Island Development and Construction" project to three domestic companies and one German construction company; these four would handle all engineering and construction materials on the island.

The amount Third-Party Technology needed to pay for the first phase was 2 billion USD.

Once the companies received their payments, the massive infrastructure project officially began!

It is worth mentioning that during this period, many of the world's top designers, either publicly or privately, expressed their willingness to provide design plans for the development of Ruang Island, but they were all rejected.

A straight concrete road led directly to the center of the island. Luo Ping, wearing a red hat, jumped down from the vehicle. He was a senior engineer from Central Continent Civil Engineering. Here, Luo Ping was responsible for completing the construction of the Third-Party Technology branch building.

Machines had already begun to level the miscellaneous buildings in the area.

After greeting the person in charge, Luo Ping frowned at his work computer.

"Why hasn't the higher-up sent the blueprints yet?"

As an insider, Luo Ping had heard that Waldemar, the world-renowned designer, was willing to design this building for free, but the client stated that they would provide the blueprints themselves.

Luo Ping had heard of Third-Party Technology before, but looking at the bustling scene on the island, even the well-traveled Luo Ping couldn't help but feel emotional.

The project was simply too massive.

Damn, this company is so f*cking rich!

Just as Luo Ping was about to call his superior to ask, a file was sent to his computer, and at the same time, his phone rang.

"Old Luo, I'll give you a chance. You be my boss, and I'll go to the construction site, how about that?"

The opening sentence left Luo Ping stunned; the voice was filled with bitterness and reluctance.

"Fan Tong, what do you mean?"

"Literally what I said. Brother Luo, I'm begging you!"

Luo Ping had already opened the blueprint titled "Civilization Spire." Looking at the structure, even though it was just a corner, he understood why Fan Tong was acting so out of character.

Luo Ping didn't even notice his phone falling to the ground; he was staring blankly at the screen. The structure on the blueprint, even just a corner of it, made it impossible for him to look away.

It was simply too beautiful...

Under the cover of the island's bustling activity, a group of silent construction workers also arrived at an area about one kilometer from the building's planned site. After erecting walls to block the view from all sides, they began excavation work underground.

A patrolling manager happened to see them, but after seeing Li Chengjian, a senior executive of Third-Party Technology, also present, he quietly walked away.

The whole island belonged to them; why should he worry about it?

Countdown: 26276:16:36

On the neighboring island, Lin Fang looked at the icon representing the the wandering earth dimension on the Black Star; the countdown inside was decreasing second by second.

Below it was a set of celestial coordinates. Little Black calculated that these coordinates were located on Mars, meaning the disaster three years from now would originate from Mars.

Lin Fang pondered as he listened to the roars of the monsters outside.

"Black Star, I want to know about the disaster that will happen on Mars in three years."

[Please confirm the transaction; 5,000 plunder points are required.]

"Cancel."

"Black Star, I want to know your origin, why you chose me—I want to know everything."

[Please confirm the transaction; 30,000 plunder points are required.]

It was enough, but indeed expensive. Lin Fang frowned and chose to cancel. He needed those plunder points for something else today; his Force Field hadn't improved for a long time, and the effect of daily training was as slow as a snail.

Predicting the disaster wasn't urgent, and as for the later questions... there would be answers eventually.

"Black Star, consume 10,000 plunder points to optimize my genes."

After Lin Fang confirmed, the Black Watch on his wrist suddenly underwent a mutation. In his perception, it felt as if something had pierced through his skin.

The familiar sharp pain returned, like countless ants biting inside his body, quickly spreading throughout Lin Fang's entire frame.

When he obtained the Hive Base, Lin Fang had tried injecting gene optimization serums, but such powerful serums that could turn an ordinary person into a mini-superman had no effect on him.

Lin Fang clenched his teeth, his strong willpower preventing him from fainting. It wasn't until nearly two hours later that the sharp pain slowly subsided.

Lin Fang immediately took off the Black Watch that had injected him and found no wound on the back of his hand; the back of the Black Star was also perfectly smooth.

It was as if nothing had happened.

Feeling his Force Field, Lin Fang noticed something was wrong. Why was it only 100 meters? Based on the previous rate of 10 meters per 1,000 points, the range after this increase should have been 125 meters.

Is it reaching the limit again? Instead of being disappointed, Lin Fang felt a surge of joy. Last time he broke through the limit, he gained the powerful ability of the Force Field; what would it be this time?
