103: Liang Shiqiu's envy

While Nguyen Thi Thuy was chatting about Nguyen Thi Trinh, the two of them arrived at the water fetching spot.

This was a small stream flowing from the mountains, and the village had built a pool with stones.

The water was about a meter deep and crystal clear.

The large rocks and stone slabs by the pool were all wet, indicating that many people had fetched water here in the morning.

Li Qinghe carried the buckets over and filled two full buckets from the pool.

He easily picked them up and walked back, the buckets balanced steadily on his shoulders, not a drop of water spilling out.

In just over ten minutes, Nguyen Thi Thuy followed Li Qinghe on two trips, directly filling the large water cylinder at home.

By the time he went to fetch the second load of water, Nguyen Tan Minh had already returned home and was silently wiping down his black road bike.

Today, he would ride this handsome steed to make an appearance at Xiangyang County High School.

He had kept a low profile for two years, and in this final year before graduation, his sister, like an angel, returned with a wealthy brother-in-law.

From that day on, his life began to ascend: handsome clothes, the latest model phone, and this road bike he even dreamed of.

Nguyen Tan Minh was engrossed in wiping his beloved bike when he heard chattering voices behind him.

"Brother-in-law, then we'll leave after breakfast."

This was his lively younger sister's voice.

Soon after, a sharper voice, an octave higher than the sweet voice from just now, rang out: "Brother, why are you only wiping your motorcycle? You didn't even offer to help me wipe mine."

Nguyen Tan Minh turned his head to see Nguyen Thi Thuy standing in front of him with her hands on her hips, pouting and feigning anger.

Behind Nguyen Thi Thuy was Li Qinghe, walking steadily with the water buckets.

"Good morning, Brother-in-law, let me take it." Nguyen Tan Minh greeted Li Qinghe first, then immediately stepped forward to take the water buckets from Li Qinghe's shoulders.

"Good morning, A Ming, it's fine. Go wipe your bike; we'll leave after breakfast."

Li Qinghe subtly shifted to avoid Nguyen Tan Minh's hands.

"Oh." Nguyen Tan Minh obediently withdrew his hands; he had to listen to his brother-in-law.

After Li Qinghe carried the water into the house, Nguyen Tan Minh smiled and walked over to Nguyen Thi Thuy: "A Shui, go inside and look at your bike yourself."

Nguyen Thi Thuy peeked inside and saw that her bike had already been wiped sparkling clean and was parked there.

She then smiled shyly and tugged on Nguyen Tan Minh's clothes: "Thank you, Brother, you're the best."

Nguyen Tan Minh also feigned anger and shook off Nguyen Thi Thuy's hand: "Who was just complaining that I didn't wipe her bike?"

"Brother, the best brother in the world..." Nguyen Thi Thuy followed behind him, acting spoiled like when she was little... When Li Qinghe poured the water into the water cylinder, he saw that Tran Thi Bao Anh and Nguyen Thi Linh had already prepared breakfast.

Breakfast was quite hearty, with Rice Noodles, spring rolls, and pork offal porridge.

Luong Thi Thu had also already washed up and changed into a school uniform; it turned out her clothes had always been packed in her small black bag.

Although not as fashionable as when she wore a small skirt, wearing the school uniform highlighted the girl's natural beauty without makeup.

Though not tall, her body proportions were excellent.

Luong Thi Thu's hair was unusually thick, and whether it was naturally curly or specially permed, the voluminous mass of hair made one want to ruffle it.

Moreover, Luong Thi Thu particularly liked red bows; a splash of vibrant red in her shiny black hair instantly conveyed a sense of energy.

Luong Thi Thu

When Tran Thi Bao Anh saw Li Qinghe return with Nguyen Thi Thuy, she brought out all the breakfast.

It had been kept warm in the pot since it was prepared in the morning.

Now, a table full of steaming hot breakfast was laid out.

"Xiao Qiu, Xiao Ming, Xiao Shui, you all need to go to school later, hurry and eat, and be careful when riding the motorcycle."

Tran Thi Bao Anh served porridge to everyone while reminding those going to school.

"Mom, Brother-in-law said he and Sister are also going to Xiangyang County town later."

Nguyen Thi Thuy recounted what Li Qinghe had told her on the way.

"Hmm, your brother-in-law is taking Sister to handle some things; you all just focus on your studies."

Tran Thi Bao Anh casually responded; because Luong Thi Thu, an outsider, was present, she couldn't openly discuss Li Qinghe's plan to build a house for the family.

After all, it felt a bit inappropriate to show off in front of a young girl.

Li Qinghe held a large bowl of pork offal porridge, which Tran Thi Bao Anh had filled to the brim with pork offal.

So he lowered his head, slurping the porridge while using chopsticks to pick up a spring roll to eat with it.

The spring rolls made by Tran Thi Bao Anh were filled with pork and mint, giving them a refreshing taste.

The whole family sat cross-legged, eating in silence.

"A Qiu, have you prepared everything you need for school? If it's not enough, share with Xiao Shui."

The thoughtful Nguyen Thi Linh was concerned that Luong Thi Thu might not have enough living supplies and money for her week at school.

"Sister Linh, don't worry, my dad has already sent the things to the guardhouse. We can just pick them up when we get to school."

Luong Thi Thu happily responded to Nguyen Thi Linh's concern; she had a very enjoyable weekend with the Nguyen sisters.

Everything was perfect, except for the sounds that made her blush last night.

As she spoke, she secretly glanced at Li Qinghe, then at Nguyen Thi Linh, thinking of Nguyen Thi Thuy's new phone and new motorcycle.

Ah! How enviable!

Because Nguyen Thi Thuy and Nguyen Tan Minh would be at school for a week, Tran Thi Bao Anh prepared a large bag of fried spring rolls for them.

This food could last a long time in hot weather.

Since Luong Thi Thu was a guest, Tran Thi Bao Anh also prepared a bag for her, which deeply moved the girl.

Because Li Qinghe was also going to the county town, Nguyen Tan Minh and the others' belongings were all placed in the car.

"Aunt Bao Anh, you go to the village to handle the formalities today. Make sure all the benefits are in place; the rest can wait until A Ling and I return to deal with it..."

Li Qinghe was still instructing Tran Thi Bao Anh about her tasks for the day before getting into the car.

"I know, I've already prepared everything, all divided into envelopes."

Tran Thi Bao Anh did not feel annoyed by Li Qinghe's nagging; she enjoyed having a man in charge at home directing her work.

Having raised three children alone, Tran Thi Bao Anh was not as fragile as she appeared; all her vulnerabilities were hidden beneath a strong exterior.

Now, she finally didn't have to act so strong in everything, because there was a man in the family to shoulder the burden, so Tran Thi Bao Anh's expression was very relaxed.

Nguyen Thi Linh watched Li Qinghe and her mother interact harmoniously, feeling overjoyed; both were the most important people in her life.

Now they got along like a family, and her younger brother and sister also respected Li Qinghe greatly; everything was as she wished to see.

Nguyen Thi Linh was watching Li Qinghe and Tran Thi Bao Anh exchange words when Nguyen Thi Thuy suddenly leaned close to her: "Sister, this morning Brother-in-law and I met Nguyen Thi Trinh, and she said she wants to go out to work with you."

"Didn't Nguyen Thi Trinh say she received the bride price and was preparing to get married?"

Nguyen Thi Linh's reaction was identical to Nguyen Thi Thuy's earlier that morning.

Seeing that her sister also didn't know the situation, Nguyen Thi Thuy proudly explained Nguyen Thi Trinh's situation, which made Nguyen Thi Linh suddenly understand.

After talking about Nguyen Thi Trinh, Nguyen Thi Thuy mysteriously leaned into Nguyen Thi Linh's ear again: "Sister, I'll be able to help you in the future. Brother-in-law promised to let me make his millet porridge."
