110: Solving the hidden dangers of Nguyen Thi Trinh’s betrothal gift

"A Ling, take A Trinh home to cook and wait for me to return."

Li Qinghe turned and instructed Nguyen Thi Linh.

He deliberately gave this order in front of Nguyen Duc Chung, letting him know that although the transaction was not yet complete, Nguyen Thi Trinh was already his person.

But what he didn't know was that Nguyen Duc Chung was actually very happy for him to do this, because he had been deceived by Li Qinghe's acting just now and was very worried that Li Qinghe would not really trade with him but would go to the village to find other girls.

Now seeing Li Qinghe ask Nguyen Thi Linh to take Nguyen Thi Trinh home, he was more than willing.

"A Ling, tell A Trinh to go home and pack her important belongings; there's no need to bring clothes."

Li Qinghe was determined to have Nguyen Thi Trinh sever ties with this family.

Because if Nguyen Duc Chung could sell her once, he could sell her twice, and if the ties weren't completely broken, he didn't know what other troubles might arise in the future.

Watching Nguyen Thi Linh lead Nguyen Thi Trinh into the house, he also waved at Nguyen Duc Chung: "Get in the car."

When Li Qinghe sat in the driver's seat and started the car, he found Nguyen Duc Chung still standing outside the car, scratching his ears and cheeks in anxiety.

He had never ridden in a car before, and although he knew that pulling the door handle would open the door, he used too little force and was afraid of breaking the car door, so he still hadn't been able to open it.

Li Qinghe got out of the car impatiently and opened the back door for him.

He didn't want Nguyen Duc Chung sitting in the passenger seat; that look was just too uncomfortable.

After Nguyen Duc Chung got in the car, Li Qinghe slammed the door shut, turned to the driver's seat, and floored the accelerator, speeding away.

The dirt road in the countryside was uneven, and Nguyen Duc Chung was jolted back and forth in the back seat.

But he was secretly delighted.

He felt that this was his first time riding in a car driven by a big boss, and he would have something to brag about in the village later.

Nguyen Duc Chung now dared not consider himself Li Qinghe's father-in-law at all.

Because Li Qinghe had already made it clear that he was taking Nguyen Thi Trinh back to make Rice Noodles.

Rice Noodles must look like Rice Noodles, and the father of Rice Noodles must also be humble and not get carried away.

However, thinking about how he would receive another 130 million vietnamese dong after returning this betrothal gift, Nguyen Duc Chung's heart was bubbling with joy.

If he hadn't only had two children, and if he had another daughter, he would have asked Li Qinghe if he wanted to take her too.

With this money, he could find a wife for his son, ensuring a successor, and still save over 100 million vietnamese dong.

For Nguyen Duc Chung, this transaction was incredibly cost-effective.

Li Qinghe drove bumpy roads according to Nguyen Duc Chung's directions, all the way to the neighboring town, even wasting several minutes when Nguyen Duc Chung gave wrong directions and drove onto a fork in the road.

Finally, after much effort, they arrived in town, and Li Qinghe parked the car at the street corner, letting Nguyen Duc Chung walk in.

It was better for him to handle such matters himself; an outsider's abrupt intervention could lead to undesirable changes.

The man's shop was located in the middle of the town's main street. Li Qinghe watched Nguyen Duc Chung enter the shop, bowing and scraping, and it took him about half an hour to emerge.

Nguyen Duc Chung walked out carefully clutching a piece of paper, his face beaming with unconcealed joy, indicating that he had successfully achieved his goal.

"Boss Li, the matter is settled," Nguyen Duc Chung handed the paper to Li Qinghe as if presenting a treasure.

Li Qinghe took it and saw written on it: "Received 100 million vietnamese dong in returned betrothal gift from Nguyen Duc Chung, plus 20 million in compensation fees."

Below was the man's name, "Nguyen Manh Hai," and a fingerprint.

This person's character wasn't great, but he was still somewhat particular about how he did things.

This way, Nguyen Thi Trinh and Nguyen Manh Hai were completely free of any entanglement.

Li Qinghe put away the receipt and gestured to Nguyen Duc Chung with a flick of his head: "Get in the car!"

So, Nguyen Duc Chung, under the curious gazes of several passersby, pretended to be very skilled, forcefully pulled open the back car door, and climbed in.

Li Qinghe did not leave immediately but slowly drove around the town, even lowering the rear car window.

Such a red, rugged SUV appearing in the small town was still very eye-catching, attracting many curious and probing glances.

Nguyen Duc Chung didn't know Li Qinghe's intention, but he enjoyed this treatment, his mouth almost stretching to his ears.

He greeted several acquaintances he recognized who passed by the car, beaming with pride, telling them he was with the big boss on business.

Then, amidst the acquaintances' exclamations of admiration, he sat upright, maintaining a calm and reserved demeanor.

After circling the town, Li Qinghe drove back, leaving a topic of conversation for the townspeople.

Unfortunately, there was no printing shop in this town, so the things Li Qinghe had prepared could not be printed here.

The return journey was smooth. Upon arriving at Nguyen Duc Chung's house, Li Qinghe took out 130 million vietnamese dong, meeting Nguyen Duc Chung's expectant gaze.

But he demanded that Nguyen Duc Chung write a receipt.

So Nguyen Duc Chung went into the house and found Nguyen Thi Trinh's old exercise book, on which he crookedly wrote that he had received 230 million.

After signing his name, he even found a red pen to color his finger red and left a fingerprint.

Although Nguyen Duc Chung appeared well-behaved at this moment, Li Qinghe knew that he was only temporarily intimidated; once this feeling passed, other ideas would emerge.

So, before leaving, he warned Nguyen Duc Chung: "Once you get the money, keep your mouth shut. A Trinh is my person now. Don't bother us, or you know what kind of people money can hire to cause you trouble."

"I know, I know, Boss Li, rest assured."

Nguyen Duc Chung still maintained his submissive demeanor, but inwardly, he was immensely proud, feeling that he had gotten a great deal by selling for more than double the price.

Li Qinghe ignored him and drove away directly.

Returning to the tin house, he found that Tran Thi Bao Anh had not yet returned. Nguyen Thi Linh was in the kitchen with Nguyen Thi Trinh, preparing lunch.

"Brother, you're back! Come sit down and rest. Use this towel to wipe your sweat. Here's some chilled cola in the basin..."

Seeing Li Qinghe return, Nguyen Thi Linh busied herself serving him, while Nguyen Thi Trinh silently followed behind her, helping out.

When Nguyen Thi Linh took the towel, she helped carry the basin; when Nguyen Thi Linh took the drink, she helped hand over the straw.

"A Trinh is doing great, learning very quickly." Taking a big sip of the cool cola, Li Qinghe praised her, which immediately made the girl blush profusely.

"A Trinh, your family matters have been handled, and the betrothal gift from that man has been returned. Your father won't bother you anymore. In a couple of days, you'll come back to Hanoi with us..."

Li Qinghe told Nguyen Thi Trinh the outcome of the situation, also to reassure her.

"Thank you, Brother," Nguyen Thi Trinh smiled at Li Qinghe.

Li Qinghe discovered that even though this girl lived in a loveless family, her smile was still very sweet. If it weren't for the family pressure, she would be a girl who loved to laugh.

"Brother, Mom said she won't be back for lunch. Boss Hu took her to finish the town's paperwork this morning, and this afternoon, they'll go to the county to complete all the procedures."

Nguyen Thi Linh relayed Tran Thi Bao Anh's phone call instructions to Li Qinghe.

"Alright then, it'll just be the three of us for lunch. This afternoon, we'll go to the county town to buy A Trinh some clothes first, and then pick up Aunt Bao Anh."

Li Qinghe immediately made arrangements for the afternoon.

At Li Qinghe's request, Nguyen Thi Trinh left all her clothes at home except for what she was wearing.

Hearing that she was going to buy clothes for herself in the afternoon, a spark of excitement ignited in her eyes. She, too, would be able to wear beautiful clothes. She wondered what she would look like in pretty clothes, and if she would be as beautiful as the city people.
