13: Betting with the rich second generation of Vietnam

"Coach Xiang Cao, it seems someone isn't very friendly towards me."

Li Qinghe heard some unpleasant voices and immediately told Xiang Cao.

This was the gym's territory. Although it was in Vietnam, if Li Qinghe were to pursue the matter, it might cause an international dispute.

Hearing Li Qinghe, Xiang Cao was a bit conflicted. The people who came were all gym customers, and those particular customers were wealthy Vietnamese, considered second-generation rich.

She couldn't kick those customers out because of Li Qinghe, nor could she kick Li Qinghe out because of these Vietnamese rich second-generations.

After all, she was still Vietnamese and couldn't show too much favoritism.

Although Vietnamese people online were very impolite towards Dragon Country People, in real life, most Vietnamese showed enough respect to Dragon Country People.

Don't ask why; the answer is they've been beaten too painfully, so they can only bark wildly from behind the internet.

Seeing that Li Qinghe was about to have a conflict with these Greater Vietnam chauvinists, Xiang Cao, of course, didn't want to see the conflict escalate.

She hesitated for a moment: "Conflicts in the gym should be resolved in the gym's way. How about you all make a bet? Both sides propose the betting conditions. If you succeed, they lose the bet to you. If you don't, you lose the bet to them."

Li Qinghe agreed. He had just stolen the limelight and now wanted to do something to make them lose face.

Xiang Cao then went over and discussed with those wealthy Vietnamese rich second-generations for a while.

In this high-end gym, at first glance, everyone seemed to be Asian, and the differences in their appearance were not significant. In fact, there were people from various countries inside.

Japanese and Koreans accounted for a significant proportion, and there were also a few blonde, blue-eyed Westerners. The only actual Dragon Country People was Li Qinghe.

This proportion was similar to the situation of various countries doing business in Vietnam.

After discussing with the other party for a while, Xiang Cao came over and whispered in Li Qinghe's ear:

"They want you to deadlift four times your body weight. If you do it, they will apologize to you, admit you are a tough guy, and lose two hundred million vietnamese dong to you. If you can't do it, you have to apologize to them in front of their camera and admit you are a boastful clown. They will upload this video to YouTube."

"That's a good plan. Do I lack this money? Tell them, if I do it, they must apologize to me in front of my camera, and I will also upload the video to YouTube and Kuaishou."

Li Qinghe looked disdainful. In the past, he might have to consider such a provocation, but now, if he didn't confront them directly, it would mean the system had strengthened his body for nothing.

When Xiang Cao came back from the discussion, she said the other party agreed to the bet, but Li Qinghe's deadlift weight must be more than four times his body weight, at least 1KG more.

Li Qinghe directly waved to the three rich second-generations wearing Under Armour workout clothes, then spread his arms and announced the bet to the onlookers.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Li Qinghe re-measured his weight next to the weight area: 95KG.

Stimulated by the bet, everyone in the gym stopped exercising and chose to come and watch the excitement.

It's worth noting that currently, the only lifter on record who can deadlift four times his body weight is Krzysztof Wierzbicki from Poland.

He completed a 502KG challenge in his home gym, on the premise that his own body weight was 110KG.

Could this 95KG Dragon Country People man complete the four-times challenge?

Everyone was a little expectant.

Dozens of mobile phones were raised. In the internet age, information spreads very quickly.

Vietnam's internet has no external restrictions. Li Qinghe registered a YouTube account on the spot with his phone and told everyone present his account name in English:

"Hey, guys, this is my YouTube account. Everything that happens today, if you upload video content to YouTube, please @ me."

Most people present could understand English, not just the blonde, blue-eyed foreigners, but also those lifters from Japan and Korea.

The bet between Li Qinghe and these Vietnamese seemed to be just a private conflict.

In fact, it carried a bit of national honor conflict.

Those people from Japan and Korea seemed neutral, but in fact, they harbored ill intentions in secret.

The truly neutral people on the scene were the several fitness coaches and a few Westerners.

"A-He, are you okay?" Xiang Cao didn't forget that she was still Li Qinghe's personal coach and thoughtfully tied a weightlifting belt around his waist.

Her professionalism was impeccable.

As Li Qinghe followed Xiang Cao to the weightlifting area, the several Vietnamese who had bet with him also began to whisper.

"A Kun, this Dragon Country People won't succeed, will he?"

"How is that possible? Do you think all Dragon Country People are supermen? There are only a few lifters in the world who can deadlift four times their body weight."

"But I heard he just did weighted pull-ups with a full 200KG."

"The weight of a deadlift with a barbell on the ground is still quite different from weighted pull-ups with added body weight."

The Vietnamese man with a slicked-back hairstyle among the three looked confident.

In modern society, if someone achieved a deadlift of four times their body weight, it would have spread everywhere on various video platforms long ago.

These fitness enthusiasts seemed to have never seen this young Dragon Country People man on any platform.

So, this young man named A Kun was quite certain that Li Qinghe would not be able to deadlift four times his body weight.

His confidence also infected his companions.

"When we make him apologize in front of the camera later, make sure he states his identity as a Dragon Country People."

"A Xiong, don't go too far. Our families all do business with Dragon Country People."

"It's fine. We're just asking him to apologize for his bragging, and casually mentioning he's Dragon Country People shouldn't matter."

Li Qinghe followed Xiang Cao to the weightlifting area. While two fitness coaches, who volunteered to help Xiang Cao, were loading the plates onto the barbell,

He stood with his hands on his hips and loudly confirmed to the three young men: "Are you sure you want to make this bet? I'll give you one more chance. You can still choose to give up now."

"Dragon Country People, are you scared? It's no use. Even if you surrender now, you must apologize in front of the camera and tell everyone where you are from."

The young man named A Kun stepped forward to respond on behalf of the three.

"Alright, everyone heard it. The other party refused to give up, so I'm filming this video to prove that they insisted on the bet. Everyone, just wait for them to apologize."

Li Qinghe smiled and explained to the raised sports camera.

He deliberately asked that question to corner the other party, making them confirm the bet again.

Anyway, the whole story was filmed, so he wasn't afraid of the other party denying it, because the camera had captured them clearly.

For Li Qinghe, any material that benefited him was good material. This bet added a good topic to the content.

"Alright, A-He, we've loaded three times your weight, 285KG. You try it first."

Xiang Cao, with the help of two male coaches, finished loading the barbell plates.

Li Qinghe positioned the sports camera.

He stood in front of the barbell, tightened his belt, spread his feet, and looked at the three clowns with a playful glint in his eyes.

He bent down, grabbed the barbell, let out a soft grunt, and straightened his back. The barbell was lifted by Li Qinghe with sheer force.

"Oh~~"

The onlookers generously applauded.

Nearly 300KG of weight is not something everyone can lift. Many people might not even be able to lift the entire barbell off the ground, but Li Qinghe's state still showed he had more in him.

The gym coaches were also amazed. Although they specialized in this field, most of them couldn't deadlift more than three times their own body weight.

Having a record-breaking god appear in their gym would be excellent publicity for the gym's reputation.

"A-He, how much more should we add?"

Xiang Cao asked Li Qinghe with a somewhat familiar attitude.
