306: Drunk Shen Jiayi

In a three-bedroom HDB flat in Bukit Timah, Zhou Qin frowned as she looked at her daughter on the sofa, eyes slightly closed, cheeks flushed, and reeking of alcohol.

"Jiayi, hurry up and drink this honey water, alright? Oh dear, how could you drink so much?"

She placed the water on the nearby coffee table and nudged her daughter.

"Mm~ ~ Qinghe, big sister can't drink anymore~ ~ I've never drunk this much before."

Under Zhou Qin's push, Shen Jiayi on the sofa stirred, mumbling incoherently.

The sharp-eared Zhou Qin was both annoyed and amused. Shen Jiayi, who was usually very well-behaved, had reported to her before leaving work that a mainland client was registering a company today. He had already treated her and her colleagues to lunch, and would also treat them to dinner.

Clients treating them to meals happened from time to time.

But Shen Jiayi and her colleagues usually didn't go.

From the few words she just mumbled, it sounded like the client was younger than her.

Could it be a younger man?

It sounded very intriguing, and her daughter didn't seem to dislike this client.

Zhou Qin looked at Shen Jiayi, who wouldn't wake up with a push, so she had to reach out and lift her upper body, sitting behind Shen Jiayi so she could lean on her. But then she realized she couldn't reach the honey water.

She had no choice but to call out into the room: "Jiaxuan, come out and help me, alright?"

"Coming!"

With a crisp reply, a little girl in a plaid skirt ran out from the adjacent room. She had the same permed hair, and her still-childish face bore some resemblance to Shen Jiayi's.

Shen Jiaxuan

"Huh~ ~ Why did big sister drink so much? Did she go on a date with her boyfriend?"

"Hurry up and hand me the honey water. She was out for a client dinner, alright?" Zhou Qin looked at her younger daughter, exasperated.

"Qinghe, Sister Jiayi really can't drink anymore. Mama said girls who get drunk can be taken advantage of."

Shen Jiayi, with her eyes closed, showed a sweet smile on her face.

If Li Qinghe knew Shen Jiayi was so drunk, he would never have let her go home alone.

Zhou Qin looked at her eldest daughter in her arms, both annoyed and amused.

She took the honey water from Shen Jiaxuan's hand and put it to her mouth: "Alright, alright, just one last cup and no more."

"Qinghe, Sister Yuting, am I hallucinating? Why do I hear my Mama's voice?"

But Jiayi still didn't open her eyes, only turning her head around as if searching for something.

After a few seconds, she brought her mouth to the cup: "Alright, alright, I'll just have this last cup. You can't let me drink anymore, okay?"

After Zhou Qin helped Shen Jiayi finish the honey water, she looked up and saw Shen Jiaxuan happily holding her phone and recording.

"Haha, big sister is so embarrassing tonight."

"Jiaxuan, you can film, but you can't post it online, okay?"

"Got it!"

Shen Jiaxuan put down her phone, took the cup from Zhou Qin's hand, and ran to the kitchen to rinse it, then happily returned to her room.

"With this video, I can ask big sister for more pocket money."

"This little brat," Zhou Qin cursed with a smile.

Zhou Qin didn't help Shen Jiayi back to her room; she just let her continue to lie on the sofa, and even covered her stomach with a blanket.

It was rare to see Shen Jiayi drink so much; it seemed this mainland client had earned her trust.

Zhou Qin and her husband had no negative views on mainlanders.

Becoming a Singaporean citizen was merely a risk-averse choice made by a family slightly better off than average people... The next day, the sun rose as usual.

Zhang Rui continued to go to work, while Li Qinghe went to explore Singapore's renowned Little India.

First, he drove his car from Bukit Timah, paying 16 singapore dollar in parking fees, as the parking spot cost 1.4 singapore dollar per hour.

Such expensive parking fees, enough to eat two meals at a hawker center, no wonder most Singaporeans prefer to use public transport.

Li Qinghe drove all the way to the art district of Little India.

As more and more Indian faces appeared on the streets of Singapore, the presence of Indians in Singapore became increasingly important.

Some Indians even said online that Singapore is the cleanest city in India.

Some also claim that Singapore is about to become Indiapura.

And the current President of Singapore is of Indian descent. Doing a job like President fits the Indian style very well, as they are very familiar with Western rules.

People of Indian descent are different from the descendants of Chinese language who work honestly; they just open their mouths and boast, regardless of what happens later.

This led to them gaining a lot of support from Westerners.

People of Indian descent have now counterattacked many Western countries, even holding the position of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at one point.

As soon as one Indian person enters a place, he will quickly call his friends and bring in a large group of Indians.

And in Silicon Valley in the United States, a large number of people of Indian descent dominate.

Once upon a time, Indian faces were ubiquitous among middle and senior management in well-known American companies.

The famous Boeing is one such example, where numerous positions from top to bottom were held by Indian faces.

This led to Boeing aircraft continuing the tradition of their home country, India, with frequent crashes.

However, now Americans have come to their senses and are slowly clearing the influence of people of Indian descent in various major companies.

Currently, among Singapore's population of over 6 million, the number of citizens and permanent residents of Indian descent is less than 600,000.

However, among Singapore's floating population of over 2 million, the proportion of people of Indian descent is very high.

Ever since the Lee family declared that the third generation would not enter politics.

The proportion of people of Indian descent in the Singaporean government is now steadily increasing, and they have allied with Malays to secure various key positions.

However, the Chinese language community in Singapore has not completely lost its head; the presidency can be yours, but the position of prime minister is firmly held by the Chinese language.

Nevertheless, as the proportion of the Chinese language community in Singapore's population continues to decline, their status is also becoming precarious due to the combined impact of people of Indian descent and Malays.

However, one interesting point is that people of Indian descent were originally a group with a particularly high willingness to have children.

But in Singapore, the birth rate of older people of Indian descent is surprisingly on par with that of the Chinese language, also becoming a group with low fertility intentions.

However, the birth rate of older people of Indian descent in Singapore has been pulled up by the new people of Indian descent in Singapore.

Now, South Asian faces are ubiquitous on the streets of Singapore. Of course, this includes not only people of Indian descent but also people of Pakistani and Bangladeshi descent.

If these three ethnic groups didn't say anything, no one would be able to tell the difference between them.

Of course, a very important reason why Singapore has reached its current state is its complete Westernization.

It completely severed the roots of Chinese language culture, causing the Chinese language in Singapore to completely forget their origins.

However, while Singapore could sever the roots of Chinese language culture, it could not sever the roots of Indian culture.

Singapore's various measures have instead made the connection between Singaporean people of Indian descent and their motherland increasingly close.

Complete Westernization has made young Chinese language in Singapore completely unable to speak Chinese language, and such cultural transmission will lead them to have the same ideas as Chinese language in the United States.

That is self-hatred. Generation after generation's non-identification with Chinese language culture will ultimately lead Singapore down a path of no return.

At this moment, Li Qinghe stood on the streets of Little India with a complex mood, looking at the streets full of dark-skinned people.

Sometimes, to tell if a place's economy is vibrant, you look at the foot traffic in that area.

The Little India area indeed showed a different kind of vitality compared to other areas, because there were simply too many Indians here.

To be fair, the colorful Indian-style buildings here still look very striking.
