67: Easy guessing game

The suppression from his mother's bloodline left Li Qinghe a little dumbfounded. Was she that enthusiastic?

Her son was ignored, but she was impatient to see her future daughter-in-law.

What era was this, still practicing such discrimination? He endured it for his birth mother's sake.

Li Qinghe went downstairs, holding his phone, but the camera wasn't turned around.

He first spoke in Vietnamese to the girls in the living room, instructing them, "My mom called. Let's play a game where you help me make her guess who A Ling is."

All the girls found it very interesting and eagerly participated. Although Nguyen Thi Linh was very embarrassed, seeing so many classmates with her, she suppressed her shyness and stood with them.

So, under Li Qinghe's direction, the four girls stood in a row according to their height. The tallest, Nguyen Thi Linh, was on the left. Hoang Cat Tuong, who was about 1.65 meters tall, stood second.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc, about 1.62 meters, stood third.

Nguyen Hue Phuong, who was less than 1.6 meters, stood on the far right.

The height decrease was roughly consistent, but Nguyen Thi Linh was clearly a head taller than her other classmates.

Ignoring everything else, Li Qinghe flipped the camera around, "Mom, guess which one is your future daughter-in-law. You have three chances."

"Oh, these girls are all quite fair-skinned and well-behaved. What's there to guess? If you're so capable, you should make all of them your girlfriends. Never mind, it must be the tallest one..."

Listening to his mother's seemingly casual complaint, she instantly pinpointed the true target.

"Mom, you're too amazing! How did you guess it right away?" Li Qinghe flattered his mother with a look of shock.

"Hehe, what's there to guess? I know what you're going to do just by looking at you. You've already transferred a million to the family, which means you have money. With your character, you'd definitely dress up your girlfriend beautifully."

It's said that no one knows a son better than his mother. Li Qinghe's mother easily recognized Nguyen Thi Linh.

At the same time, she wasn't like other families who assumed their child had done something bad just because he earned money.

She eagerly asked Li Qinghe to point the camera at Nguyen Thi Linh.

Li Qinghe did as he was told, while also taking a look.

No wonder his mother recognized her at a glance; Nguyen Thi Linh indeed stood out among her classmates.

Today, she was wearing a beige short dress, revealing a pair of straight, slender legs. She also had a pearl necklace around her neck and a pair of ladies' leather shoes, making her look like a cute little fairy.

Nguyen Thi Linh

She was completely on a different level from her classmates, who were just wearing simple T-shirts and denim shorts.

It seemed A Ying had a significant influence on her, teaching Nguyen Thi Linh how to buy clothes and dress up, making her no longer like the naive girl who had just come from the countryside.

Seeing that Li Qinghe's mother immediately found Nguyen Thi Linh, Nguyen Hue Phuong and the others consciously moved to the nearby sofa and sat down, so as not to disturb the family's conversation.

Li Qinghe turned the camera around, putting himself and Nguyen Thi Linh in the same frame.

His mother didn't speak Vietnamese, and Nguyen Thi Linh didn't speak Dragon Country People, so Li Qinghe acted as the interpreter in between.

Nguyen Thi Linh was a little shy because, although Li Qinghe's mother's words and expressions were very warm, her gaze still carried a hint of scrutiny.

However, after hearing Li Qinghe say that Nguyen Thi Linh was a freshman at Hanoi University, a look of satisfaction appeared in her eyes.

She seemed happy that her pig had managed to get a good 'little white cabbage'.

The future mother-in-law and daughter-in-law chatted a lot through Li Qinghe's translation.

The three female classmates next to them sat there, laughing and enjoying the drama unfolding.

It was their first time seeing a scene where someone met the parents in their freshman year of university. They were gathering some experience, though they didn't know what they would use the experience of dealing with a Dragon Country People mother-in-law for.

The conversation lasted until 10 PM. The three classmates sitting side by side were getting a bit drowsy, swaying back and forth. After all, watching something new for a while was fine, but no one could endure watching it for several hours straight.

"Alright, Mom, it's already past 11 at home. You should rest quickly. I'll teach A Ling Dragon Country People in the future, and then you two can chat directly."

Li Qinghe looked at his mother, who was still in the mood to chat, having already inquired about Nguyen Thi Linh's ancestors for three generations.

If he didn't interrupt, they would probably chat until midnight. Vietnam time is one hour behind China, so his mother really had a lot of energy.

"Alright, you brat, you really forgot your mother for your wife. Treat her well. If you dare to bully her, just wait and see how I'll deal with you."

Li Qinghe translated it to Nguyen Thi Linh verbatim. Nguyen Thi Linh lowered her head shyly, but her heart felt sweet.

After Li Qinghe translated his mother's invitation for Nguyen Thi Linh to visit China when she had time.

He hung up the video call with Nguyen Thi Linh's obedient wave goodbye.

"Classmates, I'm so sorry for making you wait so long. A Ling, take your classmates upstairs to choose rooms. You'll stay here tonight and go to school with A Ling tomorrow."

Li Qinghe apologized to Nguyen Hue Phuong and the others. It was a bit impolite to invite them over as guests but then ignore them for several hours.

"Brother Qinghe, so you're Dragon Country People." Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc said to Li Qinghe in not-so-standard Dragon Country People, with a surprised look on her face.

"Xiao Yu, you can speak Dragon Country People? And quite standardly too."

Li Qinghe praised her.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc's Dragon Country People level was similar to that of many people in Guangxi Province, China.

"Yes, my home is in Lao Cai Province, right next to China. Across from us is Hekou in Yunnan Province, China." Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc told Li Qinghe happily.

Vietnamese people's attitudes towards China are polarized.

However, Vietnamese people living near the border crossings between the two countries generally have a higher degree of goodwill towards China because they have benefited from the open borders.

They also deeply feel the current strength of China.

The best way to make others treat you kindly is to have overwhelming strength and advantage; this is the truth of the world.

"Xiao Yu, are you planning to work in cross-border tourism between the two countries in the future?"

Li Qinghe looked at Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc, who had decent looks and figure, and thought she could make a living from it.

She no longer needed to specifically learn Dragon Country People. She just needed to learn some professional knowledge, and most importantly, get her diploma.

After that, much of what is learned in university is unlikely to be used in life and work.

"A Ling, when you have time, follow Xiao Yu and learn Dragon Country People first. Strive to be able to chat with my mom without a translator in the future."

Li Qinghe patted Nguyen Thi Linh's back, letting her learn from Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc first, and then he would consolidate and improve her skills himself.

Nguyen Hue Phuong and Hoang Cat Tuong looked at Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc with some envy.

Li Qinghe's arrangement made Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc's relationship with this family somewhat different.

"Xiao Yu, can we study together?"

Nguyen Hue Phuong asked directly.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc smiled and replied, "No problem! The few of us can form a Dragon Country People study group. Don't forget, Vietnam's only Confucius Institute is at our university."

Li Qinghe made the final decision, "From now on, you can follow A Ling back home to study and practice. There's enough space here for you to communicate."

Li Qinghe was also giving Nguyen Thi Linh something to do. Sometimes, if he wasn't home, she wouldn't be too bored.

After all, living alone in a five-story house was a bit empty.

A Ying lived a bit far away, otherwise, they could keep each other company.

Watching Nguyen Thi Linh sway her slender waist as she led her classmates upstairs to find rooms.

Li Qinghe noticed that this girl was becoming more and more feminine.

Tonight, he could start by teaching her the pinyin 'O'...
