98: Build a house on the site of the tin house

Of the five people sitting around the mat tonight, only Nguyen Tan Minh was missing.

However, with the addition of the clever and quirky Luong Thi Thu, the atmosphere of their late-night snack was still quite lively.

The two youngsters, Nguyen Thi Thuy and Luong Thi Thu, chattered to Tran Thi Bao Anh, recounting the shows they saw at the temple fair and the lanterns they bought.

They also bragged about Li Qinghe's strength on the wrestling platform.

For Tran Thi Bao Anh, any praise for her son-in-law was music to her ears now.

So, she watched Nguyen Thi Thuy praise Li Qinghe with a smile in her eyes.

"A-He, this is your favorite stir-fried eel, specially made spicy and without lemon juice. Eat more, it goes great with drinks."

Tran Thi Bao Anh added several more chopsticks full of eel segments to Li Qinghe's bowl.

She knew from the day he returned that Li Qinghe preferred the stir-fried eel here, and today she had specially prepared it, adding chili as Nguyen Thi Linh had suggested.

"Come, A Qiu, you try some too. This is a dish Auntie made using Chinese stir-frying methods."

"Hoo~~ Hiss~~ Auntie, this dish is so spicy!"

Luong Thi Thu opened her mouth, sticking out her small tongue, and kept panting. Although she could eat a little spicy food, she couldn't handle a dish this spicy.

"Quick, have a sip of wine to neutralize it."

Tonight, Luong Thi Thu, like Nguyen Thi Thuy, received two spoonfuls of wine.

Tran Thi Bao Anh had specifically asked her if she usually drank and how much she had ever drunk before giving it to her.

Nguyen Thi Linh also got an extra spoonful tonight because there was no soup stewed.

After eating a few chopsticks of eel segments, Li Qinghe picked up a piece of brown sugar cake and started eating.

And indeed, the brown sugar cake with coconut milk had a truly distinct flavor.

The family, plus Luong Thi Thu, enjoyed their late-night snack in a lively atmosphere.

Nguyen Thi Thuy and Luong Thi Thu were already flushed and tipsy, lying in Nguyen Tan Minh's room; they would rest there tonight.

Nguyen Thi Linh's cheeks were also rosy, but her movements were not significantly affected, and neither were Tran Thi Bao Anh's.

"A-He, wash up and go to your room to rest. A Ling will come after she helps me clean up," Tran Thi Bao Anh gently instructed Li Qinghe.

"Auntie Bao Anh, please wait a moment, there's something I need to discuss with you."

Li Qinghe spoke, asking Tran Thi Bao Anh not to rush with cleaning the dishes.

???

Tran Thi Bao Anh paused her cleaning, a little surprised, and stood up to look at Li Qinghe.

"A Ling, you come here too."

Nguyen Thi Linh also straightened up. She didn't know what Li Qinghe was going to do, but her intuition told her something big was about to happen.

"Auntie Bao Anh, A Ling, I want to discuss something with you two. Do you want to build a house on the original site of your current home, or buy a plot of land in Xiangyang County and build a house there?"

Li Qinghe's words made Tran Thi Bao Anh's mind go "buzz," and she felt completely disoriented.

She heard every word clearly, but put together, she didn't know what they meant, or rather, she didn't dare to imagine what they meant.

Beside her, Nguyen Thi Linh covered her mouth with one hand, and her eyes immediately welled up.

She never expected that after all Li Qinghe had done for her, he would actually help her family build a house.

At this moment, a thousand words condensed into a soft, "Brother!"

Tran Thi Bao Anh also came back to her senses, her eyes quickly reddening. She never dreamed that Li Qinghe would be willing to help her family build a house.

This was not like buying clothes or appliances. Li Qinghe buying her a new motorcycle today had already moved her beyond words.

Now, Li Qinghe was even saying he wanted to build a house for the family.

"A... A-He, you've already spent too much money on the family, you can't spend too much more."

Tran Thi Bao Anh said, a slight catch in her voice, then bit her lip tightly, deep teeth marks already visible. She was trying hard to keep herself from crying.

"Auntie Bao Anh, A Ling takes very good care of me, and that's all thanks to you. Don't worry about the money; I have more than enough. It's only right to spend some money on the family."

Tran Thi Bao Anh looked at Nguyen Thi Linh with an inquiring gaze. Could Li Qinghe really be that rich?

But she was met only with Nguyen Thi Linh's bewildered eyes.

For Nguyen Thi Linh, as long as she took good care of Li Qinghe in their daily life and cooperated with him for videos, that was enough.

As for how much money Li Qinghe actually had, she had never inquired. Anyway, the money Li Qinghe gave her, she felt, was already enough for a good life, even a very good life.

Unable to get an answer from Nguyen Thi Linh, Tran Thi Bao Anh could only turn her gaze back to Li Qinghe.

Li Qinghe held Nguyen Thi Linh's hand, her small hand white, tender, and boneless, with a cool, pleasant feel. He spoke confidently, meeting Tran Thi Bao Anh's gaze.

"This is my plan: if we build the house on the original site here, we'll initially allocate 5 billion vietnamese dong for construction costs."

"If we build the house in Xiangyang County, then we'll add another 3 billion for land purchase."

Li Qinghe's pace of speech was not fast; he tried his best to ensure Tran Thi Bao Anh could understand every word he said.

5 billion vietnamese dong is equivalent to over 1.3 million dragon country currency. Let alone in Vietnam, even in the countryside of China, it would be enough to build a beautiful large villa.

A total cost of 8 billion vietnamese dong, equivalent to over 2 million dragon country currency, would be enough in Vietnam to cover a house from construction to decoration, including all furniture and appliances.

Such a house in An Lac Commune, where Tran Thi Bao Anh and her family lived, would definitely be considered a top-tier luxury residence.

Nguyen Thi Linh, without any hesitation, snuggled into Li Qinghe's arms in front of Tran Thi Bao Anh.

She proudly showed her mother that she had found the best man in the world.

"I just don't know how big our family's land is around this house? Is it big enough to add another courtyard?"

Embracing Nguyen Thi Linh's soft waist, Li Qinghe gently kissed her forehead before turning to ask Tran Thi Bao Anh.

"Besides the wasteland where you park, the wasteland down the slope to the left of the house is also ours. This land has a land certificate in hand..."

Tran Thi Bao Anh recovered from the initial shock and began to respond clearly to Li Qinghe's questions.

She had already sensed Li Qinghe's determination and knew that this house would definitely be built.

After so many years, she finally felt the sense of security that came from having a man as the pillar of the family again.

Her upbringing had taught her that until Nguyen Tan Minh fully matured, the family should listen to Li Qinghe, so she no longer tried to refuse.

After reaching a consensus.

Tran Thi Bao Anh also expressed her thoughts, which was that there was no need to buy land in Xiangyang County.

Having lived in An Lac Commune for decades, she was familiar with every blade of grass and tree there.

Moreover, the land where the tin house was currently built belonged to her family, with a land certificate in hand, so no one could take it away.

The main reason was that Tran Thi Bao Anh felt there was no need to spend billions more on land in Xiangyang County.

Seeing that Tran Thi Bao Anh had accepted the idea of building a house, Li Qinghe also readily made the decision.

"Tomorrow is A Ming and A Shui's school day. We'll go to the county town together to find a reliable construction company to understand everything clearly. We can contract out the entire house construction."

"However, before that, all the necessary permits for building the house must be obtained in advance, so there won't be any hidden dangers during construction."

"Then, A-He, you and A Ling go to the county town to find a construction company, and I'll go to An Lac Commune to handle the building procedures."

Tran Thi Bao Anh proactively took on the task of handling the paperwork.

"Auntie Bao Anh, tomorrow, first seal up a few envelopes, with 10 million vietnamese dong in each envelope."
