299: Singapore is not a place to live permanently

In fact, Li Qinghe was also helping his cousin confirm Su Yao's thoughts again.

Zhang Rui had said that he worked in Singapore because he stayed after finishing his postgraduate studies there, and also because the salary was slightly higher than in China.

However, this place was completely devoid of human warmth and a sense of belonging.

From studying to working for so many years, Zhang Rui always felt that he did not belong here.

Especially after dating a local Singaporean girlfriend, he felt this sense of estrangement even more.

Even renting a house in Singapore was the same.

Because living space is tight in Singapore, it has always been a seller's market.

Zhang Rui had told Li Qinghe that landlords here were as picky as if they were looking for a son-in-law when choosing tenants.

The most favored here were Caucasian Westerners, followed by people from other countries in Asia.

Zhang Rui was lucky to meet a senior from his university who, out of alumni camaraderie, rented him the master bedroom at such a cheap price.

Otherwise, such a large master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom would cost at least 1700 to 1900 singapore dollars.

In fact, life for local young people in Singapore was not that easy either.

Although the Singaporean government had always claimed to ensure home ownership for all residents.

However, if local young people in Singapore were single, they were not allowed to buy HDB flats before the age of 35.

So many unmarried young people in their 30s still lived with their parents.

They also wanted their own independent space, but the reality was that they couldn't buy HDB flats, and apartment prices were too high to afford.

They could only continue to squeeze in with their parents at home.

This was the true reality of Singapore, a developed country.

As for Zhang Rui, although his monthly salary was over 10,000 singapore dollars.

After all living expenses, there wasn't actually much left, and HDB flats in Singapore were not sold to foreigners.

Foreigners could only buy high-end apartments and villas, with any private residence easily costing over a million singapore dollars.

Unless one was a second-generation rich or an industry elite, they simply couldn't afford such exorbitant housing prices.

The cost of living in Singapore was extremely high; walking through the streets and alleys, one could see elderly people with white hair still working hard everywhere.

This only proved one thing: Singapore's pension system simply couldn't allow all elderly people to enjoy their golden years.

So Zhang Rui planned to earn money in Singapore for a few years, then return to China to find a large company or start his own company.

If he found a Singaporean girlfriend, this would be very difficult to achieve.

And Zhang Rui did not want to change his nationality, so whether his girlfriend would return to China with him was a very important issue.

He confirmed it again through Li Qinghe.

Fortunately, Su Yao was also a smart girl; she clearly understood Zhang Rui's concerns, so she directly responded to Li Qinghe's question.

Su Yao also stayed in Singapore to work after graduating from university there; her salary was much less than Zhang Rui's, 5000 singapore dollars a month.

But converted to dragon country currency, it was still a high salary of over 20,000 a month.

She also deeply felt that staying in Singapore was unrealistic, and she could only earn more money while she was young, then return to China to find a similar company.

With experience working for foreign companies, some foreign enterprises back in China could still be an option.

Zhang Rui and Su Yao, having reached a consensus through Li Qinghe, exchanged glances, and the overflowing affection gave Li Qinghe goosebumps.

The two, having reaffirmed their feelings, made the whole atmosphere relax.

So the three quickly solved the dinner problem with food and drinks.

When Zhang Rui paid the bill, Li Qinghe took a look; the meal cost nearly 300 singapore dollars.

Converted to dragon country currency, it was over 500 per person, which was quite a high average customer price.

During dinner, Su Yao also asked Li Qinghe about his current job; if she were to introduce him to a girlfriend, she at least needed to understand his income situation.

Li Qinghe said that he was currently doing a small business with friends in Vietnam.

He was also involved in new self-media, and this visit was, first, to visit his cousin, and second, to register a self-media film and television company here.

As for income, Li Qinghe casually said it was decent, converting to tens of thousands of dragon country currency.

So Su Yao pondered in her mind which young girls she knew didn't have too high income requirements but had high demands for a partner's appearance.

"Qinghe, I'll ask around for you and try my best to find you a good girl."

On the way to People's Park Complex, Su Yao promised Li Qinghe that she would take this matter very seriously.

Seeing Su Yao's serious expression, Li Qinghe smiled.

"Sister-in-law, no offense, but I'm still young and actually prefer to find someone myself. Fate is fate; it's only fate if you encounter it."

After Li Qinghe said that, Su Yao looked him up and down and realized he was right.

With Li Qinghe's height and appearance, plus his decent income, many young girls would be smitten at first sight, so they wouldn't care about much else.

Su Yao was not a person who dwelled on things; hearing Li Qinghe clearly stating his unwillingness for her to make such introductions, she just smiled sweetly: "Alright, then if you ever have a change of heart, I'll help you introduce someone."

It was just past 6 o'clock when the three arrived at the People's Park parking platform.

It was the best time of day to capture nostalgic light and shadow.

Li Qinghe, as the main photographer, took many photos of Su Yao.

After seeing the finished photos, Su Yao was overjoyed: "Qinghe, you are amazing! I see many professional photographers who can't achieve the effects you do."

She felt that every photo Li Qinghe took had the feel of a blockbuster.

Under Li Qinghe's lens, one could see a rich sense of age, warm halos, youth and time, and frozen moments that would make one's lips curl slightly when reminiscing.

To be able to take such high-quality photos with just a mobile phone, a photographer of this caliber in Singapore would charge at least 2000 singapore dollars for two hours for an outdoor shoot.

Su Yao didn't have a deep understanding of what Li Qinghe meant by doing self-media before.

But after seeing Li Qinghe's photography skills, she knew its value was incredibly high.

"Qinghe, even if you open a photography studio in Singapore, you could make a fortune."

Su Yao gave Li Qinghe very sincere advice.

Although the photography studio industry was highly competitive, with Li Qinghe's skill level, standing out would be incredibly easy.

"Haha, sister-in-law, my goal is to open a film studio."

Li Qinghe casually mentioned a small direction he was aiming for.

"He Zai, the film industry is not that easy to navigate; you need to be careful," Zhang Rui looked at Li Qinghe with some concern.

Hearing that his younger cousin was planning to enter this circle, although he didn't know much about it, he knew it was very complex.

This was a true arena of fame and fortune, not somewhere ordinary people could thrive.

"Don't worry, big brother, I'm prepared," Li Qinghe put his arm around Zhang Rui's shoulder to comfort him, then pushed him towards Su Yao.

"Sister-in-law, quickly stand still and pose; I'll take a few more photos of you and my brother."

So, under Li Qinghe's direction, Su Yao and Zhang Rui took countless group photos.

Su Yao and the others were immersed in the high quality of Li Qinghe's photos.

They didn't even notice how his phone could have such a large storage capacity.

After taking countless classic and brilliant photos at People's Park.

Zhang Rui took Li Qinghe to drop Su Yao off at her rented apartment, because the strict Singaporean landlord regulations required 24 hours' notice for visitors.

So Zhang Rui and the others could only drop her off downstairs.

As Su Yao waved goodbye to the cousins, Li Qinghe called out:

"Sister-in-law, when you and my brother get married in the future, remember to notify me in advance; I'll personally take your wedding photos."

Su Yao showed a smile: "Okay, I'll definitely notify you in advance then."
