328: Today is not the day to discuss
Looking at Chen Daisy, who was incredibly frank beside him, Li Qinghe suddenly thought of a saying:
"When what I possess is far less than what I desire, then the only thing left on me that can be used for trade is sincerity."
It's just that some appreciate the content of such a transaction, while others despise it.
"Chen Daisy, are you sure you're ready?" Li Qinghe lowered his head slightly, his eyes meeting Chen Daisy's.
"I think so. I just don't know if you've accepted my idea."
Li Qinghe's gaze shifted downwards again, scanning the undulating landscape.
As he lowered his head, the sunglasses perched on his head inadvertently slid down to his nose.
Behind the sunglasses, a glint of light flashed in his eyes.
Li Qinghe raised his head but did not lift his eyes, scanning the surroundings. Then he looked ahead. Amidst a field of varying shades of green, two white stripes were particularly striking.
"What are your conditions?"
Qinghe was purely curious now about what kind of ideas and conditions Chen Daisy would have.
He had already experienced why wealthy people never worried about resources in this area; they could even be picky and choosy.
Because it was genuinely hard to refuse attractive girls when they took the initiative.
In Chen Daisy's flickering eyes, Li Qinghe saw something called anticipation.
"30,000 singapore dollars a month, I don't know if you can accept that. If not, 25,000 singapore dollars is also fine. But I want to live in a high-end bungalow or a luxury apartment. If you can buy me a car, that would be best, of course, but if not, it's okay; I can take a taxi or the subway."
Chen Daisy rattled off her conditions in one breath, sounding as if she had been preparing for them for a long time.
Emily, beside her, was completely dumbfounded.
Was this still the independent, proud girl radiating confidence whom she had known since childhood?
Even on the way to the bar, Chen Daisy had been lecturing her, saying that since men couldn't be relied on, one should live a high-quality life as an independent woman.
Make those stinky men stand aside.
Turns out the 'stinky men' who needed to stand aside were only those without wealth, height, or good looks.
Chen Daisy, you are such a Chen Daisy.
In her haste, Emily also hugged Li Qinghe's other arm.
"Boss, you can't stop an independent Singaporean young woman from pursuing her ideals and dreams."
Li Qinghe looked in surprise at Emily, who had pressed herself against him.
What was the little secretary doing joining in the fun?
"Daisy is a role model for us independent women. If she goes with the boss, our spiritual belief will collapse."
Hearing Emily's description, Chen Daisy tossed her long, straight hair, which had fallen to her chest, behind her back.
She stepped slightly forward, looking directly at Emily by Li Qinghe's side.
"Emily, what do you think of your new boss?"
"He's... he's very good."
"Then if your boss were to pursue you, would you agree?"
Emily looked up at the tall and handsome Li Qinghe, a little hesitant.
"It's just the three of us right now, speak boldly," Chen Daisy added.
Emily thought of her experiences following Li Qinghe all day today, and how thoughtfully he had arranged a private office for her.
"I... I probably would agree."
"Hmm, I understand. You're worried that if the boss gets with me, he won't get with you. Good sisters for life, we can be together."
A smile appeared on Chen Daisy's face.
"Is... is it the 'together' I'm thinking of?"
Emily hesitated: "Didn't we agree to be independent women? And to believe in not marrying?"
"We're not marrying the boss, so does that stop you from being an independent woman? Does that affect your belief in not marrying? It has absolutely no bearing!"
Chen Daisy clapped her hands, then spread them before Emily: "The boss doesn't restrict you from working, nor does he restrict you from shopping. Everything is free, isn't that right?"
Looking at Chen Daisy's pretty face and curvaceous figure,
Li Qinghe smiled.
"Singapore is the country with the most equal women in Asia. Regarding our matter, I don't think it can be clearly discussed here, nor is today suitable for discussion. How about finding a time and place tomorrow for an in-depth discussion?"
"Okay, you're the boss, you call the shots. Tomorrow is Saturday, Emily and I both have to work in the morning. Do we need to ask for leave? Oh, I almost forgot, Emily is your employee."
Chen Daisy was utterly frank, discussing such matters with Li Qinghe as if they were debating which hawker center had the best chicken rice.
It truly was a Singapore that valued "efficiency."
"Alright then, you two continue drinking, just don't get yourselves drunk." Li Qinghe gently pressed Chen Daisy and Emily back into their seats.
Chen Daisy tilted her head towards Li Qinghe, flashing a brilliant smile: "Don't worry about us, it's the first time in my life I'm preparing to give myself away, so don't disappoint us."
Li Qinghe spread his hands before Chen Daisy and Emily, then gently clenched them into fists under their curious gaze, before quickly opening them.
Two adorably ugly Labubu dolls thus appeared out of thin air before Chen Daisy and Emily.
"Wow, you're amazing!" Chen Daisy clapped her hands in delighted surprise.
Li Qinghe placed a finger to his lips, signaling her to be quieter: "I hope you'll be shouting that same phrase to me tomorrow."
Chen Daisy and Emily each held a Labubu doll, watching Li Qinghe's retreating back.
"Emily, it seems we've opened an extraordinary door."
Relaxed, Chen Daisy's previously bright eyes were now clouded with a hint of intoxication.
"Daisy, were you serious about what you just said?"
Emily, who had been listening and watching for a long time, still seemed to be in a daze, not having fully processed it.
"Emily, let me tell you, your boss is definitely the most interesting man we've met in over 20 years. If we miss him, we might never meet anyone like him again."
"But... but you and I..." Emily's usually smiling face was now clouded with worry. Although she had some unrealistic fantasies during the day, she truly hadn't made any preparations.
"Alright, don't think about that. I have a feeling he'll give us a huge surprise tomorrow, a really, really big one."
Chen Daisy had a look of absolute confidence.
"But what if he gives us a super big scare instead?" Emily pouted slightly.
For the first time, she felt that Chen Daisy, whom she had always admired a little, had done something completely unexpected today.
More importantly, she had dragged her into it too.
It was as if she hadn't agreed to anything, yet why was she included in all the conditions?
Emily felt this question was harder than her law exams.
This led her to gulp down her cocktail in one go.
"Sister, you seem to be getting into the groove." Chen Daisy also picked up a glass and drank half of it in large gulps.
"Emily, let me tell you, slightly tipsy is the most comfortable. You're sleeping at my place tonight; I have something to discuss with you."
