219: Saigon Men's Paradise
About half an hour later, Li Qinghe and the two Miss were happily walking on the outskirts of Pham Ngu Lao Street, having parked their motorbikes in a paid parking lot.
Night had already fallen, and the streetlights were beginning to glow, surrounded by a dazzling array of neon lights.
Even before reaching the main street, a distinct atmosphere, the scent of nightlife, was already spreading.
Pham Ngu Lao is considered a national hero by the people of Vietnam; he was a general of the Tran Dynasty and played a crucial role in Vietnam's second and third wars against the Yuan Dynasty.
Later, Pham Ngu Lao won numerous battles in successive wars and was regarded by the Vietnamese as one of the few outstanding military strategists in history.
Finally, Pham Ngu Lao also married a noblewoman from the Tran Dynasty's royal family, becoming part of the royal household.
Now, Saigon's most bustling and enchanting street is named Pham Ngu Lao Street.
In fact, the complete Pham Ngu Lao Street consists of three streets and an intervening H-shaped area.
These are Pham Ngu Lao Street, Hoang Hoa Tham Street, and Bui Vien Street.
Pham Ngu Lao Street Area
Both Pham Ngu Lao Street and Bui Vien Street are bar streets.
Pham Ngu Lao Street also has a nickname, 'Backpackers' Paradise,' and that area is mainly concentrated on Hoang Hoa Tham Street.
Hoang Hoa Tham Street is densely packed with various small hotels, youth hostels, coffee shops, and numerous small restaurants.
Backpackers from all over the world stay in this area, exploring during the day and enjoying the vibrant nightlife of the two bar streets in the evening.
Hidden in many alleys of this area are numerous massage parlors, nail salons, car rental shops, laundromats, and money exchange offices.
On Hoang Hoa Tham Street, many European and American white men can be seen with a petite Vietnamese Miss on their arm.
Tall girls like Zhang Meiqi and Li Mingyue are less common.
Li Qinghe took Zhang Meiqi and Li Mingyue, strolling from Bui Vien Street to Hoang Hoa Tham Street, and finally arriving at Pham Ngu Lao Street.
In comparison, the bar music on Bui Vien Street felt a bit more aggressive and wilder.
However, Li Qinghe and Zhang Meiqi both agreed that Bui Vien Street was livelier.
But Pham Ngu Lao Street had the most tourists, perhaps because it is the most famous, and people come specifically for its name.
In the evening, the bar street here essentially turns into a pedestrian street, with all the bars moving their chairs outside their storefronts, then enclosing them with barriers to define their operating area.
Because the entire street is filled with bars, the competition is extremely fierce.
Sexily dressed Miss constantly try to entice customers into their establishments.
Many bars also moved their dance stages to their doorways.
Beautiful dancers perform on the stages at the entrance, hoping to attract tourists' attention. In fact, passing by here, one can see many beautiful Miss performing on stage without spending any money.
Pham Ngu Lao Street
Of course, where there are women, there are men; interspersed among the bars with numerous beautiful female performers were four or five bars specifically featuring male stripper performances.
From time to time, female tourists, with a mix of demureness and excitement, would enter these male stripper bars, flanked by several muscular men.
Besides these, there were also some bars with live band performances. To block out external noise, these bars were designed to be more enclosed, allowing customers to better enjoy the band's show.
The atmosphere of drinking on the street is very suitable for European and American tourists.
They comfortably sit on the roadside with a bottle of beer; people strolling look at them, and they look at the people strolling.
Finally, everyone's gaze converges on the beautiful women performing at the bar entrances.
Li Qinghe took the two Miss for a walk around Pham Ngu Lao Street. Zhang Meiqi and Li Mingyue both held their bags tightly in front of them.
This habit is very necessary here, as they had already seen at least three or four instances of small Vietnamese people stealing tourists' bags while walking.
It was just that the crowded nature of the area made it difficult for snatch thieves on motorbikes to operate; otherwise, it would probably be even more chaotic here.
However, for Li Qinghe, as long as it didn't involve him directly, he wasn't interested in meddling in such affairs.
After all, he wasn't a saint; how could he possibly manage such things everywhere, just wasting his own time.
Finally, led by Zhang Meiqi, they entered a bar at the head of the street.
As a part-time model, she had heard a lot about the vibrant nightlife of Saigon but never had the chance to experience it.
Today was a good opportunity to fully experience Saigon's nightlife with Li Qinghe.
This was a fully enclosed bar. Li Qinghe had already seen at least seven or eight white people trying to enter the bar, but they were all turned away by the security guards at the door.
Zhang Meiqi told Li Qinghe that this bar only admitted Vietnamese locals, with the criteria being their appearance and fluency in Vietnamese.
It wasn't that foreigners were completely unwelcome, but they had to be accompanied by a local to enter.
Such restrictions were exactly the same as some bars in Hanoi.
It seemed that some wealthy Vietnamese were also consciously creating relatively safe entertainment venues for locals.
The security guards at the entrance clearly had local gang backgrounds; they should be considered a group of people who had 'washed ashore' and gone legitimate.
Bars that only cater to locals tend to be much more affordable.
The bar entrance fee was not cheap, 150,000 vietnamese dong per person, which is about 41 dragon country currency.
Only the white-collar class and above in Vietnam could afford it.
All three communicated fluently in Vietnamese with the security guards, confirming their identities.
After receiving 450,000 vietnamese dong from Li Qinghe, the security guards stamped a fluorescent mark on the back of each of their hands.
The security guard smiled and reminded Li Qinghe that the fluorescent mark would last for 12 hours, and also advised him to keep a close eye on his girlfriends.
Li Qinghe, showing off his muscular arms, laughed and said that two were not enough, and a few more would be no problem.
Since arriving, the three of them had consciously only communicated in Vietnamese.
They then realized that the DJ music inside was deafeningly loud, making it impossible to hear anything even when shouting into each other's ears.
The three found a sofa booth and sat down, and a waiter immediately came over with a drink menu.
Li Qinghe looked at the drink menu, which was quite affordable, so he chose his preferred Tiger Beer.
At 20,000 vietnamese dong a bottle, it was considered very cheap for a bar. Li Qinghe directly ordered a case of 36 bottles.
The prices here were a world apart from the bars Li Qinghe had seen outside, where a bottle cost 80,000 to 100,000 vietnamese dong.
No wonder they strictly controlled foreign entry; this was a perk for local party-goers.
The interior space of this bar was very spacious, with a DJ booth and a rather large dance floor at the very back.
Accompanied by dynamic English slow-rock music, the crowded dance floor was filled with people freely sweating it out.
Many beautiful Miss also stood by the tables or in the booths, swaying their sensual bodies.
"Brother Qinghe, it's so lively here!" Zhang Meiqi shouted into Li Qinghe's ear.
"It's more fun when it's lively when you're out!" Li Qinghe also leaned into her ear and shouted loudly, as otherwise, they couldn't hear each other at all.
Li Qinghe suddenly felt Li Mingyue leaning on his shoulder, seemingly about to tell him something.
Just as he turned, Li Mingyue was about to lean into his ear to speak, and with that turn, their lips met in a wet kiss.
