231: Shit-ass Vietnam shooting range

Li Qinghe, along with Zhang Meiqi and the other two, followed the group of Westerners towards the shooting range.

However, one thing was strange: shooting is very free in Western countries, so why would they come to a remote corner of Vietnam to play with guns?

They probably were swayed by the shooting range's slogan, 'No new weapons here, only old veterans who have been on the battlefield.' What does it feel like to shoot an old gun from decades ago?

Most of the people who go to the shooting range to play with guns are young Westerners.

They probably also wanted to see what kind of weapons wreaked havoc on the Vietnamese battlefield back then.

Before they even reached the shooting range, they heard a series of gunshots coming from not far away.

The weapon room of the shooting range is underground. According to other tourists, the Vietnamese national team's shooting range is next door, but the ammunition for training there is not as plentiful as that for tourists.

For Vietnamese people, this operation is very normal; after all, one is spending money, and the other is earning money.

However, one year, an Olympic shooting gold medal, which was also Vietnam's first Olympic shooting gold medal, was born from this training ground.

Among a group of tourists, Li Qinghe saw the gun cabinet at the shooting range.

As expected, they were all old guns. Rifles included AK47, M16, M1 Garand, and this carbine. Machine guns included the American M60, Soviet RPD, and PKM.

Handguns included the K54, which is the Vietnamese version of the Soviet Tokarev pistol, the Type 54 pistol, also known as the famous 'Big Black Star' in China.

Most of the guns' exteriors were quite mottled, proving that these were old guns from the battlefield.

However, given the tourist flow at this shooting range, even a new gun would look like this after about a month of use.

The rental experience for firearms on-site was divided into several combinations: AK-47 + K-54 for 1.2 million vietnamese dong, and M-16 + K-54 for the same price, which is over 320 dragon country currency.

Whether it was an American or Soviet machine gun, all were 800,000 vietnamese dong, which is about 220 dragon country currency.

All firearms cost 60,000 vietnamese dong per bullet, with a minimum purchase of ten rounds. These bullets are quite expensive, 16 dragon country currency per round.

However, machine gun shooting requires a family with 'mines,' because a 200-round belt, if the trigger is held down, will be emptied in just one minute.

For Li Qinghe, he is definitely one of those people with 'mines' now.

Li Qinghe chose the AK47 + M16 + K54 combination, for 2 million vietnamese dong, which means the rifle price is the same as the machine gun price.

For machine guns, he chose the M60 and RPD, with the firearms totaling 3.2 million vietnamese dong, equivalent to over 870 dragon country currency.

As for bullets, Li Qinghe generously bought 500 rounds, with each of the two machine guns equipped with a 200-round belt.

This was a big deal, 30 million vietnamese dong, equivalent to over 8,200 dragon country currency, which was even higher than the shooting range instructor's salary.

The Westerners queuing before and after him were all silently exclaiming, 'Oh my god!'

This Asian man seemed to be very generous with his money, and everyone was looking forward to seeing him wince from the recoil when shooting.

Because many wealthy Asians think shooting is a simple matter, but end up questioning life after being shaken by the recoil of some high-powered firearms.

Because he had previously won knowledge of light weapon mastery in a lottery, when he saw these firearms, the knowledge of light weapon mastery automatically appeared in Li Qinghe's mind.

He immediately recalled the parameters of various firearms and ammunition.

The RPD and AK47 use common ammunition, both 7.62 × 39 mm rounds.

The M16 uses 5.56 × 45 mm small-caliber ammunition.

The M60 uses 7.62 × 51 mm standard ammunition.

The K54 uses 7.62 × 25 mm pistol ammunition.

After reviewing all the knowledge in his mind, Li Qinghe felt that once he got his hands on these guns, he could instantly become a cold and ruthless killing machine.

"Brother Qinghe, with so many bullets, how long will it take to finish shooting them?"

Seeing the instructor happily loading the ammunition belt, Zhang Meiqi quietly tugged at Li Qinghe's clothes again.

"Yes, Brother Qinghe, getting hit by a gun will cause swelling..." Li Mingyue and Li Mingxing both gathered around Li Qinghe with concern.

They had originally just wanted to shoot a few rounds for the experience, but they didn't expect Li Qinghe to buy hundreds of rounds at once.

"Don't worry, machine gun bursts are very fast." Li Qinghe reached out and stroked their smooth backs.

As long as the firearms and ammunition here are rented and bought, you few can play however you want; the instructor will just make sure to control the number of bullets.

The space at the shooting range is limited, and so are the firearms, so it's not guaranteed that you can start shooting immediately upon entering.

Tourists who hadn't yet had their turn waited in a long queue outside the shooting range for the previous group of tourists to finish and come out.

Actually, they didn't have to wait very long; most tourists bought bullets in quantities of 10 rounds.

He didn't know if the instructor deliberately set the shooting mode or for some other reason, but most of the gunshots Li Qinghe heard were two-round bursts.

From time to time, he could also hear the 'ding' sound of the M1 Garand's clip ejecting from the gun after all the bullets were fired.

Machine gun fire was rarely heard; tourists were smart. It was just for the experience, there was no need to play with such a money-guzzler, after all, machine gun shooting was just burning money.

Ten bullets usually took less than a minute, and then tourists would walk out of the shooting range in a daze, probably feeling like they hadn't even gotten the hang of it yet.

There were also some tourists from the United States who clearly had experience with firearms; they were just there to experience the feel of shooting old guns. After leaving the shooting range, these people were enthusiastically discussing the pros and cons of various firearms.

It seems that when there's time, going to the United States to play with guns would be a good option.

Just then, two young Westerners walked by, chatting about how the shooting range in Vietnam was like 'dog shit,' completely incomparable to the variety of shooting ranges in Thailand.

Li Qinghe gained another piece of information: the shooting ranges in Thailand have more diverse firearms and ammunition. It is said that there are also shooting ranges operated by the Thai military, where those who enjoy shooting can fully experience the joy of it.

So Thailand is not only for shooting but also for shooting.

Li Qinghe saw that the girls next to him looked a bit expectant, so he gently patted their slender waists: "You can each shoot a few rounds with every gun. Don't worry, we'll buy more bullets when these run out."

"Brother Qinghe, we're a little nervous," Zhang Meiqi said, patting her chest.

"Do you want me to cover your hearts for you?" Li Qinghe smirked, lowering his head slightly and deliberately running his tongue quickly over his lips.

"Brother Qinghe, you're so naughty..."

"There are so many people around..."

Li Mingyue and Li Mingxing playfully hit Li Qinghe's shoulder.

As the line of tourists moved quickly, Li Qinghe and his companions had reached the entrance of the shooting range. From there, they could see the people shooting inside.

With that glance, Li Qinghe finally understood why those two young Westerners had said the shooting range here was like 'dog shit.'

Because along a row of shooting chest walls, all the guns had their muzzles fixed in place, and tourists could only shoot in a slight crouch.

This completely lacked the feeling of freedom in shooting.

It wasn't until Li Qinghe saw an instructor carrying an M60 and mounting it on a fixed stand that he felt a little more comfortable; at least the machine gun's muzzle could still rotate.

"Brother Qinghe, it's our turn soon!" Zhang Meiqi and the others were already cheering softly. Before shooting, they had already decided who would shoot which gun first, and now their fingers were already a bit restless.
