100: Day 30
Today was his first day in the Pure Purification Sect.
Unlike the Mist Origin Sect, the Pure Purification Sect only sought money and only sought to help others.
So, the first thing Ning did in the morning was go to the library to read.
According to the guide, you couldn't take books out, but you could stay there and read for as long as you wanted.
Ning had a month of free time, after which he had to go work at the Physicians Guild.
He didn't know what he was supposed to do at the Physicians Guild; he suspected it wasn't the same as what the First Elder did, and he wanted to read everything in the library.
He didn't actually need to learn directly from books, but he wanted to conserve his energy if possible.
“Hmm, if it gets too annoying, I'll just let the system teach me things.
Just like the information on beasts and the information the Mist Origin Sect lacked, the system probably has more than what these people possess,” he thought.
As he walked out of his room, he felt cold air drift over his bald head.
He found it strange, trying to comb his fingers through his hair, but there was nothing there.
“Sigh, at most a few months or years.
If I don't like living here, I'll leave,” he thought.
He arrived at the library, only to find that dozens of disciples and elders were already there.
“Oh, I thought I came quite early, but I didn't expect these people to be so diligent,” Ning thought.
“Well then, where should I start?” he wondered, picking up a book at random and beginning to read.
It was a book about medicine, introducing various methods of preparing pharmaceuticals and their different uses.
A medicine that could treat headaches by applying it to the forehead, and if eaten, could also relieve stomach pain.
There were also some medicines with different preparation methods, but ultimately, they all did the same thing.
Not all medicines were like this, and the book also explained which ones were which.
Ning didn't know how these medicines were made, but he still read the book cover to cover.
That was because he had bought something that morning, thanks to the energy he had accumulated during his 30 days at the tavern.
Eidetic Memory.
He spent 2 billion energy for a super memory.
To his disappointment, it wasn't anything spectacular.
A super memory could only help him remember what he wanted to remember.
This information was stored in his mind differently from normal information.
Reading a book and recalling the 16th sentence on page 32 didn't help one immediately understand things like information directly put into his brain by the system.
With Eidetic Memory, you had to sift through different memories to get to the point where you learned or experienced those things.
Ning found this annoying.
Thanks to the system's help, he could learn everything instantly and remember it as always.
But Eidetic Memory only helped him remember some things, and recalling things with it was very difficult.
Nevertheless, he read through the entire medicine book and closed his eyes.
He could clearly remember the entire book as if it were right in front of him, but understanding and learning these things still took some time.
Thankfully, with his intelligent mind, doing so was relatively easier, and once he felt he had grasped the knowledge in the book, he put the medicine book back and picked out a new one.
This time, it was about methods for turning ingredients into paste, and Ning read and learned about 3 more books over the next 10 hours, totaling 5 books learned today.
He returned home and cultivated, not leaving his hut for the next two days, doing nothing but cultivating and trying to figure out what happened in the 5 books he had read.
He tried to figure out how these five books combined and interacted.
Currently, they seemed to, but most didn't.
Still, these days were not wasted since he had finally learned everything.
On the fourth day, he set off for the library again, spending the entire day reading 4 different books, which were much more informative than the previous 5, so he could only read the same number.
He had to spend three days connecting the nine books.
Now, it could be said that he was one of the most knowledgeable people to have come to this sect in the past five years.
However, no one knew this yet.
On the 7th day, he went to the library again.
This time, he read 5 more books.
One of the books was so large that even with his reading speed, he could barely finish it in a day, so he used the system to instantly learn a little over 300 million contents.
Such was the breadth of knowledge in that book.
It took him 5 days to fully digest the knowledge gained that day.
With 14 books interconnected, seeing the relationship between an idea in one book and 3 different ideas in 3 different books was indeed a very daunting task.
However, he still managed to learn it.
On the 12th day, he went to the library again, learned 5 more books, and after memorizing them, he returned to his hut to reconnect these books.
On the 20th day, he learned 6 more books, and all information-type books related to healing and medicine in the library were exhausted.
Finally, he spent the next 10 days organizing everything he had learned since joining the sect into one pile and studying it comprehensively.
On the thirtieth day, he knew all the medical and healing knowledge in the sect.
