15: Chapter 15 Freya's Battle
The giant tiger in the sky let out an earth-shattering roar, and the many people flying in the sky fought with the tiger, creating a thunderous sound that was incredibly shocking, with various colors of abilities splashing everywhere.
On the ground, two of the five Ice Puppet created by Freya had already been destroyed by the monsters they were fighting, but they had also successfully killed many monsters.
Huff, huff.
After Freya killed one monster, she was almost out of breath, and another monster appeared from nowhere, forcing her to fight again. Her blue clothes were stained red with blood; it was impossible to distinguish which drop of blood was hers and which was from killing monsters.
However, no matter how much blood was on her, her scabbard and sword remained spotless, the blood always sliding off the scabbard like oil on water.
Freya killed another monster, this time a creature that resembled a wild boar but had huge tusks. Another Ice Golem fell, taking down more than a dozen monsters with it.
She looked around and found no other monsters coming for her, so she rested for a moment, recovering her breath. Each time she inhaled and exhaled, she took a long, deep breath.
The Nings father and son were both horrified and surprised by the situation before them. They were horrified by how severe this disaster was, with corpses strewn about and blood everywhere, making one wonder if it was winter now, along with screams and explosions. These were sights the Nings father and son had never witnessed, so both of them were filled with terror at this moment.
However, they were also surprised to discover that the girl who had been with them for over a year was incredibly powerful. She, along with her Ice Puppet, had single-handedly slain dozens of monsters.
They were also surprised to find that they had gained so much energy from the surrounding chaos. Although the thermal energy wasn't very high, there was a lot of sound energy, and they happily absorbed it.
Boom!
The Nings father and son suddenly focused their gaze upwards, witnessing the battle between the two men and the flying tiger.
“Hmm… isn't there one man missing up there?” asked Ning A.
“I think so. Where is that guy?” asked Ning B.
They looked around at the battle above but didn't see anyone else. From this, they could deduce what had happened to him. This person was either dead or severely injured and had to flee the battle.
There was also a possibility that this person had betrayed the team and fled, or was simply a coward who ran away. But seeing all the villagers dressed in the same clothes, fighting bravely and sacrificing their lives to prevent the monster army from entering the village, they dismissed the idea of viewing these people negatively.
They felt it was wrong to doubt them and diminish their glory. Suddenly, a loud bang came from above them, and they saw the tiger directly strike a man's chest.
Although their vision wasn't very good, they clearly saw that the man had exploded into pieces; there was no doubt he was dead.
This was a terrifying scene they had not expected at all. If they were human at this moment, even without death and destruction, that sight would absolutely have made them nauseous and vomit.
Suddenly, they saw something moving by a tree, and a monster walked directly out from there, its footsteps concealed by the continuous fighting sounds of the remaining two Ice Puppet.
“Oh my, no, behind her, we need to go help her.” said Ning A.
“What should we do then?” asked Ning B.
“Let me take control for a while.” said Ning A, and Ning B did not object.
Ning A didn't understand the local language, but he still shouted in it, “Behind you!” This voice, with its foreign language, startled Freya. Not knowing where the sound came from, she immediately turned around, her heart filled with unease.
The monster that had emerged stopped when it saw the girl turn around to face it. This monster was a deer-like creature, but instead of antlers, it had goat horns. And instead of ordinary teeth, it had large, sharp teeth, with particularly large fangs.
Its fur was dark brown, perfectly blending with the surrounding trees. If Ning A hadn't shouted, Freya would certainly have been ambushed by this chimera-like monster.
Though panting, Freya stood up, ready with her sword. The Ice Puppet were dispersing the monsters, but there were still some, and it would take some time to eliminate them.
Freya was sure they couldn't help her. But what worried her more was that this monster was undoubtedly the strongest she had encountered today. Or rather, the strongest monster she had ever encountered in her life.
She slowly raised her sword, and the sword gradually began to glow. Her chest rose and fell with each breath, waiting for the monster to make the first move.
This monster also seemed to have some intelligence, so it didn't attack directly but first tested the waters, letting out a strange roar from its mouth, which quickly transformed into a storm of blades shooting towards her.
She swung her sword, and countless blades turned into snowflakes. As the snowflakes fell, she once again prepared herself, ready to launch a counterattack.
However, the monster had already vanished from her side. Suddenly, she felt a chill on her right, and huge tusks tried to bite her from the side.
