107: Not pregnant
“Hello, Big Brother, whose match am I participating in today?” Ning asked the man at the registration hall.
“Hmm… let me check,” the man said, starting to search for something. Ning knew this person was under Neil’s command, tasked with finding him some random doctors, which would cause him trouble.
Neil couldn't directly do anything, or he would violate the guild's rules, so he could only do such despicable things.
“Ah, here it is. It’s the doctor from Room 42,” the man said.
“Room 42? No name?” Ning was surprised, and the man simply shook his head. Ning just left.
“Sigh, let it be. I’ve been here for two weeks already. It’s not like I haven’t seen all the bad doctors in the guild,” Ning thought. Most of the doctors under him weren’t even that bad at their jobs, it was just their professionalism.
“Throw whatever you want at me, you old fart, nothing will surprise me,” Ning thought as he opened the door to Room 42.
He was surprised.
He had expected many different doctors to guide him, but he hadn't expected this person to be here.
“Oh, good to see you here, Elder Neil. I’m surprised you want me as an attendant,” Ning said.
“Haha, little fellow. How’s life? Hellish?” Elder Neil asked.
“Hell? I don’t know what you’re talking about. Everything’s going smoothly. Only the first day was a bit bumpy, but otherwise, everything’s great. I guess I have you to thank for that, right?” Ning said.
“You little…” Elder Neil said angrily.
“Oh, wait, Elder Neil, there’s a patient here,” Ning said, leaving the angry Elder Neil behind.
He walked to the registration hall and brought the patient back.
The patient had a deep wound on his thigh, and Ning watched Elder Neil heal the wound.
“Damn, I can think of 5 ways to heal that wound, and all of them would cost less than half of what he’s doing,” Ning thought.
Ever since he obtained this information, he found the Physician Guild’s healing methods to be very inefficient.
Ning just shook his head and continued watching. Elder Neil couldn’t use Ning to trick the patient here, so he had to give the patient a proper price.
Ning brought patients in and out non-stop all day. At noon, he walked to the registration hall to pick up the next patient.
As he reached out, he saw a young woman with a bulging belly. “Pregnant?” Ning wondered.
“Miss, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” he asked.
“No. My stomach suddenly became this big, and I don’t know what to do,” she said.
Ning was a bit confused. “So, what should we do? This isn’t an abortion clinic. If something could be done earlier, but at that stage… wouldn’t that be murder?” he thought.
“Shh.”
Ning turned around and looked at the man at the registration desk. “What?” he asked, approaching.
The man whispered something in his ear that shocked him: “She’s not pregnant.”
“Huh? What?” Ning was startled.
He looked back at the woman and found that apart from her swollen belly, her entire body… he hoped she wasn't pregnant. It wasn't just Cheng Kun or Lu.
“Miss, you’re not pregnant?” he asked.
The girl blushed slightly and said, “No.”
Ning was very curious now, but he couldn’t examine her yet. “Please follow me,” he said, and had her follow him. On the way to the room, he checked her cultivation and found that she was at the Fifth Qi Condensation Realm.
“That’s too high,” he thought. “Are you a rogue cultivator, or do you belong to a sect?” Ning asked.
“I used to be a member of the Hawk Sect, but I left a few months ago,” she said.
“That defunct sect? Are there still disciples?” Ning asked.
“Haha, yes. The elders refused to do any maintenance, leaving the sect as it was. You should see the inside of the sect. There are huge pillars everywhere that look like they would fall with a gentle push, but the elders strongly insisted we leave them alone.”
“At some point, the quality of life there became so bad that I had to leave,” the woman said.
Soon, they arrived at the room and went inside. Elder Neil saw the “pregnant” woman and became curious. Before he could say anything, Ning walked over and told him.
“Her belly is very big, but she’s not pregnant,” he said.
“Not pregnant?” Neil looked at the woman curiously. “Didn’t you do that thing?” he asked.
“No, Doctor,” she said.
“Hmm… come over, let me see you,” he said, calling the woman over. Ning also looked at the woman curiously. Ning could tell she was really not pregnant.
He kept looking at her, trying to figure out the situation, but didn't get an immediate answer, so he began to dig deeper into his knowledge.
Elder Neil had her lift her robe to expose her belly. When she did, both Elder Neil and Ning were shocked.
Her entire stomach… had turned deep blue. It was almost as if someone had hit her, leaving a bruise. However, from the uniformity of the color, they were both very sure this was not a case of physical abuse.
Elder Neil was shocked because this was the first time in his life he had seen a patient with this condition. He had no idea what was going on, or even where to begin treatment.
So, he began to ask random questions to get more information.
On the other hand, Ning was also shocked, but for entirely different reasons. He was shocked because he knew what was wrong with the woman’s belly, and more importantly, he knew how to treat it.
