111: Back pain

“Oh, what’s written on it?” The people waiting in line for the volunteer asked the person in front of them.

“I—I think you should read it yourself,” the person in front said.

“What is it?” The people stepped forward to read.

- Ning (Volunteer) & Massage Expert -

“What’s going on?”

“A massacre in the Doctors Guild?”

“This volunteer is a bit… uh… you know, is there something wrong with his head?”

People started to doubt what was really going on here, even suspecting it was a prank.

“Actually, my back has been hurting for a while, I’m going to see what’s going on,” a man in the crowd said.

“What? Are you stupid? If you go back for your volunteer coupon, you’ll have to go all the way back to the end of the line, don’t you want to fix what you came here for first?”

Another person said.

“Oh, if that’s the case, then go for it. Take the risk for all of us.”

Another person said.

The man with back pain slowly walked forward and opened the door to the volunteer room.

Ning was waiting for the first person to arrive; he had already set up the bed he bought from the furniture store this morning, ready to welcome his first patient or customer.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Ning quickly turned his head, seeing a man walk into the room, “Finally, someone’s here,” he thought.

“How can I help you?” Ning asked.

“Well… I saw the massage thing over there, and my back has been hurting for a while, so I thought… um,” the man said.

“Ah, yes, I do massages, please lie on this bed,” Ning said, showing the man his new bed.

The man nervously walked to the bed and stopped, finally turning around to ask, “Do I need to… um, take off my clothes?” He couldn’t hide his nervousness at all.

“Your wish,” Ning said with a smile.

The man decided to take off his robe, revealing his upper body, and then lay face down on the bed.

Ning walked over to the man, bending his fingers, placing all of them on the man’s back, and then asked, “Are you ready?”

“Mmm,” the man confirmed.

Ning said nothing more and began his technique, followed by the 10-Finger Heaven Massage Technique. This was a technique he had bought from the system for 450 million energy, so it was one of the best massage techniques he could get at the moment.

All five fingers of his right hand and all five fingers of his left hand flew out, striking specific parts of the man’s back with specific force.

It was never light enough to be ineffective, but also never strong enough to cause harm. The strength of the fingers was perfect.

“Ah…” The man moaned happily as the pain and fatigue he had been feeling melted away, like snowflakes melting in the summer heat.

The man felt so good; he wanted to fall asleep right now. This lasted for a few minutes, and after 5 minutes, Ning stopped.

“Um, Doctor, what happened?” The man asked languidly.

“The treatment is over. Please check if the pain in your back is still there,” Ning asked.

“Um… Oh my, it’s gone, haha, the pain is gone,” the man exclaimed happily. “It seems you’ve recovered. May I ask for a rating for the volunteer coupon?” Ning asked.

“Of course, here you go. Definitely 5 points. You’re an amazing doctor,” the man said excitedly.

“Haha, thank you,” Ning said with a kind smile, feeling dizzy deep down at how easily he got 5 points.

“I’ll come again tomorrow, Doctor,” the man said and then left.

“You must come—wait until tomorrow? But I just healed you?” Ning said, but the man had already left.

Outside,

The man walked out, posture straight, a big smile on his face.

“Hey, brother, wait, wait, come here,” someone called to him.

“Oh, it’s you, what’s up?” the man asked.

“Where are you going? To get another coupon?” another person asked.

“What? No, I’m going home, I’m done for today,” the man said.

“What? Then what about your back pain?” another person asked.

“Haha, completely healed. If you have any body pain, you should also go to that volunteer. His massage is truly amazing,” the man said and then left.

“Is he joking or telling the truth?” The man didn’t understand, but he still didn’t plan to risk going to an unknown volunteer.

Rossol was one of the most popular volunteers now, having helped hundreds, if not thousands, of people. He was the one most people lined up for because they knew if they went to him, they would definitely be healed.

So, this man was also in line waiting for Rossol. He glanced ahead and saw that it was basically the end of the day. Even though he had come early in the morning, his turn would be very late.

He looked at Ning’s line, wondering if he should also go there. His problem was knee pain, no more severe than the previous person’s, so he considered it.

“No, I’m already here. I’ll stay and wait for Doctor Rossol.” He thought about it and continued to queue. He waited all day, and it was finally his turn, but in the end, he missed it by a few people.

If he had come earlier, he would have made it. “Sigh, definitely tomorrow,” he thought and went home.

Early in the morning, he returned to the line, but this time he was a bit late, and he definitely wouldn’t make it.
