14: I want to see snow again

The girl named Freya did nothing but train all day at the place with wooden stakes, and many people in the field watched her train.

"She must be very popular," Ning A said.

"Yes, look at all her fans, cheering her on from the sidelines," Ning B said, looking at the different people who were cheering Freya on during her normal training.

During the training, the system notified them that it was time to change control.

"Alright, you take charge for now," Ning B said.

"Ah, I can finally see what I want to see," Ning A said.

Later in the afternoon, Freya left training and went to a building with many books, spending nearly an hour flipping through them. Finally, she found a book she liked and walked out of the building.

She returned to her room and started reading. Ning A was in charge now, and he was curious about what she was doing.

"Do you think she's reading a story?" he asked the other Ning.

"Maybe, if I were in such a boring place with nothing to do, I'd go too," Ning B replied.

The young girl suddenly stood up, closed her eyes, placed her right hand in front of her, and with a slight movement, snowflakes began to fall.

"Wow! How amazing," Ning B said in shock.

"Yes, wait, isn't that a cultivator's ability?" Ning A asked, puzzled.

"Yes, that's a must," Ning B replied.

The two watched as Freya slowly carved an ice sculpture from the falling snowflakes. As more and more snowflakes fell, they coalesced into a humanoid figure holding a greatsword.

With a movement of her hand, the ice sculpture suddenly appeared and began to swing its blade, startling both of them.

"Puppets?" they both shouted at the same time.

Freya walked towards the sword, easily dodging the Ice Puppet that were swinging their swords for no reason, picked up the sword, drew it from its scabbard, dropped the scabbard, and walked towards the Ice Puppet.

She began an intense battle with the Ice Puppet. She dodged the Golems' attacks, which seemed impossible to them.

"Wow, she's amazing," Ning A said.

Ning B just watched the fight in silence.

After about half an hour of continuous fighting, the longsword in Freya's hand glowed, inflicting massive damage on the ice sculpture, shattering it into countless pieces.

<You gained 3400 energy points>

That sound alone caused Ning's energy to surge. The daytime training also brought Ning A lot of energy, but never this much.

"Did she recover faster during the three months I was asleep?" Ning A said.

"I think so too. By the way, the magic there..."

"Do you think it's fine to just use her to gather energy directly? That should be okay, right?" Ning B said.

"Maybe. What if we sleep again and wake up in a year? Maybe by then we'll be able to unlock another one. That would be a better idea, right?" Ning A said.

"Hmm... Yes, yes, let's do that, but first I'll ask the system. Hey, system, can we go back to being single?" Ning B asked.

"That's a good question. It's too hard not being able to do what I want for six hours," Ning A said.

<You can use the shop to achieve this>

"That shop again?" Ning A said.

"How much further?" Ning B also complained.

<Please accumulate more energy to unlock the shop>

The system almost automatically answered this question, and the Nings father and son were used to it, so they didn't react much.

"Alright then, let's sleep. It's a bit boring now," Ning B said.

"Yeah, system. Let us sleep until... uh... a year?" Ning A asked.

"Hmm... no, nine months. Will we still see snow then?" Ning B said.

"Oh, oh, that's a good idea. I really want to see snow again. Hey, system, let us sleep for nine months," Ning A said.

<Confirmed>

The two Nings slowly woke up. Nine months had passed, and they were looking forward to the next skill unlock. The system told them that full-range vision meant they could continuously see everything around them.

So, they originally thought they would see the room they were just in. But what they actually saw was something completely different. It could only be described as horror.

Countless cries and screams, torn bodies everywhere, and red blood stained most of the snow on the ground.

"What is this?" Ning A said, his voice trembling.

"What exactly is going on?" Ning B was also terrified.

They also saw Freya, covered in blood, who was a little older now than nine months ago. A black sash was tied to her robe, so she must have become an important figure while they were sleeping.

Thankfully, she was still alive. At least for now.

Countless notifications rang in their ears, and the battlefield was filled with chaotic rumbling and crashing sounds. They quickly turned off the notifications and focused their attention on their surroundings.

The first thing they noticed after that was that they were in a forest. The second thing was that there were many people fighting monster-like animals in the jungle. The third thing they noticed was that a wall had been pushed down by something, and hordes of monsters were entering there.

Boom!

A loud noise came from the sky, and the Nings father and son immediately looked up, only to see a group of men fighting a creature like a flying tiger.

With a wave of Freya's hand, five elaborately crafted Ice Puppet appeared before her, beginning to attack the various monsters around them.

On the other hand, Freya, with her bloodied body, walked a distance and began to fight another animal.
