73: Adaptation rate doubled
There are three Sects in Star-Gazing City: the Hawk Sect, the Pure Purification Sect, and the Mist Origin Sect.
The Hawk Sect is a common Sect where novice cultivators can go to learn and grow into cultivators. The Sect provides them with a competitive atmosphere, as well as different cultivation methods and techniques, to help them grow into cultivators.
Ning now stood in front of this particular Sect.
The Hawk Sect is located on the other side of the City, opposite the forest. However, it is not outside the City, so Ning did not need to leave the City to see this Sect. He couldn't go inside, so he just looked around, chewing on some snacks he had bought a few minutes ago.
"This doesn't look as good as I imagined," he thought as he looked at the Sect. From the outside, the Sect looked dilapidated, and even the main gate seemed like it could collapse at any moment.
"Don't they make much money?" he wondered.
He didn't want to look at this Sect anymore, so he returned the way he came, arriving at the City center, where the Pure Purification Sect was located.
The Pure Purification Sect is a Sect managed by what the System called Buddhist cultivators. Based on the basic cultivation knowledge he could remember, Buddhist cultivators seek to not harm others unless it is for their protection. The Pure Purification Sect focuses on healing and purifying the injuries of others.
However, everyone in the Pure Purification Sect was bald. Ning didn't like that. He liked his hair very much. Nevertheless, the idea of a group of people learning to heal and protect others made him feel it was a good Sect.
Finally, there was the Mist Origin Sect. It is located outside the City, so Ning would not go to see it for now. However, according to the System, the Mist Origin Sect is a beast-taming Sect, whose main focus is to tame wild beasts and work with them.
He liked the idea. "Imagine, I can tame that Yin Demon Serpent," he thought.
He looked at the sky and realized it was getting darker. He needed to find a place to stay as soon as possible. He quickly arrived at a tavern, which had information about the City and was also a dwelling for cultivators.
"How much does it cost to stay here for one night?" he asked.
"Two silver coins for a one-bed room, three silver coins for a two-bed room," the tavern manager said.
Ning nodded, pretending to take something out of his storage bag, but instead asked the System.
"Hey, System. Give me two gold coins," he said.
"<This will cost you 10,000,000 energy>"
"It's so cheap to stay for 10 days, let's go," he said.
"<Confirmed>"
Suddenly, two gold coins appeared in his sleeve. He took out the two gold coins, handed them to the tavern owner, and said, "Show me the best single bed room, I'll stay here for 10 days."
The tavern owner hurriedly treated him as a VIP, personally leading him to a clean, bright room. He tried to sell Ning food and bathing services, but Ning directly refused him and closed the door.
Then he sat down and began to cultivate.
While his body was cultivating, his mind was thinking about other things, and thanks to synchronized thinking, he didn't have to worry about getting qi deviation.
"Okay, System, I've been cultivating for over 160 years. My initial idea was to wait for my body's adaptation period, has it improved?" he asked.
"<No>"
"<Your body is in a frozen state, so everything is the same as before>"
"Sigh, that's what I thought. Well, I have to speed up. Do you know how to make it adapt to qi?" he asked.
"<There are several ways>"
"<You can pay 266,000,000 energy to accelerate the process by 2 times>"
"<You can pay 1,064,000,000 energy to accelerate the process by 4 times>"
"<You can pay 40,640,000,000 energy to accelerate the process by 8 times>"
"<You can now spend 216,000,000,000 energy to fully adapt>"
"Damn it," he cursed. If he wanted to collect so much energy, he would need to cultivate for a while. I should consider doubling my cultivation rate now. The first thing I need to do is figure out how to release this kinetic energy.
"Damn System is useless in these aspects," he thought.
He cultivated for 5 consecutive days, during which he harvested 200,000,000 energy. He used the remaining money to double his cultivation process.
Suddenly, he could feel his body cultivating much faster than before. He was now about 20% faster than before. He didn't know how much the System had improved his body, but it was clear that the adaptation rate had doubled, and there was also some progress in cultivation speed.
He also continued to cultivate for the next five days, never leaving the room, and collected another 200,000,000 energy. Finally, on the 10th day, he stopped cultivating. He could feel that a breakthrough was imminent, but he had to break through the bottleneck first.
Soon, he left the room, told the tavern manager he was leaving the tavern, paid a little for a day's delicious meal, and then left.
It was just dawn, and the fog had not yet dispersed. Ning walked towards the south of the City gate and left the City. Before him was a large forest, but his purpose for coming here had nothing to do with this forest.
This had something to do with what was located on the right side of the City.
