26: Yang Conversion

“Huh?” Hyesi looked around, surprised to suddenly hear someone speak.

“Is anyone there?” he asked, looking around the forest to see if anyone was there.

When he didn’t see anyone, he went around the tree, wanting to see if there was a kid hiding there, too weak to mock him.

When he didn’t find anyone, he just said, “Strange,” and continued climbing the tree.

“Did you hear that, kid? Stop climbing the tree! I can help you become stronger.” Another voice came from nowhere.

“Who’s there?” Hyesi became more worried and started looking around.

“Not there, here.” Ning’s voice came from the necklace, drawing Hyesi’s attention to himself.

Hyesi lowered his head, but didn’t immediately think the necklace was the source of the voice.

“Who are you? Where are you speaking from?” he asked.

Ning thought for a moment and said, “I am a gift from your mother, residing in this necklace, and I can make you stronger, kid.”

“You live in my necklace? How…?” Hyesi could hardly believe it.

“I…” Ning quickly thought and immediately replied, “Am your friend, your guardian, your God!”

Ning immediately began to feel ashamed for saying such ridiculous things.

However, Hyesi immediately believed him.

“You’re a God? Are you… Inikaga?” Hyesi asked with an innocent look of surprise.

“I… Huh? Uh… Yes… Yes, yes, yes, it’s me.” Ning began to lie.

Hyesi immediately knelt down, head touching the ground, crying out, “Great and brilliant Inikaga, please help your helpless child, please help me become stronger.”

Ning was surprised that Hyesi accepted so quickly that he was a God.

“Inimumu… Isn’t that the God they worshipped this morning? He thinks I’m the God?” he wondered.

“Kid, get up, I can’t help you become stronger.” Ning’s words immediately made Hyesi lose all hope.

“However, I can give you the ability to become stronger, but on the condition that you must do something yourself.” Ning’s current stone form was small, consuming very little energy to speak.

He kept talking to Hyesi like this, endlessly.

“I need to do something?” Hyesi asked, confused.

“Yes, do as I say, and I can give you power to make you stronger,” Ning replied.

“Yes, please tell me what to do.” Hyesi pleaded for some answers.

“Uh… For now, just sit down and meditate until I tell you what to do.” Ning said and then fell silent.

Hyesi did as Ning asked, sitting on the beach next to a palm tree and beginning to meditate.

He had just seen a glimmer of hope and was doing everything he could to make that glimmer brighter.

“Oh, that kid is really easy to fool. I thought I’d have to lie more, but he just said I was ina… iniki… whatever it was, and he immediately accepted it.”

“Alright, System, can you tell me what’s wrong with this kid?

Why is he considered weak even among the Villagers?” Ning asked the System.

His entire plan depended on whether he had enough energy to get information from the System, and he hoped the System wouldn’t disappoint him.

<Please purchase information from the shop>

“I know. Show me the information I can buy.” Ning said to the System, annoyed.

<The following information is available for purchase>

<Beginner: 5,000 energy>

<Intermediate: 50,000 energy>

<Advanced: 500,000 energy>

<Omniscient: 5,000,000 energy>

“Um… Where’s basic?” Ning asked.

<Due to the minimum price being 5,000. Only items at or above this price are displayed>

Ning said without hesitation, “Give me the intermediate.”

A flood of knowledge poured into his mind as he understood what was wrong with Hyesi.

“I see,” he thought.

The cultivation method used by Hyesi and the other Villagers was called the Sun Gods Morning Purification Technique.

Every morning, they would perform a series of preparations to welcome the first rays of sunlight.

They would use the time from when the sun first rose until it was fully up to purify the Villagers’ bodies, which helped them become stronger.

All the Villagers did this every day, gaining varying degrees of strength, but no one was as weak as Hyesi.

This was due to Hyesi’s body itself.

The Sun Gods Morning Purification Technique uses the sun’s Yang to purify everyone’s body.

However, Hyesi’s body was primarily Yin.

This meant that every night, his body would accumulate Yin, and when he used the purification technique, most of the Yin would be lost due to Yin and Yang canceling each other out.

And the remaining Yang was barely enough for him to maintain his current strength.

“So, if I can somehow remove the Yin from his body every night before the sun rises, he’ll be able to do it, right?” he asked the System, but there was no answer.

“Hey, System, how do I get rid of the Yin?” he asked.

<There are multiple methods>

<Introduce your own Yang to counteract the Yin>

<Teach this kid a technique to get rid of the Yin himself>

<Absorb the Yin yourself and convert it into your own energy>

“Hmm… The first one doesn’t make sense for me. I don’t think wasting my own energy is a good idea.

The second one looks best for the kid, but, haha… I won’t do that for the kid.”

“System, teach me how to absorb Yin?” he asked the System.

<You can spend 22,000,000 energy to purchase 'Yin to Heat Technique' or spend 20,000,000 energy to purchase 'Yin to Sound Technique'>

“Hmm… Sound isn’t very useful, because I don’t want to wake people up at night.

This means I have to use heat conversion. This will consume a lot of my energy, and I don’t have any energy right now.”

“I guess it’s time for this kid to fulfill his obligations now.”
