110: Day 1

It took a full day for the results to be announced. During the day, Ning had no choice but to work as a server, waiting for the results.

At one point, Ning was with a female doctor who was too good for her. Every patient she encountered, she treated them as a problem she needed to solve, regardless of their feelings.

She would find the cause and then tell them directly.

‘Damn it, does this doctor not understand bedside manner?’ Ning wondered.

She was also quite unpleasant to him, and he struggled through the day, trying not to get angry with her, managing to get through the entire day without any incidents.

“Ah, finally, I can see the results.” He thought, returning to the study hall. He and everyone else who took the exam were brought back to the examination room.

“We have finished checking your answers, and the results are out,” the elder who administered the exam returned.

The elder said, “Among your entire group, 10 people passed the test.”

“Only 10 people? But over 200 people took the test, this is a pretty good filter,” Ning thought.

“I will now announce the names of the new volunteers,” the elder said, and began to loudly speak out the different names of the new volunteers.

Ning waited for his name to be called, and it didn’t take long. As expected, he easily passed the exam. However, the elders did not tell them what their scores were or anything like that.

Those who didn't pass left dejectedly, swearing to do better, while Ning and the others were forced to stay for more information.

Then, the elder told them how volunteering worked, aside from the medical aspect. They wouldn't earn money themselves but would earn points based on how many patients they could treat and the level of treatment.

Once they accumulated enough points, they could take one of the three exams required to become a doctor, and if they failed, the cost of the next exam would be halved.

In total, each patient could earn a maximum of 5 points, and the medical examination required 2000 points.

“Hmm… I need 400 patients to give me 5 points, or 2000 patients to give me 1 point, just for a chance at one exam? Phew,” Ning thought.

The 10 people received some more information before school ended, and Ning returned to his cabin, deciding to get some sleep for now.

Tomorrow was a big day.

Early in the morning, Ning woke up and went to the Physicians Guild. The volunteer section had its own side entrance, so Ning went there. He had been here before, but always from the inside, never from the outside.

When he saw the line of people waiting for treatment, he exclaimed in horror, “Wow!” None of them seemed seriously injured or ill, they had only come for minor issues.

Ning walked in and quickly found a room with his name on it. “Alas, we don’t have servers?” he thought, recalling what had been said yesterday.

His job was to go in and wait. He didn’t see patients like other doctors; he could only wait for them to come to him.

Ning waited and waited, but no one came. Finally, at noon, his door finally opened, and a man walked in and saw him. Then, he turned to look at the name on the board, said, “Sorry, wrong place,” and walked out.

Ning was speechless, and for the rest of the day, he didn't get any patients.

“Damn it, this is too difficult,” he thought. “How do I attract people?” he wondered. He returned to his cabin to think of different ideas.

“If I want to get more, I might need to be popular, but how do I do that?” he wondered. “I’m already working for free, so I can’t lower my prices. I can’t show off my knowledge without getting a chance.”

“Should I promise everyone who visits me a silver coin? No, if the Guild found out, they might think I’m not following the rules. I can’t do that.”

“Hmm… so the only option left for me is to do something… that doesn’t exist in the Guild yet,” Ning thought, “What doesn’t exist yet?”

Ning thought for a while, trying to come up with new ideas, and finally, brilliance struck.

‘That’s it, System, show me…’ He asked for what he wanted and bought it from the System.

He smiled at this new plan, with new information appearing in his mind. “Haha, this will definitely work.” He thought. Then, he started practicing again.

So far, his body had almost adapted to the aura of the planet, and he was one step closer to the Seventh Qi Condensation realm. He would soon be able to break through. His body cultivation was also at a similar level and would follow his Qi cultivation soon after.

As for his mental strength, it was growing at a fairly fast pace, not amazing, but not bad either.

Early in the morning, Ning woke up and left his cabin. However, he didn’t go to the Guild; instead, he went to the furniture store to get what he needed. After getting it, he returned to the volunteer hall.

Under the gaze of different people, Ning walked towards his room. However, he didn’t go in; instead, he took down the sign with his name on it and started writing something else on it.

As soon as he finished writing, he put the sign back and walked in. People were stunned by the casual action of one of the volunteers and went in to see what was written.

However, when they read the article, they couldn't help but make a single sound.

What's going on.
