Telepathy. The ability to move objects in space with just one's mind.
Many people fantasized about having Telepathy, but these were mostly just fantasies. Until now.
Ning is currently residing on a large rock in the middle of a clearing. He discovered this place while randomly teleporting and found it to be a good spot for planting. He was tired of delivering food to the Villagers and decided to just leave them a farm.
In doing so, he would also unlock everything he needed for his own advancement.
More than a month had passed since he delivered the bird carcasses to the Villagers, decided to change his approach, and accumulated a large amount of energy.
When he collected 250 million energy, the first thing he did was increase the cap on his daily energy gain. Now, the daily energy gain was 10 million. The next cap was surprisingly 10 billion, not 2.5 billion.
He then spent a few more days accumulating a large amount of energy. When he finally had enough, what he did was purchase the Telepathy skill when his energy reached 240 million. That was a few hours ago.
He is now using Telepathy to take the large wooden spikes he made with his Air Cutter from the surrounding trees and place them around this area.
He didn't want monsters to destroy the fields, so he used the wooden spikes, throwing them high into the air and then letting them fall to create a fence.
Just as he had hammered in half the spikes, his head started to feel dizzy, so he stopped.
"Oh my, this requires a lot of mental power," Ning thought. Telepathy is a strange ability. Its usage is a mix of other techniques, depending on the weight of the object the host resides in.
If the mass of the residing object is greater than the mass of the Telepathy target, then Ning needs mental energy to move it.
If the mass of the residing object is less than the mass of the Telepathy target, then Ning needs energy to move it.
The consumption of both mental power and regular energy is determined by the mass of the Telepathy target, regardless of which body he inhabits. So, he is currently in a large rock, which only consumes mental power and doesn't waste any physical energy.
Ning rested for a while, jumped into a small stone, and teleported to a nearby tree. He used his Air Cutter to cut the tree into logs, then cut them into sharp spikes. Then he used Telepathy to throw the wooden spikes back to the field and teleported back to the field himself. After jumping back into the large rock, he decided to rest for a while.
He began to think about what he could do next after this was finished.
"I can leave anytime, can't I?" he thought. "But I don't want to leave these Villagers to starve like this. I have to help them defeat that demon or whatever."
"Sigh, I'll have to get a body soon, but I need a body that isn't easily killed. Otherwise, there's no point in creating one. Maybe I should create a body that can cultivate." He began to feel a certain excitement.
"Hey, System, can any human body cultivate?" he asked.
<No. A body with a spiritual root is required to cultivate>
[Otherwise, it can only cultivate its physical body]
"Hmm... cultivating the physique isn't very useful, to be honest. Doing the same thing all day seems too boring. It's better to get a normal body that can cultivate. Okay, let's get this spiritual root. System, how much does it cost?"
he asked.
<Spirituality 200500 roots ranging from millions of energy to billions>
"Wow! Why is there such a huge difference?" he asked.
<Based on the quality of the spiritual root, it helps the cultivator in their practice> "Sigh. Alright, then I'll buy these later."
Ning rested for a while longer. After resting, his mental power recovered, and he went back to work. By the end of the day, he had planted all the wooden spikes around the field.
"That's enough for today," he thought, and then he went to sleep.
In the early morning, just as the cooldown ended, Ning woke up. As soon as he woke, he began to absorb the surrounding Yin, converting it into Heat Energy. Unfortunately, he only gained 2 million energy.
"Damn, this place is too open; the sunlight clears the Yin too quickly." He jumped into a small stone and randomly teleported deep into the jungle. After reaching a shadowy place, he continued to absorb again.
The surface area of the small stone was tiny, so it took a long time to gather the Yin and convert it into heat. After a few minutes, he finally finished.
"Alright, let's go back to work," he thought.
He teleported back to the field again, took a pointed piece of wood, and today he was going to make the actual field.
"If I had a tractor, or even just a hoe, this would be much easier. But I guess I'll have to make do." He began to carve the ground with his mental power. Carving the ground was much more strenuous than simply dropping logs from above, so he had to rest more often than he would have liked.
However, with these rests, he successfully carved out the entire field, and by the end of the day, the field was ready for plants to start growing.
"Now I just need some water and seeds."
