72: Star sight

In less than a day, Ning walked out of the forest.

Following the old man named Qezir Brauch and the young woman named Mi Kai La Brauch was not a mistake for Ning.

Besides his name and birthplace, the old man did not ask him any questions.

So, Ning decided not to ask any questions in return either.

Thus, the rest of the journey was silent and awkward.

He occasionally saw men and women, alone and in groups, walking around in the forest.

However, it seemed no one wanted to talk to anyone.

Finally, after leaving the forest, he saw a City in front of him.

“Welcome to Starsight City, my young friend,” the old man said.

“Wow,” Ning said, looking at the huge City walls, “This reminds me of the City walls in the Southern Continent,” he thought.

“Do you often have monster invasions in your town?” Ning asked directly.

“It used to be, but not anymore.

Initially, there were no people here at all, so monsters ran rampant.

To counter this, the people at that time built these massive City walls here.”

However, as time passed, the City's population grew, and some of them were strong cultivators who cleared out any strong monsters in the forest.

“Now, the furthest they can go is the fifth realm of Qi Condensation, and most of the disciples in this City are at this realm,” the old man said.

“I see,” Ning said.

The old man suddenly took out two round metal pieces and handed them to Ning.

Ning looked at them and was surprised.

“Coins?” he asked.

“Yes, they are silver coins.

You need 5 copper coins to enter.

You can keep the rest for yourself and find a place to settle down in this City.

Now, I have some important tasks to complete, so I must bid you farewell, my young friend,” the old man said.

“Ah, well, thank you for saving my life and bringing me all the way to the City,” Ning said.

“Take care, young man.

Amitabha.”

After speaking, the old man and the young woman hurried away from the newly arrived Ning and entered the City.

He saw that when the old man entered the City, not even the guards stopped him, and the people around him bowed in greeting.

“Is that person a big shot in this City?” Ning thought.

He quickly put that thought aside and began to focus on what to do next.

He had no idea what to do in this Starsight City.

“Well, first I should go in.

I can think about other things later.”

Ning walked to the long queue waiting to enter and waited for his turn.

As the old man said, the guards only took 5 copper coins and let Ning in; he did not need to undergo any other checks.

“Do they just let anyone in like this?

What if terrorists also enter this way?” Ning thought, puzzled.

“Hmm… although, there might not be such a thing as terrorists in this world.

I shouldn't forget that I'm no longer on Earth.”

He tried to forget this point, but the houses in front of him reminded him of the period dramas he used to watch in the orphanage.

“Now that I’m in, what should I do now?” he wondered.

“Grrr.”

“Well, at least you know what to do,” Ning chuckled.

He looked around and quickly found a small tavern where he could buy food.

Food here cost about 2 copper coins per meal, so Ning ate without worry.

“I can create money for myself anytime,” Ning thought, chuckling to himself.

“Although, it might be better to understand this town,” Ning thought.

“System, give me knowledge of this town,” he said.

“All knowledge about the town.”

“Starsight City Basic Information: 8,800,000 Energy”

“Beginner Starsight City Information: 88,000,000 Energy”

“Intermediate Starsight City Information: 880,000,000 Energy”

“Advanced Starsight City Information: 8,800,000,000 Energy”

“Omniscient Starsight City Information: 8.8 trillion Energy”

“Hmm, this is more expensive than I thought,” Ning said.

He pondered for a moment and finally made a decision.

“I have to stay in this City for the foreseeable future, so buying the beginner version might be a good idea.

Alright, System, purchase beginner information,” he said.

“Confirmed.”

Suddenly, all the beginner knowledge of the City appeared in his mind.

He received more information than he expected, so he reviewed the new information.

“City Lord, huh?

I guess that's similar to a mayor or president.”

“The number of people is quite astonishing too.

Seeing how few people there were, I didn't think the numbers would be that high.

Not to mention, over 64% of them are cultivators.”

“Oh, there are 3 sects nearby, and multiple guilds?

I'll have to check them out when I have time.”

The last piece of information was what truly helped and simultaneously frustrated Ning.

It was geographical information about the City and its location.

Combined with the intermediate map he had, he was able to make enough connections between the two and easily deduce his current location.

As it turned out, he was still on the Northern Continent, and it took him less than a few minutes to put the two together.

The only fact was that he was also on the other side of the Earth, and during his 164 years in a coma, he had managed to cross the entire Earth.

Clavis stood on the side without a Central Continent, while Starsight stood on the side with a Central Continent.

Finally, he finished his meal and walked out of the tavern.

The City was large, but it was nothing for a cultivator.

He walked around the City, doing nothing but buying some snacks here and there.

Finally, after looking at the various houses and decorations in the City, he felt bored.

“I guess I should go see what these sects are like,” he said.
