121: Calm the crowd

“What’s going on?” Ning exclaimed in surprise, as he saw multiple black dots appearing on his fingers, much denser than the woman’s.

“Shh, this is contagious,” he thought. However, this helped him narrow things down considerably.

He looked at his fingers, trying to figure out if he could feel anything, but whether fortunately or unfortunately, there was no sensation.

The possibilities in his mind narrowed down even further, now leaving only four possibilities: “So it’s either the ‘Fat Killing’ plague, or…” “Ahhhhhh!” Suddenly, screams came from outside, and Ning immediately went out to check what was happening.

When he finally saw the scene before him, he was horrified.

In front of him were hundreds of different people, all with varying numbers of black dots on their bodies—men, women, children… this disease made no distinction.

Ning looked to the side and saw a fat person covered in black dots. “So, no ‘Fat Killing Plague.’” The possibilities dropped by one.

He looked around, trying to find others who could help him get more answers. He saw a blonde-haired person in the crowd with many black dots on them.

“The root of the disease isn’t the melanin levels in hair either. What about skin?” he wondered, looking at another dark-skinned person.

Even those people had darker spots on their bodies. Ning looked down at his own hands and found that the black dots had already extended to his elbows.

“Damn, this is too fast,” he thought. “So, if it’s not that…” As he was pondering, he saw a young teenage girl with absolutely no black dots on her skin. She stood quietly in the crowd, clearly terrified by what was happening, but it wasn't happening to her.

Ning ran up to her and asked, “Hey miss, do you mind if I check something?” he asked. The frightened girl looked at Ning, realized he was a volunteer, and quickly nodded.

He placed his palm on the young girl’s back, and using Yin Conversion, the place he touched on the young girl immediately made a loud sound.

‘Just as I thought, it’s that one.’

Ning removed his hands and told the girl, “Cover your ears.”

As soon as the girl covered her ears, Ning took a deep breath and screamed, “Everyone! Calm down! You’re fine!”

Some people stopped and looked at Ning, relieved to hear a volunteer say that nothing was wrong, but most still screamed and ran away.

Ning screamed a few more times, using his full cultivation base to scream at the top of his lungs, yet only a few people stopped.

He shouted a few more times, but no one really heard him. They ran around like headless chickens, screaming that they were going to die now.

Ning was out of breath, there were too many people, and he couldn’t say anything.

“Everyone, stop running.” “It’s fine, don’t run.”

“Stop making trouble.”

Suddenly, Ning heard several other people screaming, and he turned around to see another volunteer speaking in his stead.

Ning also joined in, and soon, everyone calmed down.

“Please don’t worry, these black dots will disappear on their own within a month, you have absolutely nothing to worry about,” Ning told them after everyone had calmed down.

Ning said, “Please go home calmly and tell everyone you meet who is experiencing the same thing that they have nothing to worry about, and it will disappear automatically in a month.”

Slowly, people began to leave the area, and soon no one was there except the volunteers.

“Good job, Volunteer Ning. You handled the chaos very well,” Rosso said as he walked over.

“Thank you, Brother Rosso,” Ning said. Ning looked back at the open room door and found that the girl had also left.

“Brother Ning, your face,” Rosso said.

“Uh… oh, yes, I have them, and you’ll have them soon too,” Ning said.

“What? We can’t stop it?” a volunteer said.

“Oh, God, I don’t want to get sick,” another person said.

Ning said, “Huh? Didn’t you hear me? It will be fine in a month, absolutely no problem.”

“What? Are you telling the truth?”

The volunteers were very surprised by the fact that he wasn’t lying.

“You helped me, don’t you know this is true?” Ning asked.

“Controlling the crowd is our job. So I thought you were just doing that at first. Wow, I didn’t know you actually knew what the problem was,” Rosso said.

“Brother Ning, if you really know what’s going on, then you should report this to the guild so they know what to do if someone else comes,” Rosso said.

Ning nodded, deciding to do so. He walked to the registration hall and let the receptionist know what had happened.

The guy at the reception was shocked, and he immediately called someone. A girl came out from inside.

“We already have enough patients inside, why did you call me here?” Mi Kai La said as she walked.

A volunteer said that he had something to tell Mi Kai La.

Mi Kai La was a little surprised and looked at Ning, asking, “Do you know how to treat this new disease?”

Ning said, “Something like that. The information I have, the elders and doctors might not.” Mi Kai La thought for a moment, but in the end, Ning was a volunteer, which was enough for her not to refuse his request.

“Alright, follow me, Volunteer Ning,” she said, leading him into the guild.
