129: Very loud

“You… how did my Corpse Qi leave?” a dark-skinned woman shrieked, her skin slowly becoming more human-like.

“Sigh, why do all of you say the same thing? Don’t you have any other sentences to use?” Ning asked. He then attacked the woman with One True Spear and killed her instantly.

This was the 5th woman he had killed tonight. They were all surprised when he suddenly took away their Corpse Qi, and then didn't know what to do.

Well, after that, the most they did was breathe for a little longer. Death would eventually come to all of them.

Ning left the area again after clearing the Corpse Qi.

In the process, he spiraled around the City, clearing out enemies and corpses. He was very confident that there were other, more powerful enemies in this City that he did not want to get into a fight with yet.

So, he tried to clear as much as he could by himself.

Screams and shouts rang out from everywhere. Fires were controlled one moment and out of control the next. Zombies ran around everywhere, showing how many people had died.

This was a true tragedy, on a scale Ning had never seen.

Suddenly, Ning stopped running. In front of him was a group of people fighting against hordes of zombies. They fought with swords and shields and tried to stay as far away from the zombies as possible.

“Don’t let them or her touch you. You will turn into one of them,” someone shouted. It seemed many people had now realized that being touched was why people turned into zombies in the first place.

The hoard of zombies was too much for the people, and they would be overrun very quickly. So, Ning ran forward and immediately jumped into the middle of the hoard.

“Oi, what are you doing?”

“You will die!”

People started shouting as soon as they saw Ning do something so preposterous. Ning didn’t care about their worries and immediately started sucking the Corpse Qi into himself.

The zombies immediately lost their decaying and rotting skin as they reverted to health and dropped dead on the ground. They all lost their Corpse Qi and were now just a pile of corpses.

The sound emanating from so many Corpse Qi was beyond anything Ning had collected all day today. The situation was so bad that he himself started wincing from the sound. It was too distracting.

“You… stole their Corpse Qi?” a woman who was a little further away from him said as she looked at Ning. “What did you do with it? Destroy it? Absorb it? Either way, you seem a little dangerous to be alive, hehe,” the woman said as she walked forward.

Ning looked at her blue skin and knew without a doubt that she was an enemy. Ning immediately ran forward and struck the woman with One True Spear.

The woman brought out a blue sword and blocked the attack with a technique that made it glow brighter. Using the momentum of the attack, she also simultaneously jumped backward, creating a gap between them.

“Haha, there’s no way I’ll let you get close to me. I don’t know what you’re doing to the Corpse Qi, but I won’t let you do that to me,” the woman said.

This was the first female who had managed to survive his spear strike without losing a single bit of advantage. Ning curiously checked her Qi cultivation.

“9th realm, huh? No wonder. Her actual combat capability with Corpse Qi must be around the 1st realm of Foundation Establishment,” Ning thought. This was going to be a troublesome fight.

He needed to close the gap to about 5 meters before he could start sucking the Corpse Qi from her. He needed to think of something, but he was having a hard time.

“Damn, this sound is too distracting. Will I die immediately if I stop it?” he wondered. He didn’t want to give the woman an opportunity to attack him.

“Closing the gap is first.” He immediately dashed forward and stopped as soon as he found the woman. He didn’t attack, as she would use that opportunity to flee.

Instead, Ning used Hypnotic Dance to try and make the woman stop thinking for a few seconds. It only worked for a few seconds before she returned to normal, but that was enough.

Ning was already spinning his spear, attacking her one after another from both sides. The woman blocked the spear with her sword, but she realized it was getting harder and harder to stop.

Not only was the spear getting stronger, but she was also getting weaker. Ning was sucking her Corpse Qi from her, but there was too much Qi.

“Do their Corpse Qi levels depend on their cultivation level?”

Ning wondered.

Blue light shined from her sword as she attacked Ning directly.

A large beam of blue light emerged from her sword, sending him flying.

Ning fell into the corpses, which softened his landing. He didn’t get hurt too much, but now he was hearing a massive sound.

He needed to do something that wouldn’t distract him or hinder his ability to think during the fight.

“I still have one thing I can do, don’t I?” Ning thought.

He immediately stopped the sound. The surroundings seemed to turn silent despite the crackling of fire and the screaming of people being as prevalent as ever.

The sound went back to the Corpse Qi and immediately started attacking Ning. But Ning was not discouraged. When the Corpse Qi started turning into sound, he immediately used Yin again for sound conversion.

However, his body also started smoking. He also used Yin To Heat conversion technique to evenly distribute the Corpse Qi throughout his body.
